While the breakdown is enticing, where's the justification for the red armor? Why wouldn't he still be in Iyanden colors regardless?

Along with the name-change, Eldar and Orks are being retconned into a single race. Iyanden's colour is now red, and instead of jetbikes they ride into battle on Meganobs.

Oh puh-leeze. Now you're bringing it to ridiculous extents. You should be ashamed of this behavior that is just mocking the people at games workshop.

Obviously it will be the orks, in pairs, the ones to be riding the eldar, which will be grafted many weapons into their bodies.

I seriously doubt they're going to go back, read their own fluff and give players old characters. We're going to get 1 current character and 2 totally new random characters that no one has converted yet.

It's amazing how much Eldar fluff this guy gets wrong whilst explaining who it isn't, then comes to the exact same conclusion I do that the guy in red is Yriel for the same reasons I do.

I don't think there needs to be any explenation for why Yriel isn't in Iyanden colours, I mean if he left with Sylandri Veilwalker then he's not really going to be part of the Craftworld any more, and all oficial art of Yriel has him wearing black/very dark blue instead of the yellow and bright blue colours of Iyanden. As for him currently having a nice model, so did Celestine but that didn't stop them replacing her with a new plastic one.

The pattern is the same. We'll get the end times campaign books, full of great art and some rules. They'll be relevant for a few months like the End Times books were, and then we'll get the Age of Emperor or whatever where "Everything you previously bought will be irrelevant".

Don't buy books. That's what the internet was invented for.

That is the inherent problem. GW aren't saying anything.

People think they've changed with their webteam putting up cheeky little previews here and there and the odd cool animated trailer. End of the day we still don't know what's coming out and the now once-a-month WD has only made leaks even harder to come by. The secrecy remains in full effect and we don't know if 40K as we know it is going to exist in 6 months time.

"You're being overly dramatic!"

Tell that to all the Warhammer players that were blindsided by AoS. Here it's worse, as we know what that complete paradigm shift actually looks like in practice, and many of us don't want that.

Then there are those of us who despise GW's cynical attempts to rename everything so they can slap a ™ after it. Aelfs? Aeldari? Duardin? Orruks? Ogors? Fyrslyrs? They're Elves and Eldar. Dwafs, Orcs and Ogres. Stop being so pretentious.

THEY HAVE SAID IT GODDAMMIT.

They have said it quite a few times. On facebook, on twitch, on white dwarf and the preview videos. But no, we need to be on alert people! They are clearly going to AoSify this!!!

Eldar, Ogryns, and Orks is being pretentious already. The early are just elves, the second one are just ogres, the later are just a variation of orcs. But because it's been this way from the very beginning people view it with charm.

Now, let's move on to something actually productive.

It's crazy to me that everyone assumes it is a three character box. First off, the imperial box despite its name has 5 unique characters in it, sure three stick together but it is still 5 models.

There is the same chance that 2 unique characters are coming in the next released value box as there is that 5 or even more. Heck, could be Vect magnetized to come on an off his dais with is pet cat and body guards.

As for Yriel, I don't think it is him honestly, I have more faith in it being duke sliscus. That frontline gaming breakdown had so much inaccurate data in it is was hard to finish.

I'm seriously starting to think that the box will contain Eldrad and a new plastic Warlock Council on foot with Gyrinx as an upgrade option for them.

It's a wild, wild hunch but it kind of makes sense.

That teaser pick references trading soul gems or slaves as a reward for the lost gyrinx. Nothing about that screams craftworlder to me. I am guessing the cat belongs to a member of the True kin personally. Either Vect, his number 1 or malys.

Soulstones, Slaves, or a joke.

The Craftworlders do actually harvest soulstones from Crone Worlds.

Yea, I missed the jokes part for some reason. I still can't picture eldar trading soulstones but whatever. Now I can see how it looks like three factions. I am still betting it is more then 3 characters though, I doubt it is a seer council. I could see eldrad being tossed in though.

Probably Eldrad/Vect/Veilwalker, with Veilwalker having a Gyrinx.

I'm pretty sure everyone has guessed that, though.

Yes, that's kind of the point.

People dislike change.

Where that change is demonstrably positive, though, people will usually come around.

Where that change is silly, and serves no apparent purpose other than to allow a company to slap a Trademark on something? Not so much.

The new Eldrad model is definitely going to see rerelease alongside this, but I would be surprised if it was in this box. If they put Eldrad in the box, it would actually detract from sales since a lot of people have his new model. My guess is he will see a release separately.

Given that the Gyrinx miniature was on one of the medium oval bases I highly doubt it's Eldrad or a Warlorck Council.

It's likely a different (new, rules-wise) Farseer or Shadowseer Special Character in the middle of some floating magic casting pose.

I (quite selfishly) hope it's not Eldrad. I have the plastic Eldrad, I actually had 2 and gave one away to a friend. Don't need a third.

Eldrad could use a release as a clampack.

For a trio, Vect, Veilwalker, and Yriel would make sense. Replace two old models with plastics, and give Harlequins a proper HQ so they can use Combined Arms and Allied Detachments.

Well there were four Eldar characters mentioned at the end of part1. Eldrad already has a model. So if there is an Eldar character box my money is on Veilwalker, mystery red armour guy and the female Eldar "attired in a elaborate gown" who seemed to be in charge even though Eldrad was on the scene.

I was looking through the old 2000 Eye of Terror campaign book, and there was a lot of discussion about attempting to awaken the Avatar of Kaine. Think there's any chance the guy in red is a redone Avatar? (I don't think so either, but could be an outside chance - redone stats, "expanded" size to battle Knights and such).

I also noticed in that book the there's mention of Arhiman breaking into the webway to get at the Black Library - do you think that will play a major part in the next book?

Finally, there's also mention that the Necrons are trying to destroy "Talismans of Vaul" - so maybe Trayzn & kin switches sides in the next part?

By the way, was there any additional books put out to follow on for the old 2000 book? It just seems to cover the start of the 13th Black Crusade, stopping with the destruction of Cadia.

He shows up to save Lyanden, but he does not swear allegiance to the craftworld. He was an outcast for years before that, and you never see official paint schemes with him in yellow - usually, Yriel wears blue.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

I am not saying you are wrong, but do you have links to these? I never herd anyone mention this at all. While I don't buy White Dwarf it can't be used as proof since White Dwarf gets a lot of things wrong. Heck issue one or was it issue two doesn't even know what it's selling or how it's product looks. So White Dwarf is not a reliable source for anything.

So do you have links to the Facebook or Twitch where GW has said this?

Again, I am not saying you are wrong, just like to see it so if I see anymore chicken littles I can link them to the sky is not falling.
