Cheers man, yeah i you might be on to the problem; because the red is such a bright colour its clashing with everything.
Perhaps if i drabbed it down a bit the yellow or blue might work better... hmmmm.

Started work on my 8x8 battlewagon.

Had to think about the wheel placement for.this one as just sticking them on the outside didn't go so well with the truck, so Ive gone for a ribbed aproach which has worked brilliantly in allowing me to have cut in wheels without to much work.

Great start, going to be quite big.

Cheers cam! debating on what colours to paint it atm. haha yeah its about as long as my stretched rhino on the previous page, but not as wide. Taller though. Had to make it big enough to accommodate the wheels from ramshakle, but then a bw is quite big so that's ok. Still not bigg enough to hold 20 orks though. oh gw scale.

Its that age old problem, if you are building something to be a legally usable at tournament, or if it would be allowed at the local flgs, or playing amongst friends, or like me just for fun. GW scale is so far out it is nearly impossible to guesstimate sizes.
Can't wait to see this progress. Nice to see some Orky action.

Looking forward to seeing how the battle wagon turns out.

Progress to date, it is quite big cam you were right, infact it was so big I had to lower it twice!

We like lowered, maybe some side pipes and neons, oh hang on meant to be ork battlewagon right! hehe. Actually really like where this is going, looks brilliant, nice shape, good height, think it would be odd if taller. Especially if you are going to go with a turret at all. Yup really like it, good job.

cheers man, tail pipes might be an idea though, was thinking of giving it a plasma drive or something though.

Update on my bw. After looking through my inspiration folder which is now massive due to me trawling the web for all those wicked scratch build vehicles; i decide the best of them are covered in armour plates strapped, welded and bolted on any which way. So i've decide to try and cover the shell of my wagon completely in plates.

While doing this i've discovered what i think is the best approach. Start off by deciding where you want hatches, vents and other features to go and stick them on (which i did not do ). Then shove on some big plates over large areas, creating a rough layer around the shell. Finally add smaller plates, rivets and details to fill in the gaps and create overlaps. And for gods sake chip it all BEFORE you put it on .

That's looking pretty sweet already. Loving the battered plate edges, looking forward to more updates

Some progress, actually incredibly hard to decide wear to put plates and what size Also very little time on my hands recently, you guys know how it is. decided on the access panels and started doing some layering on the front as orks don't need rear armour

APC/battle wagon update
So More or less finished my Ork APC! Really pleased with how it looks so far. Very low and menacing.
Thought this would take ages but it came together really quick at the end. Although still needs rivets and the axles gluing in place, and the riveting alone will take a while.

I had originally intend fr the gattling gun/big shoota to be manually operated but decided against this as it looks more action-y this way.

Sorry about the camera, my normal one is acting up, however will get some better pics up when riveted.

Colour scheme ideas/ ork clans of Golgotha
Uploaded these on the last page but they seemed to be in the wrong format; i got around with by using paint
I am really struggling to decide! ;yellows a to paint, reds to much well red, blue clashes but i do love lootas, grey seems to dull!

The easiest thing would be to do some testers but the 3rd/2nd edition boys i have just don't do, and i didn't have any plans of buying any more anytime soon.

A penny for your thoughts gentlemen?

I'm inclined to agree if i'm honest looking at them now, my only hang up is grey vehicles seem dull, but i'm thinking i could do them red.

Think I would tend towards the greys, though would be tempted to go black.

Yeah i think the greys is the way to be honest, will do some painting soon and then if it work get some squads done.

Think i'll have the vehicles mostly red with greys mixed in, would also like to do the triangle/teef yellow but will have to see if that's not to bright.

Started on the boyz

Started base coating the boyz and realised i don't have a grey so had to mix one, also found my black was rubbish and oil based so i'll pick some paints up tomorrow if i have time.

However the grey looks good so far, happy i can get on with them now.

Also really quickly boshed a pk on to the nob, really needs tiding up tbf.

Yeah that gray uniform scheme offsets the red nicely! good choice! and Viks suggested vehicle camo should work as well.

Yeah, might do the different slabs of armour those colours and see if that works. Also leaning away from red tanks but will try one at least. Want to get a squad or two painted up so i can do a more interesting starting post aha.

Also just bought a few more bitz & kitz which should arrive soonish. If i stick to scratch building i may even have a tabletop-able army sometime soon.

Well, while the rule for the "Red onez go Fasta applies if they have a red paint job, I also added a blue racing stripe, "just fer luck!"

Ork apc bw riveted

So got a load of supplies in along with some diamond embossed plasticard which is real fun, so i got the armoured ork carrier (aoc) riveted and sprayed!

At the rear of the aoc iv'e used some vents and hatches for the engines and added the mech symbol so the boyz steer clear of his domain!

Also got some Golgothan sand in

I'm loving that apc, stonned_astartes! It screams orkiness
