I do realize this is sarcastic, but I think it's a salient point to make that white people in the US don't seem to automatically support their "race brothers" like black people in the US do.

Isn't it odd that the most racists groups in the US are christians, like the klan, and skinheads, or hate groups the the WBC. What is it about teachings of the bible that makes so many people racists & haters?
The moral of this is if it's fair to paint muslims by the actions of a few people, than it's also fair to paint christians by the actions of their people.

He probably was, simply because if you're American you're probably religious, and Christian. That doesn't mean the guy was motivated by any particular religious belief, especially as many people who identify with a particular religion aren't strongly motivated by it in anything they do. Double points for Christians in the US because saying "I'm Christian." is often an effective, reflexive response meant to terminate a line of questioning.

I just saw the video on the website... "A massive explosion, so loud it shook my house"... Now, I'm not denying that a crappy thing occurred here, and had this guy got it right I'm sure people might have gotten hurt, but the damage done to the building does not seem to match up to the description given by the peeps on the news report. It looks like they got lucky, as what little damage I can see seemed to be a slightly sooty wall?

Pipe bombs, depending on construction, can easily cause a very big bang without also causing any significant damage. Based on the other details presented, especially attempting to ignite a gas can with a road flair, I would guess he isn't well versed in building explosive devices.
