Thank you! the monkey is a neat little figure, he comes from the empire handgunners set, if i remember right. he would definitely work great for freebooterz! I have at last rectified the lack of turtles in this thread: The turtle/tortoise is quite big. i am thinking of somehow making it into a counts as dreadnought, if i can find the right bits.
haha...oh yeah, that could be great as a double-lascannon dread or something

It's been a few months, but behold! my newest army!
Well, ok. they're cheap toy turtles i bought. but! they are also pets. I am still trying to work out the how, as they're a bit big, but they might work well as friends for primaris marines.

here is... a mess of an idea. the painting is horrible on the marine, he is going to be cleaned, but i think the owl looks good! what primaris captain needs a sword when he can have an owl.

This is really a most excellent thread
On edit: OK, I kind of thought the pets thing would start at around Page 3 or 4 ... I didn't realise you've been doing pets virtually the whole thread!
I think your war otters are my favourite ... but ... I think they need bandoliers. Not guns ... just a bandolier each. Just one strap across the chest and over one shoulder. Should be dead easy ... some aluminium foil or maybe a Pringles foil (or even a lead-based wine bottle seal?) with the bandolier pouches greenstuffed? Go on

I really love the war otters too! and that bandolier idea sounds great, i'll give it a try.
So, speaking of that, how would bandoliers look on a turtle? Or perhaps a backpack of some kind? Those turtles i got are... big. Bigger than i thought. Note size here:
Pack turtles as aobjective markers is one thing i am thinking right now.

Nice! You need to make a house rule where if the character is killed in melee, his loyal otter pops the pins on his grenades and leaps upon his master's killer. Resolve as a frag grenade attack...

I'd like to try that, and i know i've got some of those somewhere. does the cadian guardsmen kit come with some of those?
alabamaheretic wrote:One need a combat knife
The biggest problem is how tiny these otters are compared to most of the knives i have! They are seriously little.

Ok, i am still working on the turtles and otters, so this is a sad, non pet update. But here are some plague marines. I think the color scheme is working out pretty well!

Sadly i don't have the skill for sculpting my own pets yet. maybe some day... most of these come from various sources, I am always on the lookout for more! And speaking of which, thank you! Both for the kind words and the link, i don't even know where to start! meerkats are a good idea, though...
In the meanwhile, i prefer putting something of content up when I post, so I found a lazy little beastman conversion i did a long, long time ago and painted it up a little bit
He looks like he's singing, i think.
