I really hope Cult Mechanicus can use the regular CAD detachment (they do have an HQ after all) so I can ally them by using the minimum HQ and 1 TROOP required

anyone want to guess the point cost of the tracked servitors and the HQ ?

Depends on if any of the new units are troops, from the looks of it is that we have an elites in the electropriests, and 2 heavy supports in the kastelans and the tracked guys, and a hq

Do you think it will tie in other two books?

I am wondering how synergy between all the books will be represented. Battlebrothers? Something more?

From the other hand, Kastelan visors remind me of butt chicks impression... ...in sand.
I think I will try to finish them flush with a bit of putty.

The initial rumor (which is now 2/3 correct) was that the third book would be a painting guide.

Thats not so bad compared to the rest of their overpriced line. A character-quality model, and two big robots. 2 Carnifex are 90$ direct from GW. It's comparable to the 78$ Space Marine Centurion squad.

The Cybernetica Datasmith looks good enough to be a HQ in his own right, I fancy picking up a couple of Kastellan boxes. Has anybody any idea on price yet?

I have to say, the ~~Praetorians~~ Kataphrons look great, probably the best of the Cult Mechanicus models IMO

Which is still one of the most ridiculously overpriced items GW sells. And interestingly both kits are hideous.

Thanks for the higher res pictures as well, I am totally sold on the Kastellan box now, the Servitors look a bit better too. My Ad Mech army is going to make me so poor.

I thought that too, maybe a practical design for them so that they are earthed? (I am assuming that they unleash a lot of electricity).

The new robots look about the right size for these guys to work as stand-in's.

The Zealots are 120mm tall (4") so are going to be more than a bit taller than the new GW robots which are looking like 3" tall to the top of the head (assuming they are on 65mm bases).
Lots of Robotech etc. toys out there that might provide alternate sources for "counts as" models.

After looking at the FW pic of a Castellax with the Marine in it, it looks like the Castellaxes are about 2 -1/4" (56mm) tall to the top of the head, so quite a bit shorter than the approximately 3" (76mm) height of the new robot.

The Elecro Priests look like they have 'New School' sneakers from the 90's. I can't say I like those either.

The Kataphrons, HQ and Datasmiths are incredible.

The head of the controller looks perfect for a delphan gruss conversion but I'd still need a drill arm.

The robots look better in the New pictures. But still too red

Really not seeing the point of the powerfists

MCs are AP2 anyway right
MCs can smash for double strength if you want to open a landraider

MCs ignore unwieldy though right? So those powerfists would be at init.

I am so glad I didn't spend a ton of money on the first release. This 2nd release is going to hurt the wallet.

Really not keen on the robot's arms. Might use leftover killa kan arms instead. Everything else looks great, though I'm still a bit unsure about the electro-priests.
