I went to buy this week's white dwarf, opened it up with the owner and it's ALL AoS Orruks. 100%. Ok, except the back page that is noise marines. Because I bought the Renegade box anyway, he told me not to take the WD, since it didn't have what I was looking for.
But yes, for anyone wondering: NO RENEGADE RULES IN THIS WEEK'S WD!!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Why are there noise marines on the back page?

It was on the page that had the information for Dakka for next week. Just an image of them. Looked like the current model with LOTS of conversions everywhere. Heads and a unit champion that looked much different. I'm not familiar with Forgeworld NM stuff, but I'm assuming they were probably FW parts added on.

Anyone have a clean print of the rules? I'd like to use a version that doesn't have a cat in it.

Eh. I picked up the box this weekend. It is impressively heavy.

It really is a great box. They should have put in a 2nd weapon sprue though, esp. with the renegade knight rules having dual gats. Not having easy access to those weapons is annoying, and bit sites for those parts are both outrageous and out of stock.

Yeah, but now they can trick you into buying a third Knight!

Honestly, they should sell the upgrade sprue separate the way they do for the Land Raider Crusader.

Almost all of the upgrade packs are available on the US GW site, so I don't know what you are getting at.

There's 13 "fundamental" Chaos items "sold out" on GW USA.

Black legion pads, Death Guard Pads, Chaos Space Marines Sorcerer with Force Staff and Plasma Pistol, Emperor's Children Lord, Chaos Space Marines Biker Upgrade Pack, Chaos Space Marines Bike, Possessed, Traitors of Chaos, Crimson Slaughter: A Codex Supplement, Black Legion: Codex Chaos Space Marines Supplement, The Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Collection, Chaos Space Marines, & Crimson Slaughter: A Dark Vengeance Expansion Set.

I am hoping (since I am putting together a Nurgle army & a GW insider friend of mine for 10 years has hinted at) a new Chaos codex & minis coming out later this year. Or maybe they are retiring some of those things. Who knows. However, we usually see soon-to-be-redone lines start to be "sold out" online....

On the UK site there's also - Chaos Space Marines Tank Accessories, Chaos Space Marines Vehicle Accessories, Chaos Space Marines Chirugeon Backpack, Chaos Mutations, Chaos Space Marines Iron Warrior Shoulder Pads, Chaos Space Marines Emperor's Children Shoulder Pads - sold out as well.....

Very reliable sources have already specified no CSM book until next year at the earliest. Unless that schedule moved up drastically (yeah right), I wouldn't hold your breath.

I agree there may be something in the works but not just CSM. Way too many models are "sold out" "no longer available" instead of just being "temporarily out of stock". Look other factions too. . Maybe new models in the works? Or is GW having production issues?

They're at the back of the mission book for Renegade. Assembly instructions are just for the Knight Warden kit.

Nice cat hehehe. Are the renegade rules in the box set legal in games of 40K?

Does it specifically say they aren't?

No?

Then play them.

John I did not know so I figured I would ask heh. My daughters Barbie dolls don't say I can't play them so I guess I will include those too (note the humorous sarcasm please heh). They can wreck any Titan (c;

I also was not sure if the renegade sheet stated they were for games of 40k specifically.

The first 2 lines under Renegade Knights on the first picture in the first post of this page specifically says that those rules are for Warhammer 40,000. You might need to zoom in to read it (or get the actual printed copy), but it's there.

Nothing says "cogent rules design" like putting rules for a different game inside a board-game with a completely different ruleset, leaving the only people with those rules being the ones that shelled out for the game.

Isn't that basically what happened with all of the Start Collecting boxed sets? Though I agree, it seems like they should release the rules for the Renegade Knight either in PDF form or in a White Dwarf.

I thought the rules for the renegade knight had already been in WD?

I'm pretty sure that's how the 40k Dark Vengeance starter works, with a complete microgame using the supplied components, and the ability to translate up to the full game. It's also consistent with the Knight Warden assembly pamphlet which contains rules for Knights.

I suspect that the Renegade Knight rules should be available for a pittance on eBay.

Rules for the game, not for the unit.
