Well it seems we're getting "super" marines made from robuts blood. Better in every way then regular ones. The ending paragraphs support this but obviously don't state it directly. Just make vague allusions to new weapons and armies of war never seen before as Guiliman sets cawl to task. So the rumor guy is like 95% likely to be right.
Just read the review of the story. It's very good, but yeah in Revelations it's a little weaker than the stories before it.
The new fluff points are rather interesting and I must say that
Spoiler:
Cypher will get what he wants if they put him in a prison in Imperial Palace.
Also, isn't "as the war against Chaos enters a terrible new phase" a basically confirmation of the beginning of End Times?
Now I am hyped for 8'th and expanded fluff it will provide.
Spoiler:
No. I highly doubt we are going to straight into the End Times, just because someone said that we are going into a new phase of a war.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

It seems to me that the original grimdark of 40k was partly about how terrible things were at present, and partly about how things were only going to get worse going forward. The new fluff seems to be going in the direction of various factions rallying to struggle against that fate. So now there is a move from grimdak to grimhope where there is a shot at actually resisting the final destruction of everything. But even then, it will still be the overzealous IoM, manipulative self-serving Eldar, domineering Tau, and all the rest. It's not like there's a shot at everything winding up as a reasonably 'good' ending (as opposed to AoS where that is portrayed as a real goal), but there is a shot at avoiding ultimate oblivion. And this will be where the game of 40k comes in, instead of playing as forces trying to bring about, or resist against, the inevitable apocalypse it will be playing as forces trying to bring about, or resist against, the preventable apocalypse. Things will still be dystopian, just a few steps less so.
Well the Hastings rumour is that the new Gulimarines will obsolete marines in the same way Stormcast did to The Empire.
Luckily I play a 1st founding chapter so can fall back on 30k sucks for my xenos armies though.
Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Because Celestine and the Sisters of Battle accompanying her played a major role in the story, unlike Sisters of Silence who played at most an ancillary role. And yet a Sister of Silence gets top billing, center stage surrounded by a guardsman, a knight, a marine, and a custodian, all hovered over by a blank-faced Guilliman... and Sisters of Battle / Celestine get nothing.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

If its wasn't for the fact that AoS is new, they'd probably give a run to the SoB's as far as being sidelined goes.
They are as sidelined as all non-ghoul undead, slaanesh demons and mortals, goblins, vanilla orks, non-beastclaw ogres, all varieties of elf, non-Fyreslayer dwarves, and arguably everything Nurgle.
You want to know what they all have in common? They haven't had official model/lore relaunches yet.
Honestly, people need to stop with the whining about "X" faction doesn't get enough screentime, when they haven't even been put on stage yet.
And as Daedalus said, Free People (the Empire) have shown up in the background slightly more prominently as of late, but also are key to the background of the AoS setting (Sigmar led an army of entirely Free People during the Age of Myth)

Honestly Sisters are more analogous to Brets or Tomb Kings, they both had lore in the End Times... Hopefully Sisters WONT go that way.

Aren't Custodes already 'better space marines' though? At any rate, stormcast are basically fantasy space marines but 40k already has those, so even if there is a 'super space marine' I wouldn't expect them to be the new poster boys like stormcast are. Further, stormcast are to normal humans as space marines are to imperial guard; having one doesn't invalidate the other.

Maybe they are going ti make a talons army list for 40k?
Hopefully in the next week or two, could use a few more sisters and another excuse to build my custodes army

As part of the Talons of the Emperor, the Adeptus Custodes are the golden claws of the Imperial Eagle, the bringers of Terra’s bellicose vengeance across the galaxy. Their gleaming weapons and pageantry of war incorporate the finest examples of the battle-artificer’s skill. This codex gives you full rules for adding Adeptus Custodes to your Warhammer 40,000 armies.
CONTENTS
– Three datasheets: Custodian Guard Squad, Venerable Dreadnought & Land Raider
– One detachment: Golden Legion Task Force
– Armoury of the Adeptus Custodes and Aegis of the Emperor special rule
– Adeptus Custodes Warlord Traits
– Background for the Adeptus Custodes' return to the galaxy
– A showcase of Adeptus Custodes Citadel Miniatures
DESCRIPTION
The hour of action is nigh. With the surge of Chaos activity across the galaxy and the threat of eternal damnation more real than ever, the Adeptus Custodes have taken their vow of protection to its logical extreme – they will see the destruction of those forces who pose a threat to the sanctity of Terra. Clad in baroque, golden artificer armour and armed with priceless relic weaponry, the Adeptus Custodes make for a magnificent sight. They tower over mortal men; each has the statuesque physique of an ancient hero, close to nine feet in height even without his scarlet-crested helm. On the battlefield they are a force to be reckoned with – with guardian spear and ornate broadsword alike, they cut a swathe through the foe, bringing entire armies of traitors and renegades to their knees with the might of the Emperor himself.
This codex includes the full rules for Adeptus Custodes in games of Warhammer 40,000, including a detachment for adding them to your armies, and rules for mighty Custodes Dreadnoughts and Land Raiders!
Small amount of units, but better than an 'aux detachment' I guess

I think this is a good thing and I don't see the sky falling. This is basically repackaging some existing models - from the Prospero box set, the plastic Contemptor, and some gold painted Space Marine tanks - and giving people some extra 40k rules to use. No sign of a downgrade of space marines [there are literally Ultramarines in the front of one of the preview pictures!] or the classic space marines getting the Warhammer Empire treatment. Bring on easier use of some cool models.

So even the adeptus custodes stopped sitting on their asses all day and are actually fighting for the Imperium.

I guess this was published prematurely and is only a separately sold part of a Talons of the Emperor (e)book, like Daemons have an Incursion codex extracted and sold separately from Curse of the Wulfen. Maybe we will see an additional, larger (e)book release and/or a similiar document for the sisters.
