Got my copy ordered. Played first game last night (Dwarves vs Lizardmen) and it was a lot of fun.
Can't wait to see all of the redesigned races over the coming months.

Ordered mine Saturday after getting a few fun trial games in with my beastmen.
Seemed to be a bit of interest in the LGS after people saw me and my opponent actually having fun playing it instead of just listening to all the naysayers on the internet.

I would order the starter is the Sigmarites were against something other than yet more Chaos. I have been looking to get into some GW fantasy for a while, and I think I might instead go on Ebay and get the Skaven from the Island of Blood as the solid basis of an army.

You cannot even get it direct from GW any more, it is sold out on the web store, well physical copies anyway.
I am looking forward to the 8am opening from my local GW for the pre-orders this saturday, just annoying that I have to go to London in the afternoon for a friends birthday.

After some debate, I decided to order mine based on the opinion of someone I've gamed with for decades who has playtested the new system and found it entertaining. We will be instituting some balance system between us, but we've always done that in both fantasy and 40K.

"The space marine officer was waving and yelling to his men on the wall unaware he was leading the Squiggoth on. Stompy (the squiggoth) headbutted its way through the wall and gave chase to the terrified commander as he ran up seven tiers of the fortress, trying to close gates behind him and ordering men to cover his fight. In the end, stompy cornered and pulverised the officer in the heart of the citadel as thousands of orks poured through the breaches he had left behind." |

Looks like the set give you 2 nice sized armies for some fun games. So when you do have the money hopefully you can convince some of your 40k friends to give it a go.

If you go by Wounds limit per scroll, you'd have to categorize Scrolls - limiting all scrolls to e.g. 20 wounds would be pointless as some units profit from 30+ wounds in it.
So e.g. have three categories, small, medium, Horde or...Troop, Regiment, Horde (haha!) and change the wound limit according to said category, sth. like:
Troop: 1-10
Regiment: 10-20
Horde: 30-50

I don't like this, because that contradicts the very idea of their own pre-set formations in a way - the Empire one requires you to get 3 units of state troops and it is impossible with that suggested rule, because the warscroll can duplicate once, making it two units of state troops. It would be different if they counted as separate scrolls (i.e. - two units of halberdiers and two units of swordsmen being legal), but now they don't - they're all rolled into one scroll for (in)convenience.
Now I know that you are free to adjust these rules as you see fit, I can read, thanks, but what I am kinda gripping about is that they seem to not think about what they write. I think it was same with Beastmen formation and gors and I believe that upping the limit to 3 for infantry wouldn't really hurt them and it wouldn't make them contradict themselves. Especially that (as I said in other threads) those formations seem to be pretty balanced and look like they'd make great battleforce contents for instant tournament-ready armies like the Skirmishes for By Fire and Sword game.

Maybe the formations count as Warscrolls themselves? At least maybe they are intended to.

I did the same trick with the White Dwarves and am giving the magazine to friends(keeping the figs, though)who haven't played fantasy in a while. They are planning on giving it a go again and are excited to see the direction the game is taking. Most are old Chronopia players and they like how the HtH phase mirrors that game.
