Now you're just going to embarrass all of us who had a full month.
Hope you have/had a great time!

My thoughts as well. Let’s see if a two week handicap slows him down at all. And enjoyed the trip.

Next month in Dakka (unofficial) Monthly Painting Challenge : Januine glues both thumbs together, wears dark-shades, and still manages to raise the bar for the painting standard.

Okay, because of my other topic and not wanting to spam up P&M, I've not posted much on my progress.

But here's my thing, now 99% ready to receive paint.
I just need to sort out the back of the pod because I'm not a happy bunny with that join.

(Please ignore the shockingly furry state of my curtain, my cat likes to sleep on it, and I'm too short to get it down from the rail)

Yeah, I think we're going to have to insist that next month, Januine has to paint blindfolded, Kustomer D can't convert anything and Polonius only gets 3 days (because anyone who can paint a full Contemptor Talon in a week is clearly superhuman!) And they'd probably all do just as well! (all in jest, of course, not to be taken seriously!)

@Kustomer: yep, that's fine!

@Kriswall: as you noted, you can really enter that, but it's darn nice all the same!

Has been a n awesome time home and in Italy but damn but my painting fingers are itching to get back to it!!!!! Really looking forward to the dominus - imho one of the best GW has done in a while. Will be a big difference from the bright colourful harlies of last month and now with added weathering powders ..... If I get it all done; back to Korea Saturday, back to work Monday.

@ buttery - that Aquila is looking amazing. What's the pod thing at the back - does that drop down/out?

Done!

Here is my glorious Warboss-Deff-Dread along with a bunch of mechanical Bombsquigs.
One had a little malefunction, so I reach the limit of 5 minis
This was really fun to put this together. The whole thing is completely scratchbuilt, as the bombsquigs are, too.

Good luck to everyone!!!

begining to get a touch nervous.....2 weeks(ish) to go and I've got feth-but-nothing done yet.....o.O Oh well - a 1hour and then a 10 hour flight tomoro on which I almost certainly won't sleep - plenty of planning and sketching time there!! Wish I had some of m'paints, figs and brushes with me though - painting at 35,000feet up would be a bit of a giggle eh??!!!! (the wife cocks an eyebrow and says 'no'!!)

I'm still cleaning flash off of my entries too. I think I'll probably get them done still...once the airbrushing starts there won't be much left to do.

Today I learned that while fun, drunk painting is a terrible idea. this is after I woke up and found half of my talon body was haphazardly coated with several layers of P3 rucksack tan. Drunk me did do some great work coating the cockpit viewscreens with glow in the dark paint, and I think he ordered some LED kits from a model train store. I still have to fix the guns, though.

I'm trying to recreate that ugly desert tan vehicle paint from iraq, that seemed to be on every MRAP or Challenger. Anyone got any advice?

I ruined my stormtalon too by being drunk, lol.

Are you going the mech route with that?

I swear, of all the things that people dream of doing in an aeroplane, that is not usually one of them. Trust Dakka members to subvert everything.

I'm actually backwards from my last update. Started sanding down areas that annoyed me.

yeah, I think. Its my first conversion, so I wanted the engines in back, like the turbines on an Abrahms, or a Challenger for you bonglanders. I magnetized a couple of autocannons from a defense turret, and I planned on a set of arms as well. I know if I add the autocannons, it can't be played, but I like guns. The legs and arms are all wood because I don't have any of this plasticard stuff you all use, so it is that or plastic gift cards to cover holes.

I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what the drek I am doing. If it wasn't for my therapist pushing me, I would trash it and go back to drinking. I can't sleep anyway.

The rucksack tan turned out alright as an undercoat, I think.

Nah keep it up. So many people make mechs out of those, just google "Stormtalon 40k mechwarrior," or replace Mechwarrior with mech.

Also, check this out for your reading pleasure.

Gah...all I read was it requires chunks of old, expensive, no-longer-made models to build. I'm in love with conversions, but it rubs me raw to see a kit be turned into a parts bin because you used something vital.

Also, the rules....I am on thin ice here, so stop me if I say something dumb, but wouldn't a walker tank be really easy to see, line of sight wise? I think it would only make sense to make walker aircraft. I'm not sure this thing is an advantage over a plain jane tank.

No clue. I've seen it done before. I just thought you could get inspiration from it for the legs?

Anyways, for my robot creation I am thinking of stealing a paint scheme from this. Thoughts on which one/any of them? I am thinking a mix of the top left pattern.
