Oh they gotta have the option to put Shadowsun in one of those! I mean, it's literally the most fitting new suit for her, and the open cockpit makes you able to see her!

Still, i love the idea of cockpits. Crisis suits are a bit small to model it without leaving the model weakened, but Riptides shoulda had that feature.

I do like that they're coming up with vehicle designations for everything now, that's a neat little detail I think.

I was hoping for broadside price + $10, but oh well.

45GBP... quite a big suit then.

It's actually the same price the Riptide is in Poland.

Vehicle designations are long overdue. The Piranha bein the TX4 is long overdue with the FW TX42 version being out for like a decade.

It's good to see it comes with multiple heads.

Looks a bit monstrous next to the stealth suits.

I like it as an idea of the latest in Tau technology and that each codex seems to be bringing a new phase in Tau expansion.

I'm just wondering what size the redone Battlesuits will end up being.

One thing regarding the cockpit we havent seen yet is the female counterpart rumor.
Thats one thing about 40k i always wished was more common: female versions without requiring heavy kitbashing. The only female Tau model we got atm is Shadowsun. I saw a kitbash someone did for a female Ethereal and i reeeaally wanted that model lol looked amazing.

On the Shadowsun note, i could totally see some special rule where shes equipped with one of these as well as other experimental crap. I love Shadowsun, but shes about as limited as Farsight because the unit she wants to be with either doesnt exist or isnt that amazing for the way she plays. Stealth suits have terrible gun loadouts.
On top of that, with all these large suits i could conceivably see us getting an MC HQ as it is. And this one just fits Shadowsun's playstyle perfectly.

Then again, all of our named HQs are pretty crap. Either rulewise or such a unique method of attack they dont mingle well with others.

Also, it should seem monstrous next to the Stealth Suits lol. Stealth Suits are barely bigger than firewarriors, this thing is bigger than a Broadside. It is, after all, a monstrous creature.
The redone XV8s probably wont be much bigger at all. I imagine their arms/legs will be thicker but i doubt they'd be any taller (thicker because of joints)

Honestly, I would not be surprised to see Shadowsun get an option for a Stealth Suit Bodyguard Team that can take Fusion Guns.

That would be sweet, really I wonder what benefit the stealth suit detachment will get.

Actually, tau are very easy to make female. Just make their nose indent a Y instead of an I. That's literally the only difference between female and male tau in armour.

What I don't get (well, I do, $$$), is the currency exchange rate.

GW isn't doing it.

45 gbp = $69 usd (not 75),
CAD = $90 (which is spot on exchange rate),
DKR = 457 (very very close with some savings),
AUS =$95 AUD (not that $125 AUD!),
poor NZ, rate exchange is $104 nzd NOT GW's tag of $150 nzd....

Hell, the Stormsurge is $135 (USD) around the world, but in the USA $150 (NZ is a whopping $190 USD!).....

I know, I know, GW can do and price the way they want, but it is a bad practice when folks can easily figure out they are getting bent over....

Of course, there are several places on the net where you get 20-25% off, no tax, & free shipping, so that is how I'll do it....

I'm going to assume that a lot of the disparity in pricing between different countries comes from import taxes and tariffs.

The disparity in pricing is because they don't do flat currency conversions, but instead have what are effectively "price bands".

€60, yikes that is quite steep imo. 180 for a unit of 3? 0_o

3 suits for $75 is a pipedream, no matter how you spin it, with the size of the Ghostkeel.

These aren't Centurion sized. These aren't even Kastelan sized. These are Riptide sized from the looks of it.
