New models out of scale with older models - Check

Tactical Debris - Check

Great Coat over powered armour - Check

The new stuff looks ok to be fair, but I do wonder if they hired an ex CB sculptor.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

They are actually meant to be bigger than regular marines, which means that they are actually in scale to the regular marines.

Tactical Debris - Check

GW has been doing themed basis for a long time now, which is something I haven't been a fan off.

The skull helmets would be good for Chaplains, maybe?

Easy to build kits are a big positive for me, and I've been in the hobby for years. Been feeling like the plastic kits lately are way too complicated and not fun at all to assemble. Used to love assembly as a kid, now hate it. I'm all for more easy to build models.

If they make a primaris chaplain who sucks, a weapon swap and a bitz-box full of purity seals will be an easy fix.

Not fond of them as-is. And their rules would have to be very good for me to want to pick them up. The pose kills it. Just standing around, with an odd gait. I’d expect more crouch/stealth, or aggressive charge for them.

Librarian might work, need to see the helmet. High hopes for the captain. Like what I see so far, and they promise options. The question is if the rules justify picking him up. I’ve got plenty of captains. A primaris one with an extra wound over the dozen on my shelf is not inspiring me to drop the cash. But of the minis shown, IMHO he’s the best looking.

Giving the scale-creep a fluff justification doesn't make it look any less silly.

A greatcoat and a cloak aren't the same thing

Having said that, I like the Librarian. Captain is meh. Reivers look cool.

Just a shame they're not usable with existing marines. If the Primaris marines had been just a resculpt, rather than a rescale, this new edition would have been costing me an awful lot of money. As is, I'm unlikely to pick up anything other than vehicles.

Same for me. I have a ton of plastic laying around, so while I'm getting back into 40K with all my unused Space Marines it will be with all my old stuff supplemented by small purchases of Dark Angel boxes to supplement and maybe some new vehicles.

Hmm the helmets from the Reivers are 'normal' sized right? good then for chaplain conversions! but the models as a whole are a little too reminiscent of 80's G.I Joe or action figures with the contrived 'special ops' look. the head of the Libby i'll use as well but i'm still not really wowed by any of the new marines stuff, it feels like an entirely new faction and the aesthetic doesn't appeal to me, but that's my own problem, others love them and i'm happy with my midget marines, i just hope they don't only do the Primaris from here on.

They do. Bothers me as well. Maybe sculpting a small armour plate to cover the front of the 'socks' would help.

I think i may just put some greenstuff in and smooth it into a nice full leg plate.I like the idea that these guys can remove armour panels to suit different roles, But it just looks like an exposed sub assemble of the model to me.

Reivers are pretty cool. They look almost ninja-like. I like the stripped-down armor. The Captain is quite exciting to me (options, you say?!). Libby is a toss up right now, leaning towards no, but maybe my opinion will change when I see the helmeted version.

All in all, I'm interested in 3/5 of the new Primaris stuff. Most exciting for me would be the Dread, but I'm apparantly in the minority there.

I like the dread, and the captain previewed looks ok as well.

I want to see how the intercessor multipart kit looks. I'm hoping sergeants get weapon options in the bigly codex because dishing out some powerswords would give the intercessor squads I've got some close combat bite. Even just the arms you can add power swords to, because I've got plenty of those from sprues.

The FW resin Lava Lanterns are pretty popular here.

Personally I like more the washing machines, the pregnant and the normal one

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Waayy too much robe.

Wonder if Space Wolves (or any other Chapter) will get army specific Primaris characters? I would imagine so.

Yeah, as I feared, they have edgy helmets.
The rest of the model is fine though.

I...I really like these. Wish they were a full kit (and hope they get one down the road). Looks like I'll be picking up that new starter set since I like all the Nurgle stuff too.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Hmm, odd. I like the Librarian a lot less than I expected to, but the Captain is pretty nice even if most of him is useless to me(by the time I finish reworking these guys into truescale Marines much of the surface detail has been obliterated). I actually like the head on the Librarian, but it does seem oddly out of scale, hopefully that's just an optical illusion.

The Reivers...hmm. Some of the components look good, but of course those will be the most sought after ones so good luck bitz ordering them. If I was collecting a Primaris force I'd like them, but for my purposes I might pass.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

The captain is standing almost tip toed on the little rock and looks a tad too roman for me. That's the thing that stands out as irking me is the big boot on that lil rock. The weapon options are bland. I am wondering where are the primaris power fists, power hammers...etc. I think a captain should have access to more outstanding exotic weapons than a typical power sword and bolt rifle...talk about bland. But thankfully we know he has at least a few options in the kit.

As for the librarian, I like him but I need to see the helmeted version before I can say i'm gonna buy him.

In a van down by the river

Main thing dampening my enthusiasm for the Librarian and the new starters is my dislike of unhelmeted Marines. I'm already not entirely thrilled about the ones that come in Dark Imperium, and it seems like all of these run afoul of that preference. That said, probably pick up the Captain if he's not too insanely priced, and hopefully the "normal" hard-to-build version of the kits will allow for all-helmeted ones.

Nice to see truescale marines may still work. Hello Scouts! Snipers will take some converting. But terminators look like the major odd men out though in size...

Looking forward to the non-monopose version of everything!

The tiny bit of rubble he’s resting his foot on is probably the weakest part of the mini IMHO. Should be a very simple fix to put something a little more substantial under there though.

I wonder how long we are going to have to wait before we get an armory for the primaris guys. Right now we have monopose guys, and the rules for those specific minis. But there is no really reason they should be that restricted. Hopefully is that captain kit has a bunch of options it will be the start of a more fleshed out codex.
