I was able to dig out my primed box and dust off the marauders for a pic. They’ve been lurking around the back of my workbench for a long time now. I’d going to try to do at least 4 of them this month.

Still need to find their shields...

Not really sure what to do this month. Whittlesey is doing heroquest again, perhaps we could have our own little challange. The only non-marine figures ive got unpainted are a couple hordes of heroquest undead and greenskins. I'll poke thru the box of random figures and see if anything catches my eyes.

I honestly don't know. I could enter my Mechanicus Avitarius Assassin? Primal fear of death, and being relentless hunted? Maybe?

Keezus: Croc is a sebeki harbringer from Crocodile Games (appropriately enough). https://www.crocodilegames.com.
Ssissal: I'd figure the orcs would count at a minimum.
Verviedi: I'm not the authority on it, but I'd be cool with that.

Seeing how good people are here I'm not very confident that I will receive any votes, but I really want to challenge myself and see what I can do in my current skillset. Also first time entering!

Is it okay if I have base already done or do I need to make a new one?

Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Welcome to the challenge Ninjapirate.

I just started painting figures about 14 months ago. I highly recommend this challenge. Your first few figures will end up looking like poo in your eyes compaired to the work of some of the dudes and chicks here.

Thing you gotta remember is alot of these people have been painting for 5, 10, 20, 30+ years in some cases. So DO NOT get discouraged or look down on yourself. Look at it more like.. Your painting in the same room as all these other experts. You will learn so very much, specially from the few that post their progress pictures or desciptions of what they did to get what color/effect on something.

Do not hesitate to ask questions, alot of them. The people here are just like you and me. I dunno about you, but i love talking about my figures that ive painted. stuff ive tried that worked and stuff i tried that failed badly. Nobody cares if you dont finish by the deadline. I promise nobody will track you down and hold a gun to your head to paint, or to post pictures of your figures. I started most of the challenges last year, didnt finish all of them on time.. some took a few extra months, cuz life happens or ohh shiny new figure happens.

And for the love of God, before your start painting make damb sure you know what "thin you paint means" Because if you do not thin your paints. You will end up with stuff like these pictures below. I was like.. its thin-ish.. no if its not flowing like skim milk its not thinned enough. You will thank yourself for taking the time to learn how to do that properly. These three bikers were first things i painted, before a codex or reading the instructions on how to build them that came in the pack. I keep them to remind me where i started at. They lead my ravenwing attack squadrons 1 and 2 and the combat squad of 1 for the normal biker.

I apparently have a large box of the wow boardgame minis, so i have tons of non-marines or dnd figures that i can call on for this stuff in future.

This month ill be working on some of this green horde. I think one of each "type" as a test model to do the rest of the force over the remainder of the year.

OK so seeing as I didn't finish the last one thought I might try and get in on the action a little earlier this time around. So I will be entering two plague bearers and a herald of Nurgle this time...and will get them finished before the end of the month this time

Going to enter Xarsiss the harpy queen as... well it's the only semi-primal miniature I actually have available at the moment.

Had this Minotaur looking dude on my desk for 3 or so years, might as well try and finish him. Was hoping to have him 100% scratch built but i may resort to using bitz to finish him. I likely wont be using much of the bare musculature aside from the chest, am hoping to achieve a ye olde carnival o' horrors look for the finished creature if you're curious.

For the record, it's been five months since my last, i keep them around... For some reason. Also the contents of that chicken bucket were slightly disappointing

Good luck everyone.

I am up for the challenge this month. I went to Adepticon and got a swag bag with this model in it. I don't know of more things primal than the ultimate killing machine.

I've started the painting already too.

If you're not in it to win it....

j/k

I think the whole point of this is to get minis painted that maybe would sit on the shelf or in the drawer of shame for a long time If I get pointers along the way, grand, if I improve even better. But the end all be all for me is seeing all the pretties done

Anyway, so first attempt ever at doing anything other than really priming with my airbrush:

Welcome to the challenge Ninjapirate (a dragon is a pretty impressive way to start ) and Shuma-Gorath, Good luck

Some pretty impressive entries already.

The colour transition on the wings looks great Guildenstern

@everyone - Let the Wookies Win!

My proof - Going for a savage ork/snakebite chariot conversion, as always haven't figured it all out yet but theres an idea in there somewhere.

p.s My job changed location on the 1st of April so I won't be around much during the week, ill still try to keep doing the challenges etc but will be on less. :(
