The Mantic studio painters (is it still Golem?) have really picked up their game recently. I am sure that plenty of people will find use for that Veer Myn tunneller, also fair play for a unique design on the Asterian skimmer.

So we expect a retail release for those post April 2017, probably nearer the summer?

It's probably rather bad that I'm super excited for these as terrain pieces for Magneto to throw around in Marvel.

I went for the 3 Tunneler option from the KS.

Initially it was for a different form of IG Armoured Fist platoon but now I'm thinking Goliath alternative for a mining world Genestealer Cult.

Warpath looks like a home run to me, model-wise. Sad I couldn't afford any Chimas at the time.

They hired Dave full-time a few years ago (around the time of the Mars Attacks release). Painting quality has been awesome ever since.

I agree, everything in these photos looks great. I'm especially excited to see the Veer-myn Tangle, and I quite like the way the guard turned out, too.

The more beaten-up, weathered and mustardy the yellow is, the more realistic and better it looks. He's done a great job on the ones in the pics.

Nexus Psi will have some new content, not just the old stuff reworked. I helped to proofread it months ago, it is a really great piece of work, 100% written by a member of the RC, and edited by the rest of us.

Here's what to expect:

- Linked narrative campaign.
- Zombie AI rules.
- Solo Zombie campaign.
- New elite army lists.
- Deadzone rules for new Warpath models.
- New exploration table, rules for campaigns set on Nexus Psi.

Very good book, lots of gaming content there, including some stuff for people who want to play solo.

Infestation and Nexus Psi are an example of the kind of continued support that Deadzone will be getting, with expansions, new models and rules.

which new warpath models can we find in these rules?

Looks like a printed copy of the Warpath novel will become available in December. Mantic will also release a real, printed copy of their Dungeon Saga adventure game book by Dakka's own Matt Gilbert. Barring unforeseen catastrophe, you know I'll buy a copy of each.

My mouth hit the floor when I saw that there will be a printed copy of the adventure book after all.

I too will be getting one. As I had planned back in the original campaign.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

So I originally pledged for printed copies of the adventure game books, both for myself and extra copies for my wife's classroom for the kids to enjoy.

Mantic then said they wouldn't make physical copies, so I had to spend my credit on stuff I didn't really want.

Now they're making the physical copies

I have over 100 gamebooks on the bookcases behind me, I am very very keen to see Mantic release their own line of gamebooks. They've become very popular again recently, some of it is nostalgia, some of it is new people becoming interested in the format via interactive fiction apps (there are some really great ones out there, the Lone Wolf game is awesome).

Already played through the digital version of Winter's Knight, it's great, Matt Gilbert really knows how to write a good story, it's a book with a rough linear path, but lots of different exploration options within the different areas that you visit.

Oh, Mantic...

Try writing a letter to Ronnie about it. Perhaps he can credit you some Mantic Points or send some Damage Control packages your way to get you the books.

After all, Ronnie Renton doesn't hate school children...does he?

A low res version of the Warpath source book is available for proof reading until Monday - note this book has no rules it's just the "fluff" book.

I for one really enjoyed the fluff, and it's good to see Mantic fleshing out the Warpath universe with it.

Really impressed by the miniatures in these new photos, they are really coming together as coherent fleshed out ranges.

More of this please Mantic.

Well, I compared the Plague troopers, their legs are about the right length compared to other human minis, BUT as the plague increases their torso size, (Added spinal disks, and muscles and such), they get to be made "short" compared to their enhanced torsos. Imagine a suddent growth spurt in hours when normal ones take weeks to adjust to. No wonder they are in pain, plus the torn skins, the spikes, the teeth and claws growing as well.

I thought about this.. but the problem is that for the most part, everything is so symmetrical. If they were going for rapid mutation, it might serve them better to have a lot more of an asymmetrical look about the models. In fact, I wanted to use some for that type of mutant in an upcoming sci-fi scenario game.. but am going a different direction (maybe Quantum Gothic or Hasslefree).. I don't have any of the newer plastic plague models, just the old DZ restic ones, so I'm not sure if the proportions are the same on the newer models. If they would release a set of "transitional" plagues mid transformation, I would snatch those up.

It would make for interesting minis for assymetry. My restic plague troops do have some different sized arms and hands, especially Dr. Siimons. she is definitely mid transition from human to mutation via the "Plague"

While I am getting one of every plastic GCPS kit as well, I initially pledged for just that mini, because the concept art was so nice.

Oh well, now I won't feel bad about cancelling my Star Saga early bird pledge one bit.

It looks like an old RT or 2nd edition model, where you used plastic arms with glued on weapons on metal bodies. That's a frighteningly awkward pose.
