The deathwing detachment let's you pass or fail reserves rolls, allowing you to get the raven wing teleport homers right in the place you want. Granted, it's unlikely you'll 'choose' to fail them that often, but the option is good.

And good spot on the apothecary.... I missed that completely. That's upsetting.

The DWCS lets you get a termy squad without a character, if thats your thing. The SGT upgrade is optional. Hence 5 TH/SS's with no sgt to challenge out!

DW Seargents can get LC and TH/SS combos now too.
The wording changed to "replace all weapons".

With all the changes in the works, I just have one question:

Does the DA have anything that can handle AA reliably?

I won't have the book till tomorrow and I've found some information regarding missile lock and S7 AP3 missles but I'm not sure if that 'fixed' the AA (or lack thereof) of the DA.

The Jetfighter is good AA.

I also was just able to download the Digital Codex and can confirm it did not correct the RW HQ blunder.

I just noticed that a ravenwing formation can have all black Knights.

The Ravenwing Strike Force can only contain units with the Ravenwing special rule. Only one HQ contains the Ravenwing special rule (Sammael). The Ravenwing Strike Force allows for 3 HQs. How does one accomplish this with only one available HQ, who is a Unique Character.

You accomplish it by buying more models and not worrying about the rules.

So, was just playing around with Battlescribe. I know it's not the authority on the rules, but the guys that update it do do a pretty sweet job.

I'm trying to build a dual wing list. It says that my libby and interrogator chaplain have to both have terminator armour? Now, the way I read it is that that's not strictly a requirement and we're one of the only forces that can deep strike power armoured guys in? Am I right?

There's also a lack of named characters outside of belial...now if I have my rules wrong then that makes sense.... But I'm pretty sure I don't.

That there are 3 slots for Ravenwing HQs, but only Sammael is a legal HQ for RW.

No Skyfire. Volume of attack will probably mitigate that some, but it isn't as effective as it can be. The Nephilim isn't terrible, it just isn't great. The Avenger Mega Bolter will peel HP off of a good number of flyers, but will struggle against higher AV.
