She's already pretty substantial compared to most of the other SoB models. Not to mention she's an IC, has a 2+/4++ save, and comes back to life in the highly unlikely event that she dies.
This obsession with giving her EW is utterly bizarre.

Being substantial compared to SoB models is no great feat in any possible sense, and it's cool that people can still find opponents whose armies care about 2+4++ but in modern 40k she's a solid 2 wound model(one for each life) who is handicapped by absolutely needing an honorguard(which in SoB are the underwhelming seraphim) to be able to put her impressive I7 S5 A5 into an ebemy squad.
Oh, also a 2+ armor S6+ character will stonewall her completely.

Thats true, but I hope for the EW, T4, S4 and more point cost to balance everything.

.... what are you trying to use her for? She's not a model for duelling with, she's for blowing up basic troopers, and she does that very well indeed. The Seraphim are pretty good at it too, although a dual-Melta Assault Squad might be a better throw for not much more points.
If you want a model for duelling other tough CC models ally in a Thunderwolf Lord or something and leave Celestine on the shelf.

Don't charge her at one then.
Instead of giving her EW just give the Canoness her Jump Pack back. Celestine doesn't need EW and has never needed it. Automatically Appended Next Post: oldzoggy wrote:Is there a possibility that Celestine gets renamed ?

How would they justify "Nagash with wings"? This isn't the almighty Lord of Undeath - it's just some woman who was so pious and good at fighting that she came back to life to keep doing those things. Unless the Emperor's beneficent resurrection comes with complimentary gigantism I don't know how she could possibly be any bigger than she is. Maybe she'll get loads more angels and cloaks and purity seals or something.

Celestine is still a great unit and tears through normal SM squads pretty well but she also dies incredibly easy to literally anything and just 'oh don't charge them then' is great advice if there was never ever a situation where a 95pt librarian with force up on his power axe in terminator armor wasn't sitting in a squad of tactical marines on an objective going 'statistics punk!' Also, seraphim look okay if you play mono sisters but are actually just worse assault marines and no one takes those either.
And don't get me started on the Canoness. THE most overcosted character in the game. Even with a jump pack, fight her against a 35pt deathwatch biker with a power maul and see how that goes. Oh, she can win with 50 points of extra wargear, how cute.
As for allying in a wolf lord, why? Why can't celestine be a big beatstick character? Why can't she get a points bump along side EW and AP2 and become something your opponent MUST deal with? Why are so many people determines to see SoB suck?

Who already takes design cues from Nagash (the swirly bits used to levitate the figure.)
Just to be clear for those lacking a surfeit of imagination, I'm not suggesting they will literally glue wings onto the Nagash model and call it Celestine, but that there is already a clear, established form of "floaty" characters that she will likely follow.

Yeah, a new Celestine will be a ornate Sister of Battle riding atop a bunch of swirly bull gak, just like that Sigmarine model.
It's ok. The swirly bull gak will only double the price of the model.

Celestine will be in there, and most people would see this as odds of a new sculpt finally coming soon.

I think mostly better wings.
I have seen some great conversions with AoS wings that look great.

To be fair she's already a floaty model as she's levitated by that parchment that extends from her feet so it's not like being a floaty model would break from the normal for her.

ERJAK wrote:Celestine is still a great unit and tears through normal SM squads pretty well but she also dies incredibly easy to literally anything
It's not just normal SM squads she tears through. She's quite good at killing small clumps of Genestealers, thanks to the fact she has a 2+/4++, a Heavy Flamer, and hits first at S5 WS7. Her and five Seraphim killed three of my five Purestrains with shooting last time I played against her. I laughed when he charged me - then Celestine killed the last two Stealers and put a wound on the Patriarch with nothing in reply thanks to the 4++ save.
But hey. She can't force a Terminator to roll his 3++ so she sucks ass.
and just 'oh don't charge them then' is great advice if there was never ever a situation where a 95pt librarian with force up on his power axe in terminator armor wasn't sitting in a squad of tactical marines on an objective going 'statistics punk!'
That's every game, is it? TDA Librarians in Tactical Squads? Even if it is, fire Meltaguns at them and find something else to do with Celestine. She's Jump Infantry, has Deep Strike, has S5 CC attacks, a Heavy Flamer - find something else to do with her and the Seraphim.
Also, seraphim look okay if you play mono sisters but are actually just worse assault marines and no one takes those either.
They're a lot shootier than Assault Marines in return for being worse in CC. Their Overwatch is pretty brutal against anything that's not a dedicated CC unit. Even against some that are, if you take Hand Flamers.
And don't get me started on the Canoness. THE most overcosted character in the game.
Not quite. She could stand to be cheaper though.
Even with a jump pack, fight her against a 35pt deathwatch biker with a power maul and see how that goes. Oh, she can win with 50 points of extra wargear, how cute.
Oh yeah, she sucked even when she had the Jump Pack, but she gets access to EW and that's what you want. T3 EW. I don't know why, but you seem to think that's awesome and necessary so there it is.
As for allying in a wolf lord, why? Why can't celestine be a big beatstick character? Why can't she get a points bump along side EW and AP2 and become something your opponent MUST deal with? Why are so many people determines to see SoB suck?
You think SoB having no beatstick CC character makes them suck? Lots of Sisters players seem to think this. I don't know why. I've never understood it, since the days people were running gakky JP Canonesses with Eviscerators and trying to pretend that was "good" or even necessary in an army bristling with Meltaguns.
I don't think that at all. I couldn't care less if they suck in CC provided they have the tools to make up for that weakness. They used to, back when vehicles could be relied upon. Now, not so much. That's what I want to see fixed, or at least papered over. I'd rather they make a decent fist of that than waste time designing a boring-ass push-and-play beatstick character.

My initial reaction to this was "Empra no ples no", because I'm imagining some kind of fleur-spattered baby-carrying powerloader and ain't nobody got time for that - but I reckon it could well work with Penitengines. Make them MCs and they instantly become far more worthwhile - and if DKs are Monsters then there's no reason Pentiengines can't be too.

FYI a small tidbit... the Imperial Agents codex has the full new list for Sisters of Battle... think of it as a new codex for them... and shortly the immolator and other kits will be available to order (note: not made to order) for the first time in a while. I have seen the new plastic sisters and they are simply stunning. I assume they will see light of day along with the other plastics yet to be released like the plastic keeper of secrets.

You can keep being angry/being a typical Sisters player all you like, but it's never going to make Codex: Imperial Agents into Codex: Sisters of Battle.
I mean, it has all the Inquisition stuff in it from Codex: Inquisition, but it's not Codex: Inquisition. It has everything from Codex: Legion of the Damned... but it's not Codex: Legion of the Damned.
