Greetings!

I am relevantly new to the 40k war gaming hobby and have been switching from which army I've wanted to play however I've come to the conclusion that I would like to play Death Korps of Krieg with Grey Knight allies, just need help on how to make this army..Looking for as much information that you can give me as well on beginner info.

Krieg! What a hole...

Buy this http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-CA/Imperial-Armour-The-Siege-of-Vraks

and then that http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-CA/Heavy-Artillery-Carriage-with-Earth-Shaker-Cannon (with crew)

and then that http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-CA/Imperial-Quad-Launcher-Thudd-Gun (with)

then get troops and HQ, rain fiery death on everything.

Heavy weapon teams might actually be decent, because unlike standard IG WT, they won't have to do LD checks

Prepare to give a lot of your money to Forge World. Also, why Grey Knight allies?

From talking to a friend who worked at GW, he says the most powerful Astartes Chapter is Grey Knights, so I have a GK Terminator Squadron that I haven't done anything with yet.

Siege of Vraks has the rules for playing DKoK in it. Also, I wouldn't just do an allied army because some friend said that they are THE most powerful Marine chapter. Because GK really are not

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Although, if he is doing a Siege of Vraks themed army, GK allies might be worth considering.

Honestly I want an army of DKoK that won't heavily rely on needing a lot of troops in order to win, and my pal stated I would need allies in order to do that.

In the fluff GKs are the strongest. In the game GKs are far from it.

From reading online I also heard that DKoK can only have Grey Knight,Blood Angels or Dark Angels as Astartes ally's, this any true? And if not who do you suggest as an ally either way

DKoK can have any ally. Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Tyranids, Tau Empire and so on.

No thats not true. Those 3 factions are Allies of Convience (which is worse then Battle Brothers). Most of the other Imperium of Man armies (including regular Space Marines and Space Wolves) are Battle Brother allies (the Vraks book tells you the specifics)

And you don't need allies so its hard to suggest any. I wouldn't really suggest GKs. An Imperial Knight maybe?

An krieg army is usually build with a gun line with atillery. Artillery has and needs a lot of foot infantry crew.
The other route is going for krieg cav. But that is also quite a lot of models. Krieg has better infantry rules and you pay for it.

If you like Imperial guards with less infantry I would advise to go normal IG with lots of vehicles and order some FW krieg pilots to change the feel of the army to Krieg.
Get these sets for your tanks

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/Death-Korps-of-Krieg-Tank-Commander-Set
Or go full FW tank if you have the money for it.

As allies you might want to reconsider grey knights. If you want to field something powerful go for imperial knights or regular marines but it might help if you read upon the krieg fluff. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Death_Korps_of_Krieg

IA 12 is the other DKoK list, it is cheaper to get a list together compared to the siege list. Plus you get to use the cool imperial navy fliers

Going tanks isn't really good, unless you're going for specialist pattern, if you want large AP 3 blasts, you can get 2 of these for the price of one with Earthshaker carriages vs LR

Alright so I'm willing to just do a basic DKoK army, honestly I have no interest in using IG, but now I need help creating a list, I do want a couple tanks with infantry troops but what do I need and also how do I even play in general, I need basic info now, I know basic lore of 40k, just not the actual logistics of it all. Sorry if I'm not understanding a lot of this.

Word of advice, never take a store owner/ employees advice on what is and isn't good. Even if they are friendly with you at the end of the day they are pushing product.

Now am I able to ask for help creating a list here? Or do I need to take this to a different section of the 40k thread.

K lest make a flow chart and ignore if the model look "krieg" or not it isn't about that it is about the TYPE of models used not about the IG army faction they belong to.
