@Ratius: the whole point of asking for Proof pics is to prove that the minis are being painted while the challenge is running, so I'm afraid you can't enter those. Sorry.

Here are my Sputniks, in rawest form possible. I'll start cleaning soonly. One will be green, a lighter shade with a touch of brown and the other will be red with a slight bend towards pink.

Is it acceptable to enter without any WiP pics?
I have a set of WL/WG I'd love to enter but they are literally 20 years old and I have no way of proving a WiP pic from back then

I can offer this pic from 2011 however to obviously prove they are mine and are years old?

Those are pretty cool even if you can't enter them in the challenge! I enjoy seeing some of the older models, gives me some idea what the game was like when I was too young to play it!

As for my entry, it's coming along nicely. The red skin is all done, so all that's left on the torso and arms is the details (oh, and the giant metal claw, can't forget that!). I should easily finish this challenge in time for my August 22nd tournament outing. I didn't realize how much fun painting a Soul Grinder could be, especially since I'm trying new things with it (like multiple highlights and glazes). I just hope it fits the theme better than my entry last month fit that theme!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Can I add a second Obliterator to my challenge for this month? I made so much progress on the first that I want to finish another. Here is the second with the WIP of my submitted Obliterator in the back. I am painting them for my brothers Death Guard army. I wanted to go with a lighter mint green armor throughout his warband so that it really pops on the table and contrasts with all the rust and grime.

I think I found the parts of my dreadnought but with only 20something days left I don't want to risk running out of time to paint while tweaking the build. Gonna stick with those remotes as even if I try to get fancy with the airbrush, they shouldn't take longer than I have to work.

Hey guys, I just finished my Imperial-Fist-Walker-Thing and it turned out even worse than I ever thought.
I think I should stay with Orks or IG-Commandos

Does it fit the idea of the topic, if I let some normal SM (IF) try to help their buddy?
Or are they to human???

So long as the Machines are still the focus and you don't go over the model limit, yeah you can add some infantry.

One of my skitarii wasn't based (miscounted the number of cloaks needed (actually, I thought the half cloak was a complete cloak for the leader)) and balanced him on the roughly undercoated Kataphron alike. I like it and I think I will keep it.

Also, the big fething axe needs to be repositioned slightly and painted before finally going on (the pic shows it being check to fit it going in the hand. I'd like the fingers to bend around it more, but it's metal and I'm worried the arm will come off. I suppose if it does, it can be glued on again).

That tank means business. Crap.

So I may try to get my batroid painted up with the Sputniks ambushing it but.. That may be pushing the envelope. I do have the spitfire sputnik cleaned and ready to be mounted on pins for painting, gotta do the other. This will be like my second or third foray into painting a model in pieces in an effort to paint it better. I've done some magnetized marines that came apart but that was a side benefit of their condition. Typically, I paint virtually everything in one piece even to my detriment... Old habit.

So yeah hopefully I get the other one prepped, both mounted, and get to work painting soon.

He is the Tech Priest Dominus that GW put out with the Cult Mechanicus release.

He is straight from the blister, no changes or anything to him.

Some more progress. He now has his second of four arms complete.

I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring.

I'm assuming this counts since it's a Tau Empire XV-8 Crisis Battlesuit. The pilot is inside and you can't see him!

I never liked the old Farsight and was excited when the new one was released. The new one looked cool, but was Finecast and about the size of a standard Crisis Suit. I wanted something impressive! I ended up taking am XV-88 Broadside and converting it to give it the same pose as the official Farsight model. I used the XV-104 Riptide shield to make him look more impressive. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out.

The last pic is to show you the scale and to show that, yeah, he's much bigger than a normal Crisis Suit, but still fits on a 40mm base.
