The battleforces are up for pre-order on the NZ store (No need to freak out when you see the prices, fellow Americans). The description do say the formations/warscroll battalions are included. Now the only question is whether or not the warscroll battalions will be pointed.

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)

I doubt there will be points for the AoS stuff.

None of the Get Started! battalions have points. They're mostly there to give fancy rules for when two people buy boxes and play them against one another.

The Gore Gruntas are more of a bummer than the giant that I've always wanted. I promised myself not to get anymore minis this year/before the end of med school in spring. Maaaybe if some are still left in 2017.

AdMech and maybe Sylvaneth foe my bro, if they can be gotten cheaper on ebay. Lucky git.

I got an order in for the Sylvaneth one. Between the price I got for that and the super discounted SC Sylvaneth I've got a 1760pt army for $175.....And one that is moderately competitive

The DW one covers the stuff I wanted to get, other than Blackstars.

Should be fun to make those bikers with all the extra bits, plus I'll have eve enough spare parts to make a full DW Assault Squads with those cool Storm Shields.

I might have missed it, but will these be available from discount sites? or Direct from GW only?

Guess it depends on the store. I'm certainly not getting mine direct.

Well, none of the usual discounters seem to have these. Shame.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Are any third party retailers carrying these, nowhere seems to have them other than GW. There not listed as a direct only thing?

It looks like Independent stores are only getting a maximum of three of each Battleforce, so they've either not listed them or have already sold out.

Might just be a UK thing on the limited retailer stock. At least here some stores are taking normal preorders.

Maybe,
All the UK retailers I use were sold out pretty quickly, It doesnt look like they are getting many at all, thankfully i managed to snag a few of the 40k ones before they all sold out.

I even had to order the Chaotica Apocrypha from GW themselves !

Yes, the Gore-gruntas are not as good as Juggernauts or Dracoths, either on tabletop or as convertion material; their main problem is that they're quite overpriced.

And if the Battleforces are not permanent additions like some people say, then don't count on get them at good price on eBay. I tried to get the SE expansion for AoS, but I found three: 2 of them sold at bids higher than 400 Euros, the other one was painted and double the cost back then.

Aww man, really, GW? Still hating money. Even ordering from UK GW would be cheaper with the exchange rate than buying here.

If they won't be carried by stores in Germany with discount I'm not buying them for myself and at max one as a present. Needless foot shooti g after getting good sales on SCfrom independants

Edit: The SE expansion seems to be on The Outpost for a hundred quid, but I have never heard of them before this thread, so I don't know how import friendly they are. And I didn't click thr listing, so no idea if it's actually in stock or a dead entry.

It's out of stock on The Outpost. As is the new Christmas Stormcast bundle box.

Is the Stormcast box worth it for someone just starting AoS?

No idea what is good or not.

The liberators aren't bad. The paladins aren't bad. There are better heroes than the celestant prime and flying hero though. The 2 dracoriders can be good

The starter set is the best value for someone just starting. The Stormcast box is the best way for the money to fill out your army.

You can refer to my post on the last page with the exact savings of each box, but the Stormcast kit has 52% off, by far the best saving deal from the eight.

Points-wise, the box alone can have up to 1180 points, from there just buy a SC! and get the SE half from the Starter Set and you have a pretty competitive army.

All the units are viable, particularly the Paladins and Dracothian Guard: if you have a row of good rolls, the Paladins as Protectors can solo the Glottking at full wounds, while the Dracothian Guard as Fulminators can solo Archaon. And that's not even open play.

Has anyone calculated how many points each of the battleforces gives you? It feels so long ago that I could have just looked at a group of minis and estimated their costs because I had read every codex and army book front to back multiple times. (4th and 6th edition maybe?)

I have the points for the AoS BFs:

Sylvaneth: up to 1240, assuming that you deploy Durthu (400), a Treelord costs 260 and an Ancient Treelord costs 300.
Stormcast Eternals: up to 1180, assuming the most expensive units: Knight-Venator (120) instead Knight-Azyros (100), Paladins Retributors (200) instead Protectors/Decimators (200) and Dracothian Guard Concussors (280) instead Desolators/Fulminators/Tempestors (240).
Ironjawz: 980, 800 from the Ironjawz, 180 from the Gargant.
Khorne: up to 860, assuming that you deployed Wrathmongers (180) instead Skullreapers (140).

Made in us
Been Around the Block

Here is the breakdown for each Battleforce, if anyone needs it:

Ironjaws
79+53.75+40+33+50+50=$305.75
Sylvaneth
60+61+37+37++58+58=$311
Bloodpeople
62+58+57+30+30+50=$287
Stormcast
80+50+50+58+40+65=$343

There are some retailers on eBay already selling them for $152 with free shipping and around $134 plus shipping.

Well, 75% is pretty common. That comes to $127.50.
