I expect we should start seeing some decent info this week? Especially if pre-orders go up next Saturday. I think it's safe to assume that GW will want the codex out before the fantasy release.

I would assume the codex will be up for preorder this upcoming Saturday, with a release the following weekend. The leaks should start to come in around Tuesday or Wednesday before the release.

This is kinda screwing me up, since I'm trying to set up my army now...
In any case I can only hope they keep the "X as troops" stuff or at least give flexible enough formations that it won't be a problem (since mine's based off the Azrael DeathRaven thing), if the new Codex is too much of a problem I'll just stick with the previous one and hope my opponents aren't too bothered.

But if I may truly wishlist I'd like to see it include rules for the Mortis Dreadnought and get a plastic model for that! Also this stuff about squads of 3 Dreads (I think) in the new Vanilla SM Codex would be cool.
If I got both of those, I'd immediately buy two Mortises right off the bat!

Rules for the Mortis are free on Forgeworld website. I'm pretty sure we'l be able to take squads of Dreads/Tanks now just like C:SM. That'd be truly effed up if we couldnt

I hope the Mortis Mk V Dreadnought is in the DA codex. It belongs there, they are the chapter that makes the most use of them.

Anyone spy anything new in the model image? Not really spotting anything. That DA Chaplain is making me jealous, though. Might have to get one and turn those swords into blood drops or file the icons off and use him for my Crimson Fists. Very cool looking model.

Feels like we're just going to have a Necrons type release and just have a character, codex and tactical objective cards. Maybe Caliban Green spray too?

Possibly. And given that the new C:SM stuff like Assault Squads, Devastators, and Librarians came out, there isn't a whole lot of need for new stuff. They likely won't release any sort of Tactical Squad, though I could see them bundling the Tactical Squad and Dark Angels Upgrade Sprue together as a web bundle.

I thought they already did a bone undercoat spray? I am sure I saw it in a GW in the UK over Christmas.

I am not really a rumour source, but this has just come through from the GW sales team;

A 160-page full colour hardback codex. The most comprehensive Dark Angels codex ever, which includes three new Dark Angels Detachments, 6 formations of and Tactical Objectives, plus Warlord Traits and Chapter Relics. This new codex gives the player the opportunity to build their own Deathwing and Ravenwing formations, from the extensive range of available miniatures.

It is a £35 Codex. Looks like Dark Angels are getting the royal treatment (at last)!

I wonder how hard it will be to make my Blood Angels are "Dark Angels Successor".

If the unthinkable happens and this time DA will be C:SM+1 instead of -1 I will shed a few manly tears for the Lion and the Emperor. Best not to get too excited yet, they might screw this up so badly. And oh come on, you know you secretly want to put on your bathrobe over your power armour and smite heretics and xenos alike with all the fury of Caliban! There'd be some poetic justice in seeing all the vanilla marine players using the new DA codex... BA deserve better than smurfs so maybe they'll get FAQ'd some day?(yeah right, as if that's going to happen.)

I highly doubt anything good will happen to BA any time soon. I would be happy if DA end up just on par with C:SM.

They did. I just can't for the life of me remember if it was Zandri Dust, or Ushabti Bone lol.

Well, I'll admit I was thinking of the Mark V as Casval mentioned.
Regarding the Dread/Tank squads, that sounds hopeful then!

Regarding the leak I feel a bit more at-ease now. Still not happy about the prospect of losing X as Troops rules but build-your-own-formation could probably make up for that.

Surely you'd be able to use Skyhammer regardless, since DA are still Astartes with a few differences?

I don't want OP. I just want a balanced book with some nice builds. Doesn't have to be top tier or anything.

With all the new SM kits, and the chapter upgrade packs, I think the only new model we will see is the Chaplain. (who is amazing)

I hope the formations and combinations are just on par with C:SM and that would be just fine. Then I'll be more motivated to finish my custom DA successor force.
