We'll find out soon enough eh.

There's a picture on the iPad preview that literally shows "standard guardsmen"(ie Brood Brothers, named as such) and a Chimera in cult colours. Would GW really be putting those colour-guide "art" images in the dex for units that aren't actually part of the army?

Thant truck looks just about perfect to convert up as a stand-in for a Centaur for my Renegade Guard, too.

I'd slow your roll there chief, looking at the images and the Centaur I have here the Goliath looks to be at least twice the size - if you game with anyone who's uptight about WYSIWYG or LoS it might cause you problems.

If the limo comes back I will buy this army for sure.

Thanks to the guy that's been selling cult limos for a number of years now on eBay you can be assured the limo Is NOT coming back.

Spot on.

THIS is what GW should have focused on years ago. Not squander their HIPS capabilities on increasingly silly looking giant monsters that hardly fit on the tables anymore.

Awesome looking and detailed infantry kits. When done right, no one comes close to GW. These are gritty but still exotic. Grimdark done right. These are kit's people want to buy more than one box of. Had they focused on making these kinds of kits, I might still have cared about 40K

Bingo. It appears that GW has managed to bring back a classic army without overdoing it with 7th edition silliness. Chaos cultists/LATD and sisters of battle need new codexes with a similar design philosophy. Enough of the robo-space dragons and giant transformers in every army. Go back to your grimdark roots...

Going through the BOLs teaser video on their facebook page and freeze framing where they flip through the codex. One line of text stood out to me:

You cannot include more than one patriarch, one magus, and one primus in the same cult insurrection detachment.

Getting all those extra psykers will take some trickery it seems.

The detachment bonuses include re-rolling your warlord trait, getting stealth on the first turn (or shrouded if you already have stealth), and whenever a unit from the detachment comes onto the table from ongoing reserves, it can add up to D6 models back into it that it lost previously in the battle.

The metamorphs are 5 models for 45 points base and can add up to 5 more. Not very expensive and most biomorph upgrades are 1-2 ppm. A lot of it is hard to pick out because of the low res and the time-lapse of the video.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Imperial Armour isn't mainstream GW. I'd rather have an official mainstream 40k codex and the accompanying new models/kits

You can see a purestrain claw hanging out of the window hatch in the unpainted pic, wouldn't make sense for them to do that if only hybrids can ride in it.

Maybe it's my inner cynic, or the fact that he said the Chimera isn't in despite us already having proof that it is that's making me not believe him

Could possibly be just to make the truck look cooler, or could be a hybrid's claw.
(still, would be neat if stealers could ride inside, very fun to think of them popping out when an Arbites pulled it over for speeding)

Exactly this. We'll know in a week, maybe less. Never understand why people get so worked up over stuff like this.

You'd think people could take one day to appreciate that we actually have Genestealer Cults again, before needing to dissect the rumored rules and figure out how to tool their net lists or whatever. I'm just going to enjoy the models and plan my Necromunda/Inq28/Kill Team conversions.

Someone shared a tidbit of info having 'had a look' and everyone leaps on them because they don't have the whole codex memorised. What a welcome to a new user.
On topic, I am impressed with everything in this release. Giving the army a strong miner aesthetic really sets them apart. The art in the codex is good for once. The rules look like they will prevent the cult from bring just another horde army and the minis are stunning.
Well done Gw.

Sadly tomorrow is our monthly RTT so I won't be able to use the GSC yet. Then Monday begins our weekly league which is a heralds of ruin kill team. I'll have to convince someone to play a full sized game with me outside of the league restrictions because I'm dying to use these guys

That truck is absolutely lovely. I probably won't get a GS cult army (although the cultists are really cool, I'm tempted.) But I need that truck. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it, but I will get one.

If you have Overkill, the dataslates have the neophyte and acolyte squads for 195 pts combined. 28 mcgribbles will be a lot for any kill team to handle.

I'm planning on giving them a shot this week when my group gets together.

We are using the heralds of ruin rosters so I can use the army for the league and start painting it but I'm really dying to test them out full strength.
