The Watch Captain looks fantastic.

Artemis doesnt look right to my eyes - the face in particular suffers from that blocky square head that GW seem to have adopted for some of the un-helmed Marines recently. Also not a fan of cloaks.

Does he also look quite large - like bigger (fills the whole base in his pose) than the other marines (which are possibly built on the base CSM kits with the extras from the upgrade sprue to bling them) around him. I hope its not a trend to the AoSification scale creep of the 40K range. I dont want mixed hight/scale Marines like you see between the new AoS Chaos and older WoC stuff.

Artemis does look a little blocky. The GW painting style does not help this. The new model is a deliberate homage to the old Inquisitor model. He was a bit of a giant in that game, so I think the new one is deliberately big.

That and he is raised a tiny little bit on a half buried rock to fit his pose, what chapter was Artemis by the way?

The dropship steals the show for me. When I hosted Deathwatch rpg I had them do missions in the Stormraven for stealthier ones or Thunderhawk for assultier type ones.

This though would have been good to have back then since it looks like it does all the above.

Probably not... I would expect Artemis to be more like the fewer-piece character models that have been the norm this edition, rather than the standard multi-part marine, in which case his shoulder pad is unlikely to be a separate piece.

Maybe a little work would have to be done, but it isn't impossible. Probably.

Dangit GW would have to wait until I'm basically out of funds and THEN release something I would jump all over in a heartbeat. I'm definitely gonna get the starter set as soon as I can scrape together enough cash, as the Deathwatch and Harlies look too awesome to pass up, and what a deal!

Well, from what we have seen thus far this is looking like an awesome release. I just hope the individual DW releases are not priced too daftly. I will happily add the Harlequins to the pile of shame and paint them up when the... muse takes me. Just odd that with DW seemingly being the big August release that we are getting an AOS freebie with the re-tooled White Dwarf.

Also Artemis does look a little chunky, but a bit of that does seem to be down to perspective:

Is it selfish that I want someone to reveal the rules even if they get fired from doing it?

How about a compromise? You can rip up one space marine to turn into a Deathwatch Marine. It's fluffier that way too

So good Looks like the flyer doesn't have a clear plastic cockpit canopy, cant tell if its armoured or painted to resemble glass from the pics though. The one small nigle is the terminators don't look to have moulded chapter badges. The BA and SW have moulded pads while the IH and IF look to have transfers.

The flyer is looking good so far, it's has that squat blocky aesthetic similar to the Cheyenne drop ship from aliens.

I want better pics of the flyer. The assault boxes look weird: is one tilted and the other staight?
Its also weird it dont have a "storm x" name, like "corvus storm star". Sounds positively heretic as of now.
Also there is no hullweapons with line of fire acros the exit path.

Really digging the Watch Boss, and happy for the mk8 fans even if I dont get the hype.

Assault boxes? You mean the doors? They're both equally tilted away from the centre.

I was wondering about that, are those Terminators mainly made up of the current BA and SW Terminator kits? Then all the Deathwatch upgrade Sprue would need Terminator wise is 5 left DW shoulder pads and no chapter specific right shoulder pads.

It's possible that we'll get some Terminator bits on the sprue (specifically the DW pads), but I would not expect Chapter pads for Termies. It's one thing to give us a full suite of regular Chapter pads, but I think we'd be pushing our luck expecting the same thing for Terminators.

Maybe they've made a Deathwatch Transfer sheet that is just covered in all sorts of different symbols, and that will cover the Termy side of things.

Quite a number of the single-frame Marine characters still have one shoulder pad as a separate bit. It's how I've converted almost all of them into DW Marines.

He was giant because marines ARE BIG. He was much better scaled up compared to regular human than 40k. So if they made the 28mm version bigger as a result...They effectively made him bigger than he should be in fluff. That or his scale went up.

He's not noted for being bigger than other marines. Reason why he was bigger than regular humans in Inquisitor is that marines simply are big.

I agree 100% with that. The only Terminators we see with moulded chapter pads are SW and BA, both already have a chapter specific kit so I guess they have just used those kits.

It's bringing back some great memories from that game. It's funny but we had someone become I think it was the artificer prestige class. The one who gets the super cool armor.

Anyways he was fighting an escaped something from the vaults down below that was a cthulhu spawn from hell and ge decided to jump on the writhing mass of tentacled and eye flesh to try and...??? They managed to trap it in the reactors and detonate them destroying it but he couldn't break free to escape and perished.

No idea why they have painted the rim of the base with a trowel though...

But yep, amazing miniature. I love the details such as the trigger for the bolter and the carved Inquisition symbols in his armour.
