Troubling times indeed, I'm sorely tempted to redeem my pre orders as cach back, and grab what's available now.

No sign of any of mine being printed, let alone moulded.

More than 3 years after the Kickstarter that funded him closed, Uuroch has still not even been SCULPTED!!

Hey remember when that shoddy company Mealstrom Games ran back to back sales for months including taking pre orders for GW stuff weeks after GW shut there account and then did one with the funds to start a new business and allegedly pay off there mortgage.

Not sure why but that just popped into my head for some reason.

Yeah I am now treating Mierce like I did Maelstrom towards the end... only buy stuff that's in stock, always put it on credit card, and spend £100+ so it's protected by Section 75 in case the company vanishes entirely. :(

I doubt it will vanish entirely the ip and stock will be “sold” to another “unrelated” company and while I say unrelated it will probably be setup by a relation of the owner like last time.

Well, yes, "vanishes for purposes of getting the stuff you paid for", I mean.

I am hoping that they do manage to turn stuff around, and that this isn't the danger sign we're perceiving it to be, mind.

"Hope for the best, plan for the worst."

I asked for all my outstanding KS orders to be cancelled and refunded to moneyback.

They did this for some, but not the minis I had ordered as part of the "loads of Monsters" KS item.

No one seemed to remember that order, I was asked for proof...PROOF, that this was a paid order and not "free" minis.
What fething "free minis" have Mierce ever offered??

I found an old email with the order request and forwarded to them, but so far, no reply...no further refund.

How can you run a business yet not keep track of orders?

Well the type who is not planning to fulfill them is the obvious answer or just one who ran that many KS they don't even know what there doing.

If you’re referring to the ‘Many monsters’ deals from mighty monsters KS. When you paid for the deal, you essentially got extra minis for what you paid. For instance, there was a version where, if you got the £400 deal, you would choose £500 worth of minis. Just grab your email from when you placed the order, it should have the breakdown of what you chose in total for the deal. Then they can remove those items and give you the correct money back.

Or do you mean "New Wave" who did exactly that and then turned into CoolMiniOrNot?

Funny, Mierce is still sending out packages (got another small box recently and a buddy got some of his KS Ysians), releasing new product, and clearing out old stock. Sounds kind of like a business?

To be fair, they have a small number of employees (4? 5?) and a HUGE KS burden to work through, but their SKU count keeps increasing. And people keep ordering, which shows business continuation, if not growth.

Are thing being produced as fast as I would like? No, but I am patient and still have tons of minis to work on. Much like my orders from Kingdom Death, Marrow, CMON, Modiphius and Onyx, I will get them when I get them. I mean, Siege st the Citadel is only a couple of years late...

I admire your patience...
But I and many others have 100's of pounds worth of orders on back order.
They haven't even had Uuroch SCULPTED after 3 years, forget bottlenecks with molding, etc, this one hasn't even been STARTED!
Add to that the frustration of seeing other minis getting priority, resculpts no one wants, new minis made, produced and shipped in preference to fulfilling their back orders.
Endless sales that are selling off models at prices lower than the KS "discount" we all agreed to and backed up to 3 years ago!
The models I have on order were sculpted in 3D up to a year ago, just sitting as a computer file, waiting for them to print and mould, and THIS is taking so long?
Their inability to keep track of orders, asking me to prove my Loads of Monsters deal, then ignoring the email I sent showing the transaction!

Sorry, but I am typing the same rant now that I was a year ago, with no sign that any of my order is anywhere close to being completed.

The fear isn't that we are simply waiting a long time, but that Mierce will fold, and we will lose all the money we spent.

I appreciate your grace, but I have simply exhausted my good will towards Mierce.

Totally understand that, but I think the whole metal casting snafu hurt them, and I’m not sure that they have the permits as of yet. And as far as exposure, I too am in for several thousand pounds, but I have also hundreds of KS projects under my belt...so I have sort of been forced to learn patience.

And the quality of the products Mierce usually makes is well worth the wait. Do I want my cavalry now? Yes, but since I have bags of unassembled Jutes, Byzantii, Infernii, Formorii and Ysians on my shelf, I am ok with delays and them not pushing themselves. When people rush, errors and rash decisions can abound. And as I would like to purchase Mierce products for years in the future, I have no wish to see them go the way of Rackham.

Could I be wrong? Yes. I am only 3000 miles or so away from them. So my firsthand knowledge is limited to emails and KS posts. But patience and 35 years of personal gaming history tells me to look forward to the next box from England.

QFT. At this point I find I base my KOW army building / painting on what preordered monsters Mierce delivers to me, which I suppose works fine for me. Finishing up my crab things now, eventually I'll get my giant crocs and can start that army.

Slightly OT, but given Darklands itself isn't the most casual or accessible ruleset, is there any model independent or adaptable ruleset out there that people enjoy? Ideally I'd like something that's relatively low model count, but allows the use of the big stuff too.

The new edition of Saga with the Fantasy bolt on does everything you might need.

Small games are max 4 units plus the boss. A unit will usually be 4,8 or 12 models depending on quality.

But you can scale larger and it includes six “factions” (with the ability to make multiple traditional forces from each) and you can bring in big monsters and war machines.

It’s where I’m planning on using my Warmachine forces now I’m out on PP.

Song of Blades is also quite good (Ganesha Games). I have played Deep Wars a lot, and it uses the same system. Now that I think about it, that will be a more accessible way to get my friends into Mierce…

And then hit them with the rulebook.

Never read the rules to Erewhon, but Mierce miniatures are scaled to 28mm (with some creeping up to 32mm) but if you like the undead, please check out their Jutes. Tons of great undead spearmen, bows and axes, with more coming out. And big bugs and arachnids.

And their Formorii and Ysians would do great for Barbarians. They have a few Orcs in their Banebeasts/Banelords range.

I’ve been pondering whether they’ll play well using the MESBG rules as that’s my main game.

Speaking of scale, are the Mierce infantry 28mm or heroic 28mm? I have mainly avoided the human infantry because I wasn't sure they would fit scale-wise with my Mantic and Historical miniatures.

They're not a consistent scale - which kind of makes sense given the range of (awesome) sculptors used, but it really depends on the unit (and somewhat on when it was sculpted, they got larger in later sculpting projects).

For example, the Jute skeleton spearmen are 28mm, but the lantern ax wihtax and archer wihtboga are more 30mm. Some of the Ysians are 32mm.

One of the Mierce KSers lists the official scale as 30mm.

Yeah, hence Baalor Warriors getting resculpted. Thing is, they might be small, but they do a wonderful job of making things like the Sronax look massive, without, IMO, looking too small themselves.
