If I do this as an Adepticon event next year I'll probably have to keep it pretty restricted. For us, I'm open to anything as long as it's not taking away from the intended Knights fighting.

ETA, combo that with a VSG, and you should be GTG. Stack the VSGs with another Admech WK, and WINNING!

Wardens.. we are 16 days out from ' Knight Fight'.
I suggest you re-read the rules.
Remember that you have a total of 500 pt for which to use for your list.
If you have an IK bring it, With 4 from Gits, 4 from WM and my 5, Rad and Master Azalle are bringing their own, we should have enough with 7 vs. 6. ( We'll be looking to invite 1 other cool person if possible; Super Cool Like Moonpie, so doesn't have to be as Emperor cool as Gits. If not I'll run the game, keep score ect )
If you have pts to spare and your not sure if your choice of additional unit is acceptable, PM me.
I'd like to run this a few times as learning for a possible activity next year.

If someone did have a knight with more than 6 HP, would that be something you would be interested in trying at full strength?

Both mine and Ritides have Knights with greater than 6 ( Atropos has 7, though we start with 6 and pay the same for it.) As long as it's under 500 pts ( and counts as a Knight) its good. It'll only start with 6 HP though. I'm trying not to go too deep into pay to win.

Isn't that the trade off for not having the extra dudes? Does it risk swinging the other way, where the "best" choice is a base knight and some other clever junk? Just don't want to limit knight diversity. It'll be interesting to see how they balance the Titan fight.

True.. We could go just all knight, which will probably be the case if I do this as an event. However the extras eventually go away never to return where as the Knights enter the following turn. In the first couple of rounds they will play some part but in the later turns it will shift back.

Also most of the knights use blast templates so there is potential for every shot to cause damage to be spread around. And most knight weapons are powerful enough to make smaller stuff disappear. We shall see.

I am mostly just playing devils advocate. And I am certainly not suggesting this for the "main" knight fight, but any follow ups. Good to change things up a bit, see what works.

If the intent is Knights, then only allow a fraction of the unused points to be spent on non-Knight stuff.

For example, if it's an 20% tax, then a 400-pt Knight is only allowed to spend 80 of the 100 unused points on non-Knight stuff.

This encourages bigger, more awesome Knights that are faster to play over piles of piddly, less awesome rabble. One could further limit the non-Knight Allies to 1-2 Troops, 0-1 Elite, and 0-1 Fortification to keep the unit count down and ensure that nothing overshadows the Knights.

It's currently only limit is 1 ( singular) additional unit. Most likely if I run this outside of the " Wardens" then It'll only be knights.

I'm pretty sure there's no way on earth I'm going to get my current batch of EC done in time for Adepticon. I'll try and finish one or two things to the point where I'm not embarrassed to put them on the table.

Get as far as you can. Your not playing in anything your gonna be judged on so your good. Having a good time with buds and kicking their butt is the goal!

I'm not sure FW has put the rules for those knights in any book (I could be wrong). Perhaps one of the HH books?

I believe the new book, Inferno, has it.

Edit: Porphy is in 7 (Inferno), Atropos is in 6 (Retribution). All knights out now have printed rules.

Sad news ... Yellowbeard won't be able to attend. So were back down to 6 Vs. 6 in the 'Knight Fight'. We can accommodate 2 more if the situation arises. Other wise were good to go.

Here's my knights, finally all fully based and ready to go. They're packed and in the "done" pile. Now that I have my new case they, along with the VSG fit comfortably in one of my old Battlefoam bags... pluck-foam strewn about to keep everything safe from harm.




Just for giggles, I'll make up lists using all four in a "Household Detachment" at 1500, 1850 and 2k points in case anyone wants to give them a go. I know all-knight lists aren't very competitive, (just too few figures, regardless of how good they are)... but I'd be delighted to trot them out and let someone grav, glance or rend them to death... if for no other reason then to watch the big explosions when they die.

Hey gang, I have a question for you.

I'm torn as to weather I should bring a fourth list or not. It's not a problem if I do, just a bit of extra list building and packing... but it's that much more stuff to lug around. I'll have my AdMech and my knights... both of which can be used to make 40k lists up to Apocalyptic size when combined... and I'll have a small contingent of EC.

I could bring either my Mantis Warriors (which haven't changed significantly in a long time) or my Halloween chaos army, which I don't think most of you have seen in person yet. Or just keep it simple and stick with the AdMech and EC.

Does anyone have a burning desire to play either of the above two armies?
