A lot of the newest models come with alternate normal sized bases.
If you're not looking at playing in tournaments, I'd probably suggest sticking to the original 40mm bases. Then if you get the new big fancy models, assemble them with the scenery pieces, then use the older models for the smaller based versions of them.
JimmyWolf87 wrote: Knight being Knight then. How long has 2nd Edition been out? As per a lot of comments here; lovely display pieces but... yeah....
2nd is just over 2 years old so no worse than a GW edition change really. It's not necessary but the changes look really neat and bringing it into a far more modern game IMO, I just want to see the full rules now so I can play
GW is generally four years between editions.
GW is completely variable between editions. 6th - 7th was about 2 years, AoS to AoS 2.0 was about 2 years I think, and there’s rumours of 9th 40k next year which would be 2 years as well I think.
Ya and 6th and 7th edition 40k was about the worst game in history, it was what got me out, 8th kinda got me back.
As far as Batman, it has been a great game if the new edition can speed things up a little it might be worthwhile. I haven't seen any of the new rules demo so i have no clue. I thought about Batbane, he looks cool and the black friday deal isn't bad but you don't get a discount on the set so the discount on Batbane kind of gets squished. The free shipping is nice but I think i gotta go the cheap route on this one and pass on Batbane and wait til a few other retails list their preorders to save some money.
Batbane is available separately if you stick in it the search bar (I think it's because it's catalogued in the DC area of the shop).

Engineer: "Because it's a gift shop!"

It's a LOT faster. There's a lot about 3rd's objective system that needs more play time to really judge the game properly, but speed is one of the big improvements in a lot of areas.
Easy E wrote: Is there less standing around and babysitting objectives for the whole game in 3rd edition?
It seems like a lot of the emphasis is on camping on objectives, and not enough on smashing face.
Yeah. The old objective system is gone and replaced with an objective deck that looks like some kind of lovechild between Malifaux and Shadespire. The contents of that deck and how they tailor it to each crew's playstyle is the big wildcard in my mind. Everything I've seen points to a better game, but that deck is too important to really evaluate the game without having some significant experience with.
According to some people on the BMG Facebook groups, Knight has delayed Third until Jan 15th and is giving a Third Edition Joe Chill model to anyone who pre-ordered through them.
So preordered Batman 3rd edition on 12/9 just got the email from the online store i bought it from saying they had to cancel my order. The distrubutor they were getting Knight Models products from will no longer be doing business with Knight Models or taking orders for them.
First my LGS two years back now my online supplier. Knights models really needs to do something with their distribution.

The UK store I preordered through put up a notice saying they are not taking any more orders from knight models until they sort their crap out. They have said the boxsets they ordered will be arriving "soon".
Not sure if it’s the same in the US but Knight models have just opened up an Amazon prime storefront in some countries in Europe so you can get next day delivery straight from them although it is at full retail price. Wouldn’t be surprised if that has annoyed some stores.
Finally ended up getting my 3e starter after the long long delay. Here they had been doing relatively well with CS and shipping and then they bungle the release.
I'm not surprised to hear stores are dropping doing orders with them. Disappointed that Knight has continued to bungle things enough for it to be a thing. I'll stick with it though for now, I enjoy the game and the few games I have played with the 3e rule set they posted online have been good, if lacking in clarification on matters.
On to release news.
It's Lady Shiva.
And it's her GW like Release Teaser Video.
Jason Todd, The Red Hood, in the current or recent Red Hood outfit.
His GW like, release Video.
I'll get Hood, maybe Shiva. I'm more interested in whether or not Shiva (and her Video's 2nd Quote) means we will be getting Orphan aka Cassandra Cain, her daughter. More importantly if we get Orphan, will we get Spoiler?
And just when i was thinking to myself today i wonder if they will update red hood's look to reflect the comics. I don't play but i do collect some of the models so he made my must buy as one of my fave dc "heros".
