Greater Rune of Insults : This rune was created by Vikram the rune master, a bad tempered dwarf known for his harsh insults. The rune returns an enemy attack against himself. Each time a dwarf character with this rune is wounded in close combat, roll 1D6. On a 4+ the attacker gets wounded instead.

I don't see a slave race.
Also, what theme are they trying to go for? The WHFB dwarves were clearly viking inspired with guns, here they seem to be Victorian Steampunk (oh hi tophat) with Norse runes.

Yup, what was pointed out is the named character with the top hat has the rune of the king. Making him the "King" of the overlords.

My god, that just killed them for me...

That just nailed it on the head of what I don't like about them.

Any chance anyone could translate this roughly? Appreciate it!

Major Rune of Terror
It can only be engraved on a war horn instrument. When it is used, the deep and eery sound it produces resonates throughout the battlefield and terrify the enemy. Can only be used once per battle, at the end of the dwarf turn player. Every enemy units must pass a psychology test, if it fails, they can't move nor charge in the following turn. 50 pts

Major Rune of the Kings
This rune can only be engraved on the crown of a Dwarf King. The unit led by the King is immune to fear and terror. Its moral test are always done vs a Leadership of 10, never modified by combat results or magic. So, the number to obtain on a 2d6 is alway 10 or less. 100 pts

Major Rune of Insults
This rune was created by some Dwarven idiot by the name of Vikram, renowned for the virulence of his insults. It returns the attack of an opponent toward him. Each time the ''wearer'' of the rune receives damage in hand to hand combat, throw a d6. On a 4+, it's the opponent who attacked him who receives the damage. 50 pts

As I don't play AoS, some of the terms I used may be off but for anyone whit a little bit of logic, it should be obvious what is meant.

Because people are leaping to conclusions?

Occam's Razor doesn't leap. They drew key art to advertise a new game. That artwork has Sigmarines and Bloodborn (is it Bloodbound? Ok, fine, Bloodbound), therefore the only logical conclusion is that this new game includes stuff from the old game.

There's no leaping happening here.

If there was any indication that the sole artwork.

But there is no such indication. It's a single poster. Or perhaps because the Adeptus Titanicus poster shown off and snapped by yours truly at Warhammerfest last year only depicted a Warlord Class Titan with Two Volcano Cannon and a pair of Turbolaser Batteries, that means the game will also only feature Warlord Class Titans with Two Volcano Cannon and a pair of Turbolaser Batteries? Or that the cover for Codex Craftworlds only featuring a Warlock, Guardians, Vypers and Hemlock mean they're the sole contents of the Eldar army now?

The problem is that we had a very similar debate recently about the Hammerhal box art which turned out to be a complete representation of the contents. The art shown fits too well with the logo to not be the box art. (As in lots of empty space at the top of the image in which to place the logo. Of course I hope the new box has more than the 5 minis shown in the art but even if there are 2 blood reavers and 2 liberators in a box of 50, it will be 4 old and familiar minis that could have been something new and exciting. I also don't think this art is especially exciting. It doesn't evoke any sense of interest.
I am still looking forward to seeing what they show next week but this art has definitely dampened my enthusiasm a bit.

I think it's very clear that whilst the flying ships are different kits, they do share some common repeating elements. Look at the struts holding up the metal balloon thingies. They're all the same. Dollars to doughnuts there's a "metal balloon" sprue that is shared between all three kits as a clever way of saving production costs.

Clearly you ain't been reading my posts. I've always said I will give credit where credit is due.

Just these past days I've said how much I liked the Steampunk Dwarfs, and how the terrain for the Armageddon thing looks really cool. Is it so hard to believe that someone can both like and dislike aspects of the same product, or a series of products?

I'm confused by the name, who are they overlords of?
I don't see a slave race.

Can't really say until we get the Battletome but since their translated name would be Thundership overlords and they're basically pirates dressing high-class I imagine it's a name they made out of pure ego.

Another note is that high king rune. I can't imagine the other Duardin are happy that a clan that seperated from them and is living away from traditional mountain homes to go out flying the skies and avoiding chaos is using that rune so brazenly. (It's not even on a crown afterall)

Probably going to be some heavy tension there.

You will literally find anything to complain about. You really are a miserable so and so. Fingers crossed it eventually kills the hobby for you.

No doubt you will still be on here, getting your ego stroked.

Well, the first part is true but that second part is going a little too far. He's a fellow hobbyist just giving his opinion, that he likes to jump the gun all the time is just the better to not take him so seriously.

But they haven't said anything other than vague hints. They didn't even show off that artwork, someone took a photo of it.

Then there's the point raised above me, how we just had this discussion about Shadows of Hallerfall or whatever it's called and how that artwork turned out to be exactly the contents of the box.

Because the Hammerhal artwork was the box art, and this is a poster? I refer you to my point about the forthcoming Adeptus Titanicus.

You may well be right, and fair enough. But from what we've been told by GW, this won't just be Stormcast vs Bloodbound.

Since the new game will support "competitive, organised play" it's a sure bet it'll be exapandable beyond the contents of the box. So I'm not overly bothered if it actually turns out to be Stormcast vs Bloodbound.

I think it's just going to tie-in with the new starter that's cheaper and has less models.

That's a good mix for a warband focused game.

Sorry, that post wasn't very specific about what had earned my dislike of these. Was waiting to pick up a friend from the airport and didn't have much time.

That model, the close up, really just killed any chance I had of liking them. I had said in an earlier post something was off about their looks and that model exemplifies it.

Hammerhal was the same artwork.

This looks like no box art I've ever seen. Instead, it looks more 'biography' of the Stormcast bloke.

I doubt it considering GW have been very active in promoting and enabling cross-usage of their models between their tabletop and board games.

While it's certainly a bit over-the-top, the new duardin design is executed quite well! Even comparing them to the 2014 dwarf releases, we can see how much crisper the detail is.

Spoiler:

I'm very interested about the lore of these guys; the FB post clearly suggests that they took to the skies to escape chaos, which leads me to believe that the entire society is residing somewhere in skies, possibly a floating city/floating armada of larger vessels. I'm having Bioshock flashbacks.

I do forsee some more 'named character' releases for both. The Stormcast book is worded in a way that suggests this, in more than one place. Would be cool to see a smaller, focused army, led by a named character. They books are starting to make some heroes, getting models would be sweet.

I'm thinking WM/H type gameplay, but with better minis. And all the WH/H players that drip bile from their mouths at the mention of GW, will stay clear so win-win!

I know it must be in 80 point font somewhere but when are these guys set to drop?

Also, on BGG, one poster confirmed that the new AoS starter has a double-sided mat that's vinyl. If so, I may pick that box up---even though I have so much Sigmarine and Khorne stuff right now.

I was tempted, but for the price I may as well get dedicated mat. I don't need anymore Libs or Retributors!
