Hi, hi hello. not much on cultists or space marine pets right now, but i did end up with an interesting new project: Silver Tower.

My sisters and i (we all played a lot of hero quest when we were kids) pooled resources and got it and it's been pretty fun so far! but i'm in charge of the painting because i am the one who has time.

So here's a pink horror, who i now know needs one more wash after seeing his picture

Ok! it's been a bit, my life is crazy right now but here is an update. is it a space marine with an otter? is it a work in progress? is it blurry as heck? yes, always.



How will the Space/Void/ Otters fare in the new edition? Will they get some giant space brothers? (No, those things are heck of pricey it looks like and i like small things) Will i ever completely finish anything? These are all questions.

Basically, I'm just trying to get back into the habit of painting and working on these guys again. Expect more soon, I've got a weasel type thing i want to make as someone's pet.

I hope he turned off the gauntlet first

this was testing to see if i could get the hand and wolf posed properly near each other. the leash is a placeholder until i find something better. something like a chain that i can attack a bit to the other end of his hand so it really looks like he's gripping it.

Nice! good to see the void otters reinforced by the prospero marines. That dog with the leash is a pretty nice conversion

Sometimes just shaving some spare sprue you can make straps fairly easily and cheaply.

Thanks! yeah, the prospero marines are definitely some of my favorites, and i'm glad i finally got my hands on some. Chapterwise, i've been thinking for a while that the Otters aren't too well supplied and that they have a mess of different equipment. Their story actually works pretty well with the new update to the setting i think so i should probably write it down before i forget it.

The shaving off of sprue does require a steady hand and go slowly or you will cut your own fingers. But if you check out the two walking guardsmen with slung Lasguns in my Necromundian Guard PLOG their straps were made that way, you camouflage the ends at shoulders or at the wrist or neck, etc.

It looks like you are going to dip into the Genestealer Cults.

I do have a small gsc force, i was mainly excited to find these guys because they're the missing pieces from my old macragge set and i thought i had lost them forever.

now, i have a confession. i said before that i wouldn't be getting the new box set but circumstances changed and... i caved.

but you know what? There's nothing in the rules that says Primary marines can't have pets too



And i otter know.

Though they have their differences, they all share one thing in common



(and i mean, something apart from all needing a lot of touching up)

Desperately trying to think of an Otter related pun, but i'very got nothing!

The problem with otter puns is that there's basically one of them, i think. i mean, i otter know that by now *is pulled offstage by vaudeville hook*

Thank you! i'm pretty happy with him, i know that it's a chaos head but i needed someone who looked expressive. And the fact is, most non helmeted space marines have only one expression, and it's not a good one.

I don't have anything new to add right now, sadly, but i do have a question: Small plastic dogs. What would be a good source for them?

Thank you! the monkey is a neat little figure, he comes from the empire handgunners set, if i remember right. he would definitely work great for freebooterz!

The turtle/tortoise is quite big. i am thinking of somehow making it into a counts as dreadnought, if i can find the right bits.
