I love Nevelon's mindset!

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. [...] We will continue to diversify the cast of characters we portray [...] so everyone can find representation and heroes they can relate to. Nope, the only difference is the upgrades and the model...

Sigh. Every time I see a new se of rules for it, I think, "Will they have fixed that glaring oversight? It's an Immolator. The whole point of the Immolator is that the turret is at the front so it can have a fire point at the back. In 2e, that was actually noted in the vehicle's fluff."

I think thier own special version of a LR would fit in, just ,make it a 0-1 choice to highlight its rarity.

Someone else mentioned a Iknight. I think that could work too. Theyd be the only codex im aware of with an in house Iknight, and thats fluffy unto itself. More to my liking would be either of these solutions in a new codex comprising the Sisters as part of a larger Echlisarchy fighting force. Frat militia, Inquisitors and high ranking clergy with Stormtrooper bodygaurds. This could also open up the idea of sisters in Chimeras, which i think fits them too.

I never said that the Imperium weren't hypocrites.

It seems that when something is too valuable/restricted in use it just means the Imperial Guard can't have it.

How about an open topped transport? The imperium has very few of those. Maybe the occupants could give up their shooting to PRAISE THE EMPRAH and gain som sort of faith-shield, that'd be pretty sweet.

Well the Stormlord fits that for Sister in a Super Heavy role (holds 40 and 20 can shoot which makes for a hell of an overwatch) but for new vehicles, I don't know. I mean I think it'd be pretty okay but at the same time I think it needs to look as ornate and over the top as possible which lends it's of visually to a sealed transport instead.

I dunno could go with almost a cattlepen look to it and make it a DT for repenta's. sort of a "crowd em into a cheap open topped transport and rush em at the enemy"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

IIRC there's an ancient decree about Land Raiders being reserved for the Space Marines. The Inquisition can get them because, well, they're the Inquisition. But they also used to be available to common troops of the Imperial Army until too many were destroyed in the Horus Heresy. I don't think the Sororitas in and of themselves would be able to tank up the the point of being able to secure Land Raiders independent of the Inquisition.

Of even more importance, they don't really have many units suited to a Land Raider. LR's really work best for delivering a small-ish, but powerful heavy assault unit to where they need to be, something Sisters lack. I'm not really sure what the overall utility to the army would be. I mean, there's Repentia I guess, but that'd be about it...

Honestly, I'd much rather see a completely new vehicle.

This. Sisters shouldn't have Land Raiders, fluff-wise.

The sisters don't maintain their own compliment of LR's due to their detached nature. They are, after all, witch hunters and heresy detectors. They can, however, requisition them directly from the Ordo Malleous - and they've got deep friggin pockets. They can requisition Land Raiders with fun things like Psycannons on them - assuming the proper Inquisition member is in charge of the dedicated transport. So, all the fun bits that the Inquisition has, they have.

Their close ties with the IG (Navy explicitly) gives them access to the Lightning and Avengers (which they love), as well as Valkyries from either the Inquisition or the IG directly. You could even draw the ties to both the IG and OM to requisition a Baneblade. But like I said, they don't usually keep the really expensive things around for daily operations, only calling them in when needed (and bolting on 100000lbs of extra iconography hehe).

The sisters do have a unique variant of the Rhino chassis in both the Immolator and Exorcist line. I'd like to see them have more direct fliers in the future called out in the codex. The lightning could use an upgrade and be part of the actual codex (one can dream...).

Actually, the sisters may be having trouble making a flyer covered in bling that still flies.

I just don't see it fitting for the fluff. The land raider is an iconic vehicle for the Space Marines, and in the fluff they are so treasured and difficult to produce, I cannot see any other faction acquiring a supply in large enough numbers to warrant allowing them as a faction option in game. That being said, it might be cool to have a specific canoness, one who had done something truly awesome for a chapter, be able to take one as a dedicated transport. That would be cool and fluffy.

Only according to parts of the fandom that ignore all the ways they're different and relate "power armor and bolter" = "Space Marines only" despite the various humans who can have them (like the Inquisition, their Henchmen, the Sisters, and just about anyone if you play the FFG RPGs).

Oh!

I know!

The Spartan isn't technically a Land Raider, it's a Spartan Assault Vehicle!

They could have those!

They're based off of the LR platform and they're even rarer than the standard frame; I don't see how them not being called land raiders would help increase their availability for other factions.

Other way 'round, the Spartan is an older and rarer design, the LR is a smaller streamlined vehicle based on it.

That said I'd still prefer giving the Sisters some sort of up-armoured Predator or a Rhino Advancer to giving them Land Raiders.

You sure? I was under the impression that the Spartan is a modified version of the original LR platform.

It's a distinct STC these days according to the more recent Forge World fluff.

Back in Rogue Trader, yeah, it was a Land Raider modified to have an Assault Ramp.
