Tremble wrote: Are we sure we are getting some Space Wolves (other than the hero) in this box?
The forces shown kinda looks like the Custodes plus Sisters and Bjorn might be one whole side to me.
The Sorcerer, Termies and a squad or 2 of mk3 for the other?
If we need to add in more Marines for the wolves that is a he'll of a lot of models in 1 box.
Well, I guess there will be 30 Space Marines with MK III armor included which can be used as Thousand Sons and Space Wolves.
Both Legions get one special character (Ahriman/Bjorn).
Then it looks like 5 Terminators with Tartaros Armor 5 Custodes and maybe 5 Sisters of Silence.
The price should be higher than for the Calth box ...
A possible scenario is 20 marines, 5 terminators, 5 custodes, 5 sisters and another 5 man squad for the thousand sons side (breachers or something similar) plus the two hq models. That would make 5 more infantry than BAC but no dreadnought. That way the same price would be very feasible.
I think bleachers or any thing else is very unlikely.
I am starting to think there may be a bit less in here than some are hoping for.
I personally have no interest in Custodes or sisters and think these may be the big selling point of this box for GW. If there is only 1 or 2 Tac squads it means more people will end up buying the individual boxes when they are inevitabley released separately.
My current line of wondering is whether the Mk III (or maybe but probably not II) guys have heavy or special weapons, and if so, if they get different ones from the BaC guys. More variety of plastic HH heavy weapons would be nice, but there are also other things they could put in their place on the sprues that would be very interesting to have, as well, like boarding shields, or chainswords and pistols for despoilers, etc.

They'll have to have the standard options. Because, eventually, GW will want to sell them in their own little box, and so they'll need to be fully useable as 40K tactical marines, too.

I would guess that the presumed Mk III Tacticals would get a pretty standard mix of weapons, but with some of the options we didn't get with the MK IVs. Maybe a Plasma Cannon and Heavy Flamer or Rotor Cannon for the power armoured dudes, and a Plasma Blaster for the Terminators?
Well, while the Kabuki models are resin, and thus costly, they are in the right scale, their "not emperor" is 54mm tall a real giant of a man, the one and his bodyguards set is pricey, but they look decent enough. Be interesting to see how the plastic GW Custodes look when all is said and done.

It wouldn't be that much of a retcon to allow Custodes units as allies for Imperial armies under the pretence of protecting someone marked by the divine will of the Emperor. The boys in gold do as they please anyway, who's to say they're not really acting on direct instructions of the Throne?
Like sort of a cooler looking Legion of the Damned.
Armies though, that wouldn't fly even in 30k.
one excuse could be when Girlyman comes back. if you had the only loyal primarch back your have him rolling with some custodes. he could have to take them.

The BaC marines had HB/ML for heavies and plasma/flamer/grav for specials.
They can mix it up, and still be a valid 40ktac squad box. Plenty of other heavy weapons to include (would love a LC/MM) and could swap a grav gun in. They don’t need to include the 30k specific stuff like volkite, although they could.
When this comes out I'm buying calth and it. I'll have a nice little army. I'm hoping for 30 marines so I'll have a nice force of 3 tac squads. I don't want 10 man ones

what are pillarstodes?
Anyway, I guess I can finally stop half-cheeking my Sigmarine Custodes conversion project, my Scibor Custodes re-arming project, my Chaos Warrior Custodes conversion project, and my Menoth Exemplar Bastions Custodes project. At this pace, GW will release a plastic Emperor mini before I finish blinging out my Scibor Emperor mini...
Oh, and my Dreamforge Panzerjaegers can remain happily tabardless.
Anyone else expecting a huge hobby impact from this release?

Chaos can also use these kits mo that anyone cares. As they can with b@c stuff not just imperial marines. Hopefully there will be a plastic autocannon as that would be ideal
Shoot me down in flames if need be (and I will happily be wrong) but surely if SoS were included in the box then they would have been mentioned on the front cover of the WD too?

Possibly, but they may not to avoid making the cover too crowded- 5 custodes and the space wolf are a big centerpiece unit. And we don't see the Ahriman-alike guy on the cover either, even though he is the chaos leader. It's meant to be a dramatic scene, not show off everything in the box.
Could go either way still, but I'm still leaning on yes to SoS in the box.

It's Prospero, there is no way under that Free gift that the Thousand Son sorcerer isn't going to be staring down the Space Wolf who is making a direct run at him.

TTS = Text To Speech
Prety Sure he's talking about the half naked Custodes from "If the Emperor Had Text to Speech".
People call them the " pillarstodes" is a super inside joke from that series.
The the only art work for "40k era Custodies" is this from rouge trader, and old fluff that says after the heresy the Custodes stopped wearing armour in mourning for the fallen emperor, just wearing the helmet and the field generator. The series assumes this is still cannon for it's jokes, because it has never been officially retcon'd.
So for "If the Emperor had Text To Speach" for more updated art, they took art of the Pillar Men from "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure" and put custodian heads on them. And every time they show up in the videos they play the Pillarmen's sick theme music.
The joke is probly dead on delivery after trying to explain it, but like I said. It's kinda a super inside joke that you will only get if you watch/read both JoJo's Bizzar Adventure Part 2 and Emperor Text to Speech.

We already know the thousand sons don't have plot armor, since they didn't have enough guys nor were they good enough :p. After all, it's not called 'prospero lives!"
