Aye, having painted historical 15mm minis before, they do not nearly need as much work as 28mm figures. Half the size, half the work right?

You'd think that, but not really in practice. Quicker, to some degree yes. However there are more of them and adding detail is more pain staking as it's easier to paint over bits with the wrong color.

I find 15mm much quicker. Don't usually bother with highlights as base colours and a wash are more than enough.

Indeed. Too much highlighting can also make them look strange at times.

By and large its a great scale to use to give the grunts a basic paint job, and the characters, and the figures you're more liklly to look at enjoy for yourself a little more attention. As by and large the distances are great enough that its more you knowing they have a killer paintjob than others seeing ir

I still have a couple of tins of Army Painter Quick Shade back from when I first started painting so may give them a try on the infantry, if I do back this game, then only use regular washes and highlights on the hero and special units.

Hmm.. this one looks far too good to be true. Reminds me a bit of the hex layout of the old MB/GW Battlemaster actually.

What's the catch?

I backed the original Zombicide and two of the subsequent four. I've paid for those pledges several times over thanks to the exclusives they came with. You really are missing out if you decide to wait till retail.

Another good point to make is that you can really make some money back following a popular KS. I've probably paid for the KS itself by selling exclusive minis for Zombicide some months after it has gone on sale - you have just so many characters in those kinds of campaigns, a bunch of them and extra zombies and stuff that I know I won't use, you'd be surprised how much people are willing to pay for some of those after the game has hit retail.

That really does feel like a thing now - the deal is 'too good', so people won't back!

Too much to do already, and this would then in turn add even more to do?!?

The deal isn't "too good" - the minis are half the size of a WFB / 40k. Pricing at $120+S&H isn't that cheap, either.

But it is a lot of minis if you intend to paint it, and hobby time is a lot less now.

Were else can you get this many minis, of same quality + everything else you are getting for something like 150$?

When I look at most other (CMoN) minis KS, you get roughly 1x 25mm scale figure per $1 pledged. At half scale, one should get at least double the number. Personally, I think when scaling down, 1x bases / stands per $1 would be more correct, but 2x half-size figures is close enough.

As for the buy-in at $120+$30 S&H, that's quite a bit above the $99 clip level where I almost don't care. In my case, wanting scenery would push this to something more like $250. That's quite a chunk of change.

It's currently at 391 miniatures for the base $120 pledge, so you get more than Triple, not double, the number of miniatures per dollar

you are getting here aroun 400minis, some bigger, so that's around 0.37$ per mini which I find very good value. Not counting those building and terrain you are getting too!
CMON for me has 40$ shipping, so more or less costs me same as this.
Just looking at some 15mm models, you pay around 3.5quid for like 4 models with worse quality than JoA.
Problem with CMON is, their games are mediocre when it comes to gameplay, you get a lot of plastic though...but who cares for plastic if game is meh.

Huh? IIRC, it was 238 minis for $120. If it's more than 3x, then yeah, that's good.

I wouldn't be adverse to more scenery showing up as stretch goals...

Leo also mentioned they'd show comparisons between the Mythic Battles Griffon and Joan's as the new one might actually be bigger.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Right below that graphic is the second graphic, showing the stretch goals that have been added. Together it's 391 minis currently

Sorry! Been away from pc for a week and it’s such a complete pain to try and post KS images via phone. Will be back at home later today so can start to post updates again (especially the first post).

RPG is now available. Hopefully this helps unlock the next stretch goal.

The updated beast sculpt is now ready but they are holding off revealing for the moment.

I was only kidding!

These things take on a life of their own, and can be hard to keep up with, especially when they move so quickly.

But thank you for keeping the thread updated!

I know you were. I was annoyed at how far I was behind!

Griffin is now unlocked and the next stretch goal is the start of a new free (possibly KS exclusive) expansion -

While this makes for an absolutely fantastic "15mm" historical fantasy toolbox, with only a few days left to decide, how is the actual game itself?

I'm trying to think of what kinds of Mythic creatures or units they could add to the Ottoman's.

That neck of the woods makes me think of Dracula, but I think the timeline would be a bit off, wouldn't it?

If they go with Tepes then he was born about twenty years before the end. They've already had Wallace who died thirty years before the start so I don't see that being an issue.

It's had universally good reviews from people who have played it. Techraptor and D6 Generation had it as their best new game at GenCon, Sam (Dice Tower) Healey had it third best at GenCon and top of his list of games to demo at Essen.

Next goal is now up.

Rule book was long promised to be uploaded yesterday but no sign of it so far.

In the comments it was confirmed that additional pledge manager exclusive addons will be available for items frequently requested by backers. One of the examples would be a pack to turn Ottoman Army from a tiny force to a full blown fifth army.

Thanks for the link!

The core rules are mercifully short, so that's a good thing.

Final addon -

Oddly, the Apocalypse pack doesn't do anything for me. I guess the beasts aren't how I've always pictured them.

I had the exact same reaction. I don’t think it helps that they have been advertising this as the addon to end all addons due to how special it was but compared to the others it is only average.

Also, Jesus really needs to give his horse a haircut as he can’t see where he is going.
