Here in the UK is the same. All Made to Order models are available. Long live the Hammer of the Imperium. Long live the Imperial Guard!

Seems like a deal I can live with, especially considering I'm missing some heavy weapons for my Valhallans and my WIP mordians.
Prices seem ok, but the exchange rates for Norwegians Kroner is rubbish. 13.06 to the pound!?

Shame that everything on offer is stuff that I don't need.
1 45-man platoon of Mordians and one of Tallarns (plus about a dozen heavy weapon squads) is enough, and they're not offering metal Cadians which I would consider as I adore those minis (could bump them to 2 55-man platoons with an extra two squads!). And I have 60 Kasrkins.
C'mon GW! Necromunda minis! Enforcers and Cawdor's and multi-part Orlocks/Goliaths/Ratskins/Scavvies! I don't own any Spyrers, so how's a bout some'a them!!!

No, it's phase one of Kirbys maniacal scheme, first they sell us all those wonderful metal minis. Phase two, once the miniatures have been lovingly placed in our boxes of unfinished stuff they exude a substance that rots all our most beloved miniatures. Phase three Kirby rips of the mask, brags it was him all along, and nobody puts baby in the corner. Phase 4 profit.

Yeah, you really cannot compare an old one-piece human-sized metal model to the huge, two-sprue, incredibly complex 60mm base Dominus. If any character is worth its price, it's him.

I'd check the on-line store, but it is off-line all morning now, as I'm beginning to doubt myself. Mine did come with a 50mm base, though I did get it through a Start Collecting! boxed set.

That'll be where the discount came from, using a single box and 10mm smaller base for the Dominus.

The Webstore says the Domnius is meant to come with a 50mm base even if purchased by itself.

It appears that a bunch on the made to order stuff of the GW UK webstore has gone sold out - Mordian in particular. I wish they could have left them up for longer than 48 hours - I just didn't have time over the weekend to actually purchase anything.

I'm confused as to how something that is made-to-order sells out...

they said the stuff would be available for 48 hours (or longer if demand was there),
so even though it's made to order once 48 hours pass (and not enough demand existed to keep them available) its going to go to sold out as that will be the default for 'you can't buy this any more'
depending on how made to order goes it's not impossible we'll see them roll around again in a year or twos time depending on how much different stuff is suitable for re-release in this way

yeah, Looks like GW deleted me as a mail order customer, the offering wasn't special enough and web store postage has scared me away from rejoining. Tried ordering a steel legion commissioner but I couldn't seem to remember my password! But then the email me my password option didn't work either, I think I've been deleted... I was setting up a new account, then saw that it's £3.50 postage for a single miniature. Almost £12 once I added on postage, With up to 28 days for delivery. :(:(:( Then looked on eBay and there are loads NIB for less on ebay including fast delivery postage. The range they've chosen to test the water is bizarre; Being part of the current Imperial guard metal range.. If popular these should just be re-added to the range. Not sure why they were removed. Panic...

Yeah the webstore update lost all of the customer account information.
You should be able to get free delivery to a store, if you're near one.
I doubt it'll be in any special made-to-order packaging, probably just a blister with white sticker.

It's 28 day delivery because it is made-to-order. As in they don't have stock they will be just putting in packages, they actually have to make it. That's what made-to-order is. If you can't suffer through the wait for limited miniatures, this system is probably not for you.

If they are aiming this made to order system recapturing lost ground from eBay?
They need to be more competitive with postage especially with small numbers of figures.

Did you get him when the Cult Mechanicus range first launched?
Because a number of the first production run were mispacked. The Dominus I got via my local GW had the wrong base and the manager had been sent a bunch of 50mm bases and instructed to have customers open their Dominus in the store to check the bases were right.

Just noticed there is a new tab on the store called new and exclusive. Also did they secretly add some stuff back onto the store. Have the Goff rockers always been there? Finally who on earth is buying macharius? That model is awful.

No, they don't.
GW isn't looking to make a substantial amount of money here. This is an impractical affair for them. So why do it?
It's good PR, that's why. GW is just looking to foster some goodwill in the community with the made to order system. If it's successful, they could potentially do 'test runs' on lots of models that are OOP - if, when a model that never sold well is placed on the made to order catalog and sells well, we win, GW wins, and everyone is happy.
Whether you understand that or not is a different matter.
