I would bet space station. Makes the most sense as it has rooms and corridors, and there's great movie/game tie-ins possible. Could even have rules for zero-g events or hull breaches.

Probably not very. They are not in quite the same scale, being a few mm shorter than the resistance. Also, the TG resistance soldiers are ...not my favorite. They are designed to be two pieces that push fit together, with quality that varies from as "high" as Mars Attacks Martians down to EM 4 Gangers The WGF survivors are superior in every way except branding and cost less than half the price per mini.

Hmm... actually, WGF are on the taller/truescale side of things so might actually work with the T:G figs (Which seem to be sculpted at 1/48 scale), more than, say, Bolt Action figs (heroic 28mm). I wouldn't be surprised if the forthcoming US Infantry are at least "close enough" to match the T:G figs. Anyone have any T:G figs w/ the Apocalypse Survivors set scale comparison shots?

Yeah I'm looking forward to those modern infantry plastics too. Got a copy of Black Ops hanging around and Skirmish Sangin along with Skirmish Outbreak currently in the post. Some decent US infantry minis would be perfect for those all of those.
Also contrary to my previous post I spotted a box of the original WGF zombies in my FLGS yesterday. Yeah they are pretty bad so I didn't buy them. However they also had the female zombies and female survivor sets which are much better looking and I couldn't resist. Hurrah! more plastic for the pile of unbuilt projects.

Had a look at the military sprues yesterday. they're not just US military. they come with alternate heads - various helmet styles, boonie hats, balaclavas - and weapons - british, russian, US and a few more. It's a really useful modern generic troops set.

I think the options are quite deceptive; there's plenty, but so many that only fit on certain bodies that once you've built a dozen or so you need to break out the GS and knife to avoid doubling up. Hence why half of mine are unbuilt. I actually think if they sold them as individual sprues for a fiver or so each, they'd be a lot better; I'm not overly familiar with the zombie gaming genre, but I can't really think of a game where you'd want 30 survivors (or 60 if you get both sets). Maybe for RPGs, where you want multiple versions of the same character model or something, but other than that, 30 definitely seems like too many.
I also think the set could do with more 'passive' hands/arms, non-gun weapons, tools (wrenches, torches, maps, that kind of thing) rather than having nearly everyone get hold of a gun come the Zompocalyse.

That's cool. Hopefully the poses are more modular than the survivors. Any chance of pics?

The best thing about this to me is that it's not a kickstarter
The options on the survivors don't seem that limited to me but I'm a pretty heavy converter. The joined torso/legs are the biggest drawback IMO.

The Walking Dead game allows different versions of the same character (as they progress through the story timeline) and allows them to be equipped differently each time you play via equipment cards. The ability to model your 'character' three ways with the (now) Warlord kit is pretty cool for games like this that allow advancement, differing equipment load outs, or campaign play.

One thing I did notice with the military sprues is that torsos and legs appear to be separate, so that might help with variety as well, although I don't know how well different torsos fit on different legs etc.

I can!
(And thanks for the link!)
We were lucky enough to visit Warlord Games today at just the right time!
As you can see below, this is a sample plastic sprue that was created by Wargames Factory of Ultramodern multipose warriors. These were never released prior to the deal made with Warlord Games. The idea behind the sprue is that you can use the weapons attached to the arms or the spare items to create warriors from a number of different armies, so you can use the AK74 arm and a suitable head for Russian troops, the M4 arm for US forces or the SA80 arm for UK troops for a range of theatres of operation.
As this was one of the original versions of the sprue layout from Wargames Factory, there are more weapons than warrriors that can be constructed. The good news is that Warlord Games have re-designed the sprue to include more torsos and legs, so you can construct more figures per sprue but still have a range of weapon and other options.
These will be out at Salute, as will the new Project Z boxed wargame – it’s time to gather weapons and ammo and prepare for the zombie apocalypse!

Those sprues are pretty packed! And according to the article, there's now more legs/torsos per sprue than the pics thanks to a WLG redesign, which is good (there's quite a horrific arm/body imbalance on the original sprue, you'd be wasting a lot of plastic with only 4 guys per frame and 20-odd arms)
Price and final contents pending, I'd be very tempted to pick up a box, put together half a dozen or so guys for various nations (from the look of the sprue and what they say, there's parts for US, British and Russian troops, so a fourth militia/insurgent faction wouldn't be too hard to do either) and write up some rules for a tabletop version of CoD/Battlefield-multiplayer-style games; if I can make them familliar-ish/play like the video games, and simple enough, it might be a good one for playing with less wargamery types.
