Subject: How do you equip your Praetor?

I'm building an Iron Hands army, and I think I'm going to build my Praetor with a thunder hammer and a paragon blade with a cyber familiar to get a 3++ as well as digital weapons. Able to choose whether to strike at initiative with AP2 S5 or Unwieldy S8 AP2. Also gains an extra attack for having two specialist weapons which should mean 7 attacks on the charge. Very survivable and can handle himself against walkers and tanks.
What Legion specific load outs or generic load outs do you like to take?

Personally, I don't use a praetor I take Kharn with Gorechild. He's better than a praetor. If I were to take a praetor though I would probably give him paragon blade, digital weapons and a power fist for max attacks and versatility and chuck him in a big squad with chainaxes along with Gahlan Surlak for 4+ FNP.

Kharn is great. But down the road I want to build the guy you mention for gaks and giggles in the event that I'm running Angron (Kharn is a little less sexy without Gorechild). With all the relevant WE buffs, he's rocking 8 WS6 (WS7 in a challenge) Hatred attacks on the charge with either the PB or PF, rerolling wound rolls of "1". Expensive, but he'd be fun...

I don't even get praetors, I get reaver lords! Think praetors with worse armour (start with a 3+, have to buy a 2+), worse weapons (can't take paragon blades, only two-handed power swords with +3 strength which is good against mechanicum robots I guess?), can't take rites of war and to top it all off, costs considerably more for god knows what reason! I guess this is what I guess for choosing the weird hipster army...

How is a Paragon blade a trap? Because it cant hit tanks/walkers? BEcause I would never call an I: 5 power axe with the ability to ID a "trap"
My guy runs around as such: Artificer, Iron Halo, Digital, M.C., Paragon blade, Powerfist/chainfist. This gives you a 2+/4++, ~7 or 8 attacks on the charge, and the ability to choose anti-tank or anti-infantry/characters.

I play Blood Angels.
Artificer armour, jump pack, digital lasers, iron halo and the Blade of Perdition (AP2, melee, two handed, master crafted, deathfire - all wounds inflicted are double, roll to save each wound separately)
He's dangerous on his own but teaming him up with a Chaplain makes him an absolute beast, even better if you get the Child of Terra warlord trait (re-rolling 1s to wound in combat). In my last game, he chewed through a 20 man tac squad and butchered the opposing Praetor, in the game before that, he murdered a 10 man assault squad in a single round of combat (after they charged him).

Artificer Armor, jump pack, iron halo, digital lasers, paragon blade. Since I run Luna Wolves I tend to have this guy roll in with a jump pack Reaver Squad to start eating units.

Because the power fist equivalent is better against almost every target and with the (chain) fist you can also kill dread and vehicles.
Paragon looks great and feels awesome, until you realize the fist solves every problem more reliably.
Maybe it's cause I play Iron Warriors and don't get any cool bonuses to assault, but my warsmith has punched out numerous vac predators with paragon blade

Honestly.....I dont lol. I have used a my 40k white scars in a few test games to see if I would like 30k white scars.
I just used my friends Sammeal conversion he uses for his DA conversion.

I'd say against other Praetors/vehciles a P. fist excels. however against Srgts. and mulching your way through marines, the paragon blade really shines (hence why I take both on my praetors, usually  ). getting able to wipe 4 or 5 (possibly up to 7 on the charge) marines BEFORE they get to swing is a nice boon.

the problem is what is "standard" terminator armour. Deathshroud Terminators are labeled as just having "terminator armour" which FW said can be any kind, so long as it's represented. that makes me think that this is the same way, because otherwise they would have specified indomitus IMO.
Maybe an oversight, maybe not. But yes, RAW tartaros can't take 'em, which is lame. Either way, TO THE EMAIL-MOBILE! ;P
