So.. I've got a couple of Leman Russ hulls that are... Under new Management. There's some colours on them, but they sure as hell aren't mine. Converted the hull mounts to Multilasers as can be on the LR Incinerator. Their original weapons loadout was as LRBTs. The hull's the only part with any paint on it, and like I said, gonna get reduone.

So if y'all accept some Phoenix builds, as another forum once called them, I'll just leave this here...

Alas, I'm almost out of burstcannons, and need some more. But I did manage to acquire another Riptide burstcannon which I'll put on something in the future.

I've been working on mine a lot this week. I'm going away at the weekend, so I have less time than usual to get it done. I should get it finished though. For a while on saturday I was close to abandoning it, because to be honest it's quite hard to make a dreadnought look interesting! I have no modelling skills, so I just put it together as per the instructions, and it's quite a static lifeless figure, with silly short legs. By saturday, I had a neat GW-style paintjob on the armour and the machinary, but I really didn't like it. So ever since then I've been trying to add interest to it by making it grubby as hell, splashing untidy washes over my tidy edge highlights! I'm not sure if the result as it is at the moment looks like weathering or incompetent painting.

I have to do a decent job though, because I'm entering it into not just this thread, but a painting competition at my local GW, a competition which hosts a fearsome rivalry between myself and a good mate of mine who is an excellent painter and also a much much better modeller than me. He always beats me. He keeps bringing bigger (and better) models than whatever I'm entering, which I consider to be a dirty underhand trick. I've seen what he's planning to enter this month and, before he's even put a drop of paint on it, I'm resigned to second place at best.

That's the key, Felt.. Dreadnoughts have all these open flat surfaces, especially Loyalist ones. You could freehand if you wanted to, to give it some extra.. or you could take your hand at doing some battle damage to go even further than your weathering the hell out of it.

What's that you say? You want mooore WIP? And you need some more ork in your daily life? Well!

This is a fantastic sculpt full of character, and I'm super excited to add him to my collection once he's done.
I decided to try something different with this one. I primed him white, and I saw somewhere that if you do a black wash before adding anything else, that you get dark color in all the recesses and it brings out the detail. That part has come out well, and I'm tempted to just leave him as is with the addition of a few accents (eyes, teef, etc) since he looks like he just emerged from a coal mine and all the grey seems fitting for an ork big mek. Mostly, I just have serious artist's block about how to paint him. Is he a proppa Skull? A Sun? Wunna dem worfless Freeboota gitz??? I dunno. The black wash does help tremendously though, because it makes it less daunting to have him mostly grey (he's got a lotta metal bits anyway) instead of all fresh white primer staring back at me. Whaddya think?

I'll do my bit. Here is my WIP, more like my work nearly finished. To stick with the theme of Super Dungeon Explore game I've tried to keep them cartoony, a lot different to how I usually try to paint.
Painting the models was fun but could also be infuriating too, as the mould lines were often quite severe and required re-carving certain areas. I'll post final pics later in the month

also Verviedi, that's brilliant, I love it... =)

I got mine all finished

I confess to being a complete newb to 30k rules so I don't know if they all fit in a squad but probably not! They're related because... uh... the same guy is responsible for keeping them all clean and free of rust.

These conclude a Sons of Horus army I've been working on for a while, quite a novel project

WIP:

The tracks are such a big feature of these old Raiders - I need to make sure they look good (whilst working around the piss-poor gluing I did 25 years ago!). Looking at adding some weathering to them. Plenty more to do on the rest of it too, but at least I feel I've got a chance of finishing it now

Lost my motivation to paint (anything really) a week or two ago. But, managed to finish this. Not a big fan of the kit (prefer the old Fire Prism). It's been poorly magnetized to fit as a Falcon when needed, and has been peg-legged like my other Falcon based tanks.

They're listed at N scale, so yup quite small. Not sure what mm that equates to as I always forget =/ anyway hope that helps lol

Some pretty awesome stuff so far! My Centurions are nearly done, just the last few details to go.

@Elbows: For being unmotivated, you sure did a good job on that Eldar tank! I love that color scheme, makes me think of an alien version of a "dazzle" paint scheme like they used to do on ships during WW1.

Lots of cool vehicle entries this month:
Nice work Verviedi a good amount of guns and the rust effect adds well to the model.
PossumCraft again very good weathering
Kustomer D those flames look good, I like how it draws your eye to the middle of the model.

Keep up the painting, month seems to have flown by only 10 days left.
