I liked Dimension W, I'm interested to see where it goes. Apparently the creator has done some work with Marvel, perhaps they're hoping for a good west crossover, ala Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, etc...)

There's a few more shows to check out, but it's looking like this season might be Haikyuu and Iron Blooded Orphans as hold overs from last season, and then Dimension W, Erased, and Ojiisan and Marshmallow (don't judge me).

And I'm trudging through Evangelion, it remains meh.

Sorry XD I knew it had a Japanese name everyone was using, but I couldn't remember it let alone spell it so I took the easy route

That is one of the most annoying parts of watching anime. Trying to keep straight the names and such. As a non speaker, it makes them essentially strings of gibberish, and starting out each season trying to remember which strings of gibberish on the list of new episodes were the ones I'd decided to watch.

That's why I'm going to make an effort to really only use the names that show up on the streaming sites like Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu, since those services are generally aimed at an English speaking audience.

It is beautifully animated. I'm a little concerned about the plot, nothing really happened in the first episode.

So far I gave "Erased", "Active Raid: Kidou" and "Schwarzesmarken" a try.

Erased was fething amazing, the other 2 hurt my soul.

I need to check out Hai to Gensou no Grimgar and Dagashi Kashi.

I didn't like Grimgar all that much, seemed ok till they got weird and fan servicey. I was thinking of looking at Schwarzemarken, but it doesn't sound good based on your response lol


But hey at least Iron Blooded Orphans is finally heating up!

I have too many shows to catch up on from last season still to start this one. Noragami was sweet! Now I can finish Heavy Objects (for the lawls), and Lance N' Masques

And Snow White continues. Let the dramatic build up begin!

Grimgar has my curiosity peaked. Seems like another "oh no we're trapped in a game" story, but the art is lovely and the little twist is intriguing.

That was my line of thinking as well. I might wait for the dub like I am with Shomin Sample (which looks like a gender flipped Ouran High School Host Club) or if I get bored/hear good things.

Funimation seems to have a decent loadout this season.

I got "treated" to a spoiler last night. It apparently gets kind dark soon, so it.doesn't appear to be like any/most of the trapped in a video game shows

Ok, new Roster for the Anime club nd my feelings on all of them
1: Ghost Stories: Im honestly surprised this made it one with how bland the first episode is.
2: Mononoke: This is quite frankly a boring anime, I have seen it before and it doesnt hold my interest
3:Kinos Journey: Ehh, its alright
4: Spice & Wolf: Ahhh, why did she have to put clothes on :(

I'm not a big fan of dark. I have enough real life stuff to deal with.

Speaking of, Dagashi Kashi is the comedy I needed this season, apparently.

Although that is a lot of piercings.

I will admit I Grimgar has some really cool artwork. One of my friends didn't like it because they thought the background looked kinda low budget and bad, like an old disney cartoon film. Maybe from an animation standpoint it does look a little weird at first, but I like the look of it.

Just finished watching one punch man...

i hope to see more of that asap.

I will probably watch it, but I've been going through a gakload of dark anime during December (Utena, Paranoia Agent, and now Evangelion), so I might just wait till it's finished airing and binge it.

Also, Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju is pretty funny, but it's not your typical anime. It's designed with an adult audience in mind. Not lewd things mind you, but like a television drama you'd see on like NBC, CBS, or ABC. About a recently released prisoner that wishes to become a rakugo performer (think radio dramas, where 1 man performs all the parts). The first episode is 47 minutes long and contains pretty much a full rakugo performance. I found myself chuckling at some of the word play and the jokes, but I can see why it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

How dense was the wordplay stuff? I can barely understand English puns sometimes, and Japanese language puns have never really been able to do it for me (which considering I don't know the language or kanji isn't surprising.)

Ooohh, Paranoia Agent, ehat an awesome anime. It gets strange like all hell, but very cool! The OP is one of my favorites, it's so nuts.

Welp, Grimgar has my love. Those 20 mns just flew by, I'm excited for more. From the preview, either someone dies or they kill their first goblin.

In either case, I'm loving the Dark Knight. Usually cocky as hell isn't my cup of tea save rare exceptions (Kamina 4ever) but he's so damn fun.

Video-game stuff certainly has taken off after SAO. I'm still waiting for more seasons of LOG Horizon and Overlord, personally.

I didn't notice any of the puns in Japanese, sorry, but the subs on Crunchyroll were done well enough for English puns. The voice actor for "Yotaro" is good enough, that during his rakugo (when I found myself chuckling the most), the puns in the English subs lined up with changes in his tone and voice.

Ranta, the Dark Knight, is played by probably one of my favorite voice actors. He generally plays the boisterous characters in any series, and is immediately recognizable. He was Favarro in Rage of Bahamut and Taro in Shirobako. He's pretty prevalent in a lot of series now that I'm looking at what he's played in. Generally, if I hear him, I'm hooked on the show (at least until he leaves)

I liked the first episode of Grimgar. More DnD to me than video game. Animation was nice.

Checked out Dimension W and Bubuki Buranki and thought both were pretty good and also had some good visuals as well.

Luck & Logic and Shwarkzein were OK, with Shwar being the "worst" new one I've checked out so far. Will at least watch a second episode of each.

While not anime, there is the classic TRON movie from ’82. Concept has been around forever.

I don't think Co'Tor was saying that SAO started the whole thing. He was saying that the popularity of SAO has sparked a new wave of "trapped in a video game" animes. Prior to SAO, we saw them but they weren't frequent. Now every new anime season has one in its lineup.
