I like it! Blacks surprising hard to paint and I've always preferred the more subtle highlighting to that 'high gloss' look a lot of people do.

Two nice looking tanks there good work to you both.

OneManNoodles really like the colour and the grime you have added to the tank, its how I think a tank should look

Mine is slowly inching towards the finish line not sure it will be 100% but everything has at least 1 layer of paint on now

Some inspiringly good stuff on show this month, doubly impressive as I'm sure everyone has been busy cramming in mince pies, watching too much TV and sleeping off roast dinners!

Black is super hard also because of how hard it is to make stand out without pushing it too much towards another colour or make it look too much like another material than what you're going for D:

I'll pluck you like a flower.

I don't think I have a prayer of finishing in time, but I will post a WIP shot of how far I get as my entry. Won't get many votes, but I hopefully will still qualify for participation points.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Unfortunately I'm not gonna make it this month. My wife went into hospital just before Christmas and 13 inlaws came to stay with me, so not had much time for painting.
Half finished a landraider, but unless I can say that the grave wardens I was supposed to be painting are hidden inside it there's no way I'll make enough progress by tomorrow.

Hi all, long time no see. I've been around watching, but hobby time limited until this month. I didn't want to post this until I knew if there was even a remote chance of success.

Para, I would like to enter the Balrog again, I am posting a link to a thread below to explain why I feel it can be included based on no paint touching it until December, please let me know if you think it doesn't count - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/674865.page

Cheers everyone.

Cheers Para, on nights at the mo, so will see how much I can get finished. Luckily my wife and children are off to the in-laws for New Year's so I get about 5 hours alone in the house which I can use a large chunk of to do some painting!!

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm going to have to bow out of the competition this month I'm afraid.

My wife and I are going to be taking a last-minute trip to see her family for the new year and I will not be able to get any painting in at all over the next three days I'm afraid, meaning I won't be able to finish off my Death Company Marine sadly.

I just wanted to chime in and let folks know, and apologize for the slack on my part. I'll hopefully be able to participate next month once the Holidays are past and things get back to some semblance of normal.

Take it easy for now.

See you guys next month, when I will hopefully have less RL stuff going on to cut into my painting!

Well, as per usual, I bailed on NYE as soon as the drugs came out (usually signals the evening taking a turn for the unenjoyable, especially as a teetotaller), so I thought I might as well get my vow pictures up:

Got them finished, although I must admit that I am not very happy with them. I think that they will be re-visited at one point, but any way here are the (nasty quality) final pics (unless the weather clears up tomorrow and I can beat the deadline).

I am loving the different entries this month, looking forward to the voting thread so I can see them all in one place!

Good luck and Happy New Year to all!

Just a quick FYI, I'm not gonna finish everything but I'll paint till midnight and then use Paras normal deadline amnesty to take pics and get them up, so expect something from me in a few hours.

P.S. Happy New Years everyone

Wow, lots of last minute entries! Good stuff, everyone!

Since so many people have been pressed for time, I'm going to leave the vote compilation until fairly late on the 1st (mid-afternoon to evening GMT, I imagine) so there's still a good 15 hours or so to get something entered! I appreciate everyone has more important things to do than paint toy soldiers at this time of year!

Happy new year, y'all!
