I tip my hat to you sir! I could only name about 5 of them!

To be fair I don't think they did the Ryu/Ken thing of palette swaps who play almost identically; each of the ninjas does have their own move set and stuff.

They don’t even look close to identical anymore. That was more the tech of the age than anything. Tremor is HUGE, muscular and slow, while guys like Noob focus on teleport strikes and dimensional rift disappearances (ok, Scorpion has a move like that too). Rain is a combo chainer with ridiculous weather control and is a prince of Edenia (yes, PRINCE RAIN in Purple gear, he was a joke character originally). Chameleon even became female and has some moves from each of them. So yeah, they’ve evolved a lot. And Ermac looks more like a mummy now and is the physical manifestation of Quan Chi’s soulnado.
Now I want to play MK11. And I’m honestly not a fan of that Red Hood. I prefer the motorcycle fetish look. That’s a term Joker used, I wasn’t the first to say it.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

After binge watching Gotham on Netflix I've really got a hankering for this game. I've seen and really like the models, but understand there's quite a lot of negative feelings towards this. I'm not reading through the past 60 pages of this topic so could anyone sum up the current state of the game and help me to decide whether or not to commit and start buying.
My favoured online seller has a lot of this reduced and with Salute coming up I'm sure I'll find a bargain or two, but is it a game worth getting?
I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

So... there's a new edition that launched in a very unfinished state; closer to beta rules in print form only. Since then the starter has come out, some of the big issues have been resolved, and the new edition is finding its footing.
The current big problem is that the new edition plays heavily on objective decks that are tailored to each faction and there's only decks for a couple of them at the moment. There's a generic one, but if you play someone like say, the Riddler, who had every rule on his card changed to something that references his not yet released objective deck.... it can be frustrating.
There's also just the issue that 2nd edition was just a couple years ago, and some stuff that's fairly recent got discontinued and other things that create community unrest.
All of that said, as someone very put off by the way the change was handled, I think the new edition has a lot of potential and if you're just getting started its a great time to do so. They did a really great job streamlining a lot of the busywork that bloated the game time and I'm really looking forward to giving it a try now that its finding its feet again. I'd just start small, play a few games to get a feel for it and see if its your thing.

I was gonna wait until everything for this release had been shown off, but I can just post more.
First up the new Batbox;
Harley Quinn and the 'Birds of Prey' featuring the Cassie Cain that shouldnt have been their first Cassandra Cain.
Barbara Gordon as Oracle, he card notes her as having the Brave and the Bold and the Birds of Prey affiliation (BoP replaced the Gotham City Sirens affiliation for some reason in 3e)
A new Katana, who also features the Brave and the Bold and Birds of Prey Affiliations.

Also for those in the US it seems like at least one of the distributors that used to carry Knight Models have dropped them meaning stores that used to be able to get stuff can't any more (and people who had preorders for stuff missed out)

That is apparently everything for the March releases per the new email. There's also a tease for a new Ivy, but it doesn't appear to actually be releasing in March.

The BoP stuff looks great and I'm happy to see them get a fleshed out crew.
That said, I hope to see Soldiers of Fortune in the next update for 3rd. Updated boxes, the objective deck, and maybe some new Militia and Mercs to help give that crew some options for forces.
SoF has tons of options now. They need an objective deck like everyone else, but with 2 batboxes and a 2P starter half, they have one of the larger pools of leaders and henchmen out there.

The email was sent prematurely in an unfinished state which is why only some people received it. That is actually an existing Ivy (the one who comes on a large scenic base), it looks like she is being rereleased for the new edition and her card is also going to be available in a “Birds of Prey” card deck. The contents of the card pack seem to be completely wrong from the email so hopefully it includes quite a few second edition models.

This is assuming that they'll be updating the DKR box (which was not done for the Batman side). I imagine they'll be updating at least the Bane box, but I don't think that Militia is guaranteed an updated box/cards.
Either way I'm looking forward to whatever the update and the new models end up being.
The Batman side hasn't been updated because they haven't put out the Card Pack for the Brave and the Bold yet. If the Militia don't get updated in their Card Pack update that would be odd, but not entirely unexpected. They are moving away from the Arkhamverse in their releases.
I hope they don't push out the Militia, but they could. It would be dumb considering they are one of the Batboxes.

The DKR box is still 100% valid and doesn't need updating (only thing that changed is movement stat and trait definitions which can all be easily found in the rules documents). The Batman side don't have an update deck for model cards and aren't likely to get one either because they already have their faction deck out as part of the new starter. Also, the DKR box is all valid in League and they aren't in the League pack either (even DKR Talia who is only League)
Yup, you just use your existing card. Traits do whatever the compendium says they do now. Stats are the same except move which is 4+2xMove. I'm not a huge fan of dirty porting like that, but it is what it is. The DKR starter is on the Standard list and everything. You can also check out the Facebook groups, where people have done a fantastic job porting the stats over to the new card style for people that want to print them out for reference.

I'm aware of conversions and players who create updated cards and such (of which I have downloaded everything I personally own and can print at any point).
There's a significant difference between an official update with a physical product and player conversions/homebrew. I'm of the camp that I'd rather just have official product and not have to spend time running arts and crafts for things that need updating. I'm aware the option is there and I will use it if I must, but when the official stuff drops I'll be much happier with my collection.
