I've been out of the loop for a while. I looked on GW website but everything says "sold out" / "no longer available".

So, what's this made to order thing? How does it work? Seems like a limited time only type deal and everythings gone. Not exactly the most accurately titled service, in that case...

They put up a list of old minis, set to be on "sale" for 48 hours, or longer if the interest is particularly high. After all the orders are in, they cast up enough to cover all of the orders, and ship them out.

That's pretty much it, in a nutshell.

Oh, and apparently, they're cast out of whatever their original material was, so my coming minis should be metal.

How did Diaz Daemonette's win if GW were asking for Chaos Marines/Loyalist Marines to bring back? Last I checked Daemonettes were neither.

Yeah the image said Chaos Space Marines but the actual text of the post just said Chaos is general.

Plus one could argue that when the Diaznettes were still for sale their rules were in the then current CSM codex, making them 'Chaos Space Marine miniatures', I suppose.

I'm not complaining though

Diaz Dæmonettes up next? Noice! That wailing you can hear is the sound of ebay resellers howling and gnashing the teeth.

As opposed to considering it an opportunity to restock?

Now, I can understand eBay recasters having issues with it.

Ironically, restocking means that GW will keep them in production longer!

Only thing I can add on that is, that it can take what, up to 28 days? So don't expect them anytime soon. Depends on the demand it can be sooner or even later. Now I am guessing here. We don't know how or when they are being produced. I guess when ever there is a "free time slot" and then the Made to Order go in production.

There is another source on FB (GW shop) with a more specific list

Emperor's Children Lord
CSM Sorcerer with force staff and plasma pistol
CSM Khorne Lord
Daemonettes on Steeds of Slaanesh (box of 5)
Daemonettes (box of 10)

They are the Diaz sculpts.

The CSM Khorne Lord and Sorcerer (on the right) should be these

I can't justify a full army, but I'll probably buy enough for a nice sized squad.

I'm still confused on how it works. How can they know when all the orders are in if they're only available for limited windows of time (48 hours)? When I heard they were doing a made to order service on oop models, I expected to find exactly that; you go on their webstore, find the oop model(s) you want, order them, then they make them. No one else?

I still have all these models in my big black box and love them.

The Noise Marines with the guitars will be really useful. I bought 4 of them way, way back, in blister packs, and have always wished I had access to more. I have seen them sell on Ebay for $20+.

they put a list of what is available on the website along with all the other pre-orders,

you're guaranteed to be able pre-order these old minis for 48 hours after which the orders are closed, although if anything is getting a lot of orders they'll extend the window until the numbers start to drop off (I think the Kasrikin squad was available for a few days more from the first batch but only for a few extra days)

they then go off an manufacture the minis and post them off (allow 28 days for manufacture, plus delivery)

if you miss the order window you've missed out this time (maybe they'll come round again in the future, maybe not as there's so much stuff they could offer/be asked for instead)

It's looking like 20 days to delivery - GW took orders on the 15th, spent 2 weeks making stuff, and then started shipping a week after that.

The key thing is that GW is going to be selling a LOT of Diazettes. I hope they started casting them already.

I was at my local store today picking up my Steel Legion Commissar and the manger was telling me about the next batch of made to order stuff. He mentioned that they will be available to order for a week instead of just 48 hours.

Not disputing that, Reavsie, but have been seeing people confirm receipt of orders that shared some of the figures I ordered in it, making me think they've been producing one sculpt, then moving on to the next one from the list of models on offer. As a result, I was more curious as to which one of the M2O figures was the last to get to being cast, that's all.
