Do we know when they will be teasing us with any more pics or info on Necromunda? I'd love to see some more gangs soon or more of the complete set? like a lot of hobbyists my mind is already going a mile a minute wanting to start a gang and build a hive!

For the record, I'm not angry at GW for the new models not being in scale. It's well past the point where GW models being out of scale is in any way a surprise. So it's not something causes anger, just disappointment.
People expressed an opinion on the scale of the models, and discussion ensued. This isn't people 'nitpicking', but simply people having an opinion.
So, can we stop with the psychoanalyzing the motivations of posters and get back to talking about Necromunda?

Pretty much my thoughts when reading GW threads lately.
I mean, they're resurrecting fething NECROMUNDA and people are losing their minds over meaningless gak like a model being 1-2mm taller than their metals from 20 years ago.
I look forward to seeing more actual news in this thread someday instead of this gak.

Yes, as I just realised something, assuming the whole original gangs are getting plastics, doesn't that mean somewhere down the line we will be getting plastic mutants as part of the Muties, and plastic servitors as part of the Pit Slaves? So much conversion potential, INQ28 is basically going to be a full range of choices off the shelf in a few years.

I guess it's what people can handle in terms of emotion, what most of us see us normal discussion probably does look like rage to the kind of person that has a panic attack at the thought of having to talk to a person over the phone. Takes all types.

Mmh, I don't think we'll see all gangs in plastic. And I guess it's more likely to see a resin upgrade for regular pastic servitors (one can hope) from GW than plastic pit slaves used as servitors.

The word earlier ( IIRC) was that all Specialist 'standard' models would be in plastic, with Blood Bowl Star Players being in resin. So if they re-do any special characters for Necromunda, I wouldn't be too surprised to see them in resin as well, but anything else should be plastic.
Plastic pit slaves would be all sorts of fun.

You can take a step back and knock it off with the hyperbole.
As for resurrecting, as with everything GW, you have to pretty much pray that you DON'T get everything you ask for, because in the end, every time GW attempts it, they manage to screw it up. "New Figures" outrageous scale. "New Rules Set" right after putting out a codex, that in the new game- things STILL need to be bought, because, you know, new space marines have to be a head taller then the head taller ones from the year before...
And those are just love taps. As was said, Wait and see. From my view, I am not in love with either the paint jobs, and bringing out a you know, human ganger, that is going to be twice as tall as a Cadian, Catachan or any of the other numerous figures, ( and YES, for over 20 years.) that do not fit with current armies/ gangs.
And for those Goliaths, they are going to become Nobs, or Human followers of Orks. Just saying. No maybe, no I think they are. They are going to be Human Ork followers or Nobs.
And for what its worth, people are generally excited. Just because they have an issue or two, and that said issue will obviously be squared away doesn't mean people can't voice their opinion without other people going over the top about it.

If we get those new gangers in plastic on Sprues. THAT is all I will ask for Christmas. If they try to reinvent the wheel in that tragic failcast, then they will have, as usual... completed the circle that is GW when it comes to giving you what they want, not what you needed.

I think what normal people who have SOs/spouses and professional careers and normal lives outside of toy soldiers see is an obsession with the female proportions of plastic miniatures by a select few people who'd love to imagine themselves as the majority, but are probably TFG at their shop that most people wish would leave them alone, oblivious to the social cues of those around them. They probably also assume the awkwardness they create by their lack of social skills is others having panic attacks. When really their probably the type of guys that causes other patron's wives to wait in the car while they go shop because they get too creeped out by them. Takes all types, I guess.

That's the handwave I'd probably go with if it needed one. Since Necromunda's inception, House Escher has suffered from a mutation that makes the women tall and the men short and stupid. The old miniatures could be random women fighting under the Escher banner, while the new ones could be direct descendants of Clan Escher's family tree.

The Goliaths have, by the warhammer community post, vat-grown muscles, so I assume some kind of clone-mega muscle sci-fi wombo yombo. Yeah they are exagerrated even taking that into account but... if they aren't much taller than newer human models it will be fine.
Plus... my god people. You sure are pretty emotionally invested with the scale issue, wow with this hostility

They said in the beginning of this thread that the Goliaths were on 32MM bases. That means that these guys are around the same size as the AOS Blood Reavers.
The Catachans in the picture are the boxed set ones from back in the day, on 25mm bases.
I took my Nobs, and am looking at the body's on 32mm bases. The Goliaths look like their legs are spread about that same stance as the Nobs. The Goliath legs are almost the same size apart.

Uhh... no. This has -ZERO- to do with the miniature being a 'female' miniature. The same issues apply equally to the Goliath miniatures as well.
Don't try to make this something it's not.
Why put female in quotes? Its pretty clearly a female. I equated it to the "Celestine is too fat" posts from a few months ago. Its the same level of nonsense as that. The look of the models is subjective, but they simply aren't out of scale with other human models. Taller in heels doesnt mean out of scale.

These Catachans, you know, (the guys that are supposed to be BIG), are smaller. Like the scale is not even in the same ballpark smaller.
Oh look, someone who can't tell the difference between a 25mm base and a 32mm base is going to try to lecture about scale. :S

Base size is serious business, in case you haven't played Necromunda.

I like my miniatures to be in scale with each other. It's not because I don't like everything GW do. It's not female proportions. It just helps when introducing people to the world/ game when things make sense.
For example, is this huge miniature that's bigger than all the others more powerful, and the answer is yes.
Is this other huge minature also really powerful, and the answer is no, it's just at a different scale.
While you can argue it shouldn't matter in different games, it helps when introducing people to collecting miniatures.

Given GWs rerelease of the classic miniatures for Blood Bowl alongside the new sculpts, it's not unlikely we'll see the same for Necromunda, creating an issue of scale.

Hey, those little guys are pretty cool!
Where can I buy some of those?
You have to hunt them down on ebay and 2nd hand collections. They're from 15-20 years ago and can be hard to find.
Oh, what about these new plastic guys that are bigger?
They're pretty cool. Are they also hard to find?
No, you can buy them at the FLGS or even Amazon since they're part of the updated game.
If Troy would want to find the older, smaller figures turn to Page 52.
If Troy wants to find the newer, larger figures turn to Page 68.
Back on topic:
How many models come with the base game?
Kind of curious that each gang only has 4 minis teased.
Will each gang get multiple copies of the same sprues or are we supposed to build gangs of 4 members each?

I don't think anything has been said about the number of minis included... although it's only 2 of each gang shown so far, not 4.
10 years ago, I would have said that it was likely there would be duplicates on the sprues, simply because that's how GW did their starter sets. Based on their more recent offerings, though, I would guess we're looking at 8-10 unique models for each gang.

And this comment shows exactly why people need to account for everything before making pronouncements, because guess how big Greyfax is once you account for her stilettos...?
~30mm to the eye.
Guess how big Scions are when you account for their pose...?
~30mm to the eye.
GSC? You get the idea.
Are you sure?
Greyfax is about the same height as the Genestealer cultist. She's slightly taller, but not anywhere near what it looks like in that picture.
Why?
1) her base is thicker (32mm bases are thicker than 25mm)
2) she's standing on tiptoes
3) Genestealer cultist is walking with feet apart and knees bent, Greyfax is standing completely straight
This is a perfect example of people complaining about differences in scale that don't actually exist.
