Good advice.. I have another truck NIB. Probably need a third.

I have 9 Meganobs ( all with magnetized weapons ) next on the list. These should go fairly quick as they are mostly armor followed by a Battlewagon and all its variants.

Tonight I see some action with my Orks. Playing a 2 vs 1 battle against Tau and SW. Nice that all the figures I'll be bringing will be painted.

Big mec ( Warboss figure )
20 slugga boys
10 Nobs w truck
Deff Dread and 4 Kans
4 Kopters
10 Gretchen with RH
Gorkanaught

Being such a low Tier army, I will bring the 2nd half of my team with My Necrons. Should be a interesting game with this Combo.

The brutality of close combat Ork style mated with the ranged power of the Necrons, it should be painful if played right!

"Your mumblings are awakening the sleeping Dragon, be wary when meddling the affairs of Dragons, for thou art tasty and go good with either ketchup or chocolate. "
Dragons fear nothing, if it acts up, we breath magic fire that turns them into marshmallow peeps. We leaguers only cry rivets!

Only to be matched with Close combat Space wolf Cav and characters and the 'shooting is what I do' Tau.
I Think a lot will depend on the deployment and first turn option. Thou it would be sweet if I could get my Orks stuck into his Tau.. What Orky fun that would be.

Thanks Master! What is thy Bidding! ( Heavy Breathing )

Two players dropped out last night so YB and I went at it. Him 2500 pt of wolves ( though he was limited by the figures and proxies we could find) against 1250 or Orks and Necrons.
Victory for the bad guys! ( that'd be me ). I was amazed on how good the 2 armies played together. Concentrating my Orks in a supporting blob forced the SW to throw lots at it while my Cron went about systematically eliminating the threats 1 by 1. I still did get lucky with we Doomsday cannon and managed to pound anything in groups. All the ' cheese' in the Necron army paid off as I only lost 4 Warriors in my list by game end.

Next week we are being blessed with the presence of none other than "Gits" himself. So we'll for sure be doing a 2 vs. 2 battle. As Simon Phoenix says " ohhhh exciting"

This is an excellent and entertaining army you have going here. I love the unique color style and the striking contrast between white and rust-brown on the vehicles. Great work so far. Keep it up.

TRoS and Waaazag.... Thanks.. I'm glad you like. I got a lot to do but having an alt theme does add to my motivation to get them all painted.

Though I have a lot of models and almost 1 of every kind I don't expect these to be currently competitive. I do however enjoy playing them and they make great allies to most other codex's.

Unfortunately it's slowing down to the RL of summer. I have started picking out a few details on my Stompa while waiting for my Mega nobs to dry.

Not much progress all summer on any Army. But I've been trying to get caught up on the projects for other folks.
A while back I made come basic foam core building for my FLGS. They were simple, but were all painted and looked like a set. Ice wanted some but in a 'Ork Flavor'
While these are Generic building and not showcase pieces they turned out pretty well.
These are supposed to be basic Ork reinforced human buildings. There will be 5 in total and all different sizes.

Here is the first one with its basic paint job. A wee bit more to do! It's gonna be used on the cold and snowy planet thus the lighter colors. I'll frost it from the top before I'm done.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
After these I might try a Ork version of a Bastion.

Man I love the white skin on your models. And those Kannons last page look just perfect!

But this latest creation has to be the "orkiest" building I've ever seen

Amazing Mad Max feel off these dudes Solar Lion, and the scheme is working so freaking well on them. Super brights for the skin versus the dirty rusty effects are really working.

The scenery is unreal. I can barely put a figure together with instructions, I can't comprehend building this stuff out of nothing but imagination, absolutely crazy. Subscribed!

Yeah, Like the other stuff I built the bottom floor is up about 1in. then the space between floors are a bit taller, enough to fit a dread ( not a Eldar one though) or crisis suit.

Thanks, My Army is based on all the dreads, naughts and walkers

Thanks, Unlike the previous stuff I've done for my FLGS, These 5 Ork buildings each have a different theme, Garage, store ect. So many rivets... Taking forever.

That be cool ... U must do!

 Kiblams wrote:

Very easy to do.. they are all formboard held together with Hot glue. I use a standard template to get all the floors and window the same height. I seal the foam edges with a flexible Modeling Putty. ( I use this instead of say wall Spackle. Though more expensive, the flexible modeling paste is less brittle thus less likely to break. Since this is for My good friend Ice , I'm putting more into it than I would normally do for a generic piece for my FLGS )

The 'Plating is corrugated cardboard for the 'wavy' sheeting and mattboard cut into odd shapes ( the kind they use to frame pictures - this is a bit thicker than posterboard and can get expensive if you buy from a hobby or art store. I get mine for free from a framing shop. Remnants for the Win!) . The rivets are GW box tops cut into fine small strips and then into squares and glued on with white or ' school' glue ( this dies clear ).

Primed black, sealed multiple times, then spot painted using an Iron rust color, grays and black. For this set they will get a white ' Top down' coat to blend in with Ice's winter themed table. For these I'll do some additional streaking of the rivets and maybe some Ork details depending on the time.

Thanks... ( pause ) from the women whom just painted an amazing Star themed Wraithknight. Now that's ' Unreal" !

Here is 3 phone camera pics of the Ork Buildings done with their base paint Jobs for Ice. I’ve 1 more side each to rivet on the remaining 3 buildings.

Here a couple of blurry shots that hopefully show you the scale

I might do some removeable walkways to add some twist to these.

There's a marine in that building!! You need one of your orks to act as the showroom model.

They're like snow hares, adapting to their environment

Buildings look suitably ramshackle and gravity defying! I would love to see some splashes of color, though - maybe just some red (a bit of graffiti?).

Yeah that'll come after they are all at this stage. Some Ork glyphs and other popular ork decorating symbols for sure. Some additional weathering for the rivets and probably some additional rust!

Ah that sounds good just don't want it to feel too "Frank Miller" (like just black/white/grey). Just a little splash of other color here and there will make it look awesome I think

How many total are you making!?

Grumpy.. nice..

I've got 5 for Ice,, These are using the same basic template that I did for the red buildings for my LFGS. But with all the riveted plate they are 10 times heavier and way more sturdy. ( the FLGS ones are already seeing wear ).

I'll do some walkways so if Ice wants to connect them together at least they will match. Again he's free to repaint, add, cut up, subtract anything to these. They are just meant to be simple terrain and not show pieces and semi Moonpie proof ( like anything really is!!)

I'm tempted to do a 'Landing pad in this style as a test. I'm sure he could use one of those.
