Usually the problem with using toys from movies and TV is that they are too recognizable and ruin emersion.

But since no one will remember Avatar 2: The Beach in a few months there's no worry this time.

Was at my local Dollar Tree yesterday, thinking on cheap Halloween stuff, and was able to get

Skeletal Bat
Skeletal Bird
Skeletal Lizard
4 human skeletons in a good size
and
Skeletal Spider .. which bothered me no end and almost threw off my thinking for hours.. cause spiders dont HAVE them..

however, its fantasy, things can happen, and have kinda decided to break the legs off and use them to make fencing or something, .. the bat and lizard will make a dead dragon, and not sure what the bird will do, but it looked interesting as heck

and .. even if the Dollar Tree is now the Buck and a Quarter Store, I spent about 10 bucks and that aint bad

I completed the project to get my childhood parking garage toy ready for the table top. It barely resembles a toy anymore, thanks for the inspiration!

That's often the case, I have a Terminator flyer that's cool as heck, but it's so darn Terminator.

The Avatar thing though seems fairly generic military. Paint it up in a notably different paint scheme and I'm not even sure folks would thing "Avatar" when they see it.

Nice Score! I've got to get some of those skeletons.
I was as critical as anyone of the increase to $1.25 but it really does seem like the quantity of useful stuff for games has gone up since the price range. Especially in the craft section.

Paw Patrol Air Patroller. I saw this in the window of a (closed) charity shop, and when I went back it had been sold. Found another on eBay for £6.

This is one of the nicest Osprey-ish VTOLs I've seen. I'd say it's around 330mm / 14" long and about the same wingspan. Tiltrotors tilt, canopy flips open, and there's a ramp at the back that you could imagine a small tank coming down. There appear to be LEDs in the wings too, though I've not figured out where the batteries go yet...

Passing through Walmart the other evening I saw a kid holding a Star Wars Imperial Troop Transport from whatever their new Mico Collection of vehicles is.

The Stormtroopers are tiny.
But the vehicle looked to be a very nice size - for grots.
Maybe my grots will be getting a new truck....

Next time I'm though WM I'll have to swing by the toy aisles & check it out.

There's been a lot of new discoveries about dinosaurs since I was a kid, with the brown-green lizards being replaced by colorful feathered creatures.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZP7DY8B

This STEM toy, which is exists to teach kids science and research skills shows that there's been more discoveries than I thought.

Not the adults who build them as a hobby. I’m talking about the product that pushes out all the other tie in toys and somehow became the one type of toy people buy for kids’ birthdays.

They'll be at least half off on Nov 1 (maybe earlier), but you'll only get what ever's left.

A few updates for you shoppers at Target.
Found the Lighyear Armadillos on deep discount at Target. Bought 2. If anyone wants one, get in touch and we'll make a deal well under retail.

Also, It looks like they're closing out the Jada GI Joe vehicles. Never could find a Hiss, and I already had the Vamp, but I picked up the Stinger for $5. The Metal Cobra Commander it comes with is kind of crude and around 35mm tall, but the Vehicle is spot-on for 28-30mm.

Lastly, the set below appeared at WalMart. Even though -like most of these playsets- it's really designed as a display piece and the building is likely hollow, there's lots of potential here. Only $25 bucks IIRC. I didn't see any evidence that the subway car has an interior or is openable, but it's still a pretty cool unit. The figures are probably the same 35mm ish scale that the rest of the Jada Nano Metalfigs tend to be.

Has allot of flash and raised writing (see second pic) on the belly, but overall I like it and the paint isn't bad.

Side note: does anyone know where I can get a small shipping box, like 3-4 inches per side?
