lol more power armor.

So the picture that was hinted are Thousand Sons, Custoed and Nagash. So no Necrons, unless Nagash is useable as a Necron C'Tan.

No. It’s the Custodes.

Ya I know, in my enthusiasm I skipped the rest of the topic xD

But man, those Custodes look sweet, especially the bikes. Makes me wanna buy a bunch for a small detachment, paint/ convert them Space Wolf and use them as such (with Custodes rules obviously, but fluffwise theyd' be Wolves. feth it that it doesn't make any in-universe sense, I want wolf-snout jetbikes for my wolves ).

Eh, pretty tiresome to see yet more big gold boys, but at least I know my wallet’s fairly safe from hobby damage in Q1. Can get caught up on the backlog I guess.

That’s not all, however – as well as giving you plenty of new ways to build and customise your Thousand Sons army, some new units will be making their debut in Warhammer 40,000. Thanks to the new codex, you’ll be able to lead your Tzaangor into battle with the Tzaangor Shaman or support them with disc-riding Tzaangor Enlightened – perfect if you’ve been looking for an excuse to pick up these models for your Tzeentch army. For those of you willing to risk mutation or madness, you’ll also be able to enlist a massive Mutalith Vortex beast to your dazzling ensemble, further expanding the forces the Changer of Ways.

As I said, I'm kind of disappointed. But the lore might make them a bit more compelling than just the 'heroes bedazzled in gold' cliche. I would hope it's not just more of the same for such an announcement.

Well, 1ksons at least seems to get a vastly expanded codex. at least 3 units ported over from sigmar into 40k, and possibly new stuff added on top of it.

I just want my godamn psychic snipers though.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Though compared to FW ones these are over blinged. These makes for swell elite jetbikes. FW ones are good for standard jetbike units.

Firmly in the " oh look more power armor camp".
Tzeentch codex could be exciting however if they flesh it out well.

If the bikes are even halfway decent rules-wise I'll have to pick up a set. Same with the custodes dreadnoughts from fw now.

I forgot about the awesome Custodes dreads from FW. I really like their vehicles too.

The FW Dreads are a must IMO. There's no way any Custodes of mine will share a deployment zone with that god awful plastic thing.

Since FW mostly never produces the same things as GW chances are you'll have to rush to get those last FW Dreads and such - unless I missed a notice that FW would keep their resin kits as well?

Any release dates with all this?
Was under the impression after Daemons, its Tau? Will they pre-empt that, follow Tau or be much later in the year?

Wait, did they just randomly stuff a large monster in the thousand sons list rather than daemons list?

The Custodes look ace.

The inclusion of the expanded Tzaangor units in 1KSons armies is really cool (the Enlightened are such good minis) and they're adding the Mutalith Vortex Beast to 40K!

Fingers crossed that when the World Eaters get their day in the son the Slaughterbrute will join them.

Seeing they are different units why would they? They sell variant predators etc. Why not custodian bikes and termies etc which rule and weapon wise are different.

The mutalith is explicitly not a daemon (the AoS keyword is "monster of chaos", whatever the hell that means), same with tzaangors.

That's... nice. It isn't a 'thousand son' or have the 'tzeentch' keyword either, so I have no idea why this would be a better way (let alone a reasonable way) to shoe horn it in to 40k.

The Thousand Sons codex was looking to be extremely sparse compared to the Death Guard codex, we needed some additions like this.

Because it's a giant 'vortex' beast and, based upon what they've said, will involve mutation, something that is very Tzeentc-y.

It's a natural fit. Hell, writing my own rules for one of them in 1KSons armies was the reason I bought one way back when. Turns out I was right to do so.

Yeah the Mutalith is one of GW's worst modern kits. The other gor kits being added is nice though but I still wish there were more Thosand Sons in a Thousand Son Codex.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

And what's wrong with the Mutalith exactly?

 Breotan wrote:

Based on what? It has expanded Tzaangor options. Because of the HQ you can probably do an army of them. Do you suddenly lose the ability to take a pure 1KSons Marine force because they exist?

It's a cool model, I like it. :(

Rubrics and SOT's aren't going away, and hopefully they'll be a bit better in the codex.

on the forum. Obviously

Oh, just more powered armored imperials who have no reason to be fielded as a stand alone military force. Well that's disappointing.

Aren't there like, less than 1000 custodes, and more suited for single combat than squad tactics? How the hell are they supposed to fight as a single army? Shouldn't they just stick to guard duty?

There have never been 'less than 1000'. They're even called "The Ten Thousand" at some points.

Really? I thought they were just guards. So terra has about 10,000 or so Custodes on it? Makes sense I guess, it is a big palace.

This is my major gripe.

As a 30k player and collector it's already jarring to see Custodes become the 'every other army' there and am hoping the next thing to come along for all legions will be a nerf weapon to custodes. It was always a complaint of mine with Grey Knights who are supposed to be rare and use other forces in their theaters, it's even worse, far worse to see just these guys running about everywhere...

...and yet another faction for 'keyword Imperium'... This is massively unbalanced compared to 'keyword Ork' or 'keyword Necron'... Give us xenos scum some allying potential? Let my Blood Axes take Imperial Guard like they used to in the Rogue Trader times.
