I would definitely be cool with a Tau Triumverate that featured Shafowsun and Farsight, but they'd be way too much plastic between just the two of them to justify it. The current Tau commander suit is larger than guilliman or cawl, a ghostkeel is right out.

The current Tau Commander Suit, heightwise, is taller than Guilliman or Cawl.
The two Imperials are bigger though. Ghostkeels aren't as big as you might think they are either.

Speaking as someone who's built both those suits and been putting off building Cawl, he's roughly on the same level of sheer work and plastic density as a commander suit if that kit was shrunk down to two sprues instead of the three I by removing the optional weapons and coldstar parts.

And even if the ghostkeel is smaller than a riptide it's still far and away bigger than anything in the Triumverate boxes.

We don't know yet if characters can still join squads.

And really, they made a huuuuuuuge deal about her taking a Ghostkeel during Damocles. It's happening.

The huuuuuge deal about her using a ghostkeel was it was a standard ghostkeel- that she was using her special custom unique character-looking named character suit as bait for a trap. Slapping a second fusion collider on the other arm and having her stick her head out of it would be broadly counterproductive.

And really, that's what illustrates the point about Shadowsun I'm trying to make: she's not the sort who runs around getting into combat and acting all glorious; she's the cool head, the strategist, the force multiplier. Even if she can't join other units in the next edition, that's what she should be.

Not saying they won't do it, either. I'd just rather it be a new ghostkeel ace riding around in a cool custom ghostkeel, and let Shadowsun do what Shadowsun does best.

But regardless of what they decide to do, you're not going to see more than one model the size of a crisis commander in a Triumverate box, the pattern so far has consistently been 1 big, 2 small (...ish).

I too am on board with others concerning Orks.

Ghazzy''s model is outdated and his fluff has advanced forward. He's much larger now after winning the Octaria war and it's time he be made into an MC, killed off, or fluff retcon to Orks not growing from fighting anymore. Long overdue for his model to be addressed if they were going to keep him alive.

Mad Dok is also an old model that would be nice to see updated but I don't see any reason to change his stats. My dissapointment is how GW handled cybork body. He's just a hairs breadth away from being a warboss in stats and is fine where he is.

I WANT to see Orkimedes released. Like badly. Any package, triumvirate, box set etc.. that features Orkimedes will be quickly bought by me. He is part of Ghazzy''s Waaaaaagh! Council sonce his beginning and it's time the galaxy sees the ork behind the myth. He can't stay hidden forever especially since he's the top target on the Imperial Assassin list. A scenario that needs to be played out, failed and the mission being assigned to Deathwatch.

Makari is dead now. His luck ran out. While on the surface his death by being sat on seems disingenuous for a named special character I'd point out that he was a grot. Callous pointless deaths are their shtick. Out of countless grots meeting magnanimous ends, Makari met his from the posterior of the biggest baddest ork there is, so it's a significant celebratory death for grot.....relatively speaking *ahem*.

Abaddon, Typhus, and Lucius are definitely next on a redo.

For Orks, I could see Mad Dok , Ghaz, and maybe Nazdreg or Zogwart.

I'd be fine with having a big Ghaz as the centerpiece of a Triumvirate. I think I'd like it just as much, though, if they did 'something else' with him and let some other characters take the center stage for a bit.

Nazdreg and Badrukk seem like they'd be a good pair in a set. Orkimedes or some Weirdboy character would be cool too.

I can't see Makari coming back as Ghazgkhull actual sat on him. I can't remember which version of the Ork codex it was in but they had an item which was Makari's lucky stick which backfired on you if your rolled badly.

I would love to see a Night Lord Triumvirate:

The Night Haunter: NOT Curze, he died. The Night Haunter to return in full bat-nephilim in daemonic power armour!

Sevatar: Just bring that bad boy back already!

Decimus: Would LOVE to see fluff progression on him..

Black Templars: WIP
Night Lords (30/40k): WIP
Red Corsairs: WIP
Iron Warriors: WIP
Orks: 6000pts

If Creed's coming back it's as a chaos puppet/champion. He stayed behind to let the others escape Cadia and would have been lost when the Eye of Terror took the planet (pg 81 full of chaos) so he's either dead or Abaddon's got him.

It might be interesting is Abaddon did get him though, then you could have a Triumvirates of the returned - Leman Russ, with Creed and the Grey Knight founding Grand Master Abaddon captured on Pandorax (don't think he ever gave his name)

Ugh. No.

If we get a Guard Triumvirate:

-Pask with a special Leman Russ
-A Kasrkin themed Colonel with two bodyguards
-Captain Thade, from "Cadian Blood", with his cyber mastiff.

It's not likely to be Janus as the one captured has links to the Dark Angles (there were 8 original Grand Masters, Janus being the 1st Supreme)

I also a agree that it's most likely Creed died with Cadia, though if anyone was vindictive enough to snatch him up it would be Abaddon or one of his cronies.

I'm really not keen on your Cain dude. He's only really attractive to those who've read those particular books. To everyone else, such as myself, he's just some uppity Commissar with everyone's head up his tiny plastic ass.

I'd apply that entirely to novel characters. Cain and Gaunt are interesting surely in their own context but in the wider scope of the universe they are nobodies and its really annoying when people request them for the tabletop, mostly for the reason that their plot armour would be rediculously overpowered on the tabletop, or there would be non-stop complaints about how unfluffy they are. Let's just leave such characters in the books.

I think Imperium have enough Triumvirates to be honest...

Nah. Marine factions have more than enough trumvirates. Theother factions? Not so much.

Personally I would like to see:

.Colonel Commissar Gaunt
.[Sisters of Battle character]
.Inquisitor Gideon Ravenor... Or another possibly.

Triumvirate of the Dynasties

- The Silent King
- C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer
- Varguard Dude of Imotekh or Silent King

Triumvirate of the Empire

- Shadowsun
- New top-dog Ethereal
- New (Fireblade?) character

Triumvirate of the Dark Gods

- Lorgar
- ?
- ?

Triumvirate of Blood

- Angron
- Doombreed* or Ka'Bandha*
- New Kharn model
- New Skulltaker model

Triumvirate of Filth

- Mortarion
- Typhus
- Epidemius, Herald of Nurgle

Triumvirate of Excess

- Fulgrim
- Lucius the Eternal
- The Masque of Slaanesh

The chaos ones are great opportunity to update the old resin characters and also force people to purchase the expensive box set to get said character (to be released seperately at a later date)

Triumvirate of Commoragh

- Vect
- Drazhar (maybe confirmed as Ahrha, the Fallen Pheonix)
- Malys, Avatar of Cegorach

Triumvirate of the Waaagh!

- New Ghaz
- 2 new Ork characters

Triumvirate of the Hive

- New Old One Eye
- New Deathleaper
- New Parasite of Mortrex

The thing to remember about the Triumvirates is that both came with a large centrepiece miniature and two new, unreleased characters. In the Imperium's case this was one established character and a new one within an existing army. In Eldar case it was two new characters entirely. Thus, each of the future triumvirates should contain a large centrepiece model (Daemon Primarch, Avatar of Cegorach, C'tan, Nidzilla, Tau Battlesuit character) as well as two small characters, who either pair with existing groups (such as a new Ethereal or Drazhar model) or being a completely new model.

I think the above options are a good mix of updating old miniatures, bring back removed characters, releasing big centrepieces and small single characters, all within a theme.

I wouldn't say Imperial Guard would get one as there is already a Triumvirate of the Imperium that covers AdMech, Sisters and Inquisition. There is simply no cool name left to take. And if there was another name, my theory is

- New Creed Model, post-Cadia, or his new equivilent
- Pask in Leman Russ (Leman Russ with weapons from both kits, plus some decorative bits on a sprue with Pask himself)
- Sly Marbo

They put slambo in AOS with special rules and he was essentially a fantasy inside joke/internet meme, so don't think the one man army can't return on grounds of being a joke.

Also if tau get a triemverate, can we please get Shas'o Kais? He was in DOW, in fire warrior the game and trained with shadows in and farsight, you'd think that chaos snuffing lunatic would get in the game by now.

You dare imply that everyone'a favorite guardsman isn't as much of an iconic show of warhammer 40k history? Also slambo was a popular meme around /TG/.

Also, sometimes 40k is at its best when it knows just how stupid and over the top it truely is.

For "everyone's favorite guardsman", I didn't see a quarter of the love he gets until after he got removed.

Anyways, yeah. I won't just "imply" that. I will flatout say it.

There is nothing interesting, redeeming, or helpful about Marbo. He was a trash unit that people used as a crutch and I hope that he stays dead and buried.

I hope they take this time to introduce one new and interesting character to the Tau. Right now we got Shadowsun and Farisght as interesting folks.

I'm not sure adding a new Ethereal into the mix is what we need. It seems too samey to Aun'va. If it is a new Ethereal I think he should be waaay different than the old space pope. Much more liking to command and kick ass on the frontline.

I want to see an original and new character added. Could be a new Tau general, could be a very important kroot, or vespid, or even a new aux (depending on what GW have planned).

Just a totally new character we have not see. What if it's an important human leader? It really depends on where they are taking the Tau fluff. Are they incorporating more Aux or making the Tau more of a stand alone army? Aun'shi is interesting, but not interesting enough for a big triumvirate release.

Edit
I actually really like Darkstrider dude, his coolest moment is when he killed the vindicare. I have his model all painted up. He was my first Tau commander I ever bought too. He could be interesting enough if they advance his fluff a little. Still I feel this is a missed opportunity to introduce a new character who I value more. I'm all for Darkstrider being in more lore and battles though. Seriously underrated. I want a reason to be able to take him in FSE armies as well as normal Tau ones. I really want to see Darkstrider lead a crew of elite infantry mercenaries who does work for both Tau and FSE. So kind of like a Tau A-Team. I'm even planning on making this team with some of the big'shas model and a few others from wargame exclusive.
