For morale boost, while we are stuck in an info limbo; a self-made ork quote:

Spoiler:

But wait, dis iz the best part... When we got all dat loot on board of my krooza, some `umie black ship with loads of golden bits and all sorts of dakka jumped into our system and did exactly what we were about to do - burned da whole place down from orbit! Naturally, our best mekboy Snapscrew tapped into their comms: just as they were yapping something about "greenskins scattering" and "great victory", me and my krew were making da jump to have anuva run in the neighbouring system! Almost died from all da laff dat day, I tell ya!

I was in my FLGS today and the lad that runs it knows someone at GW, Phil Kelly or someone like that, I forget who exactly, and I asked him if he had any ideas about the new ork codex and, all he's been told is, 'its coming soon' and he couldn't get any more information than that.

He did say that, supposedly, there will be another Armageddon campaign next year and he reckoned/hoped it would mean a new, bigger Prime Ork version of Ghazghkull.

He also said Leman Russ will be returning next year too but, I haven't heard any other rumours like that however, it seems plausible I suppose. Did someone suggest earlier in this thread an Ork/Space Wolf boxed game coming out?

Ditto. I've heard Wolves & Orks will get very little with their Codex (unlike GSC) but they'll be an Wolves vs. Orks campaign box later on.

Not sure how i feel about that... especially someone who is debating on not spending any more money on GW and start spending it on other nerdy stuff. We live in a world of many nerdy distractions and little patience. What could be a new linenof ork models could be a new shiny VR headset.

The problem is that when you get to 2k points and all you have left to paint is 100 boyz then you kimds feel like you do not need anything more but you're also bored of paintings ork boyz.

hmm, while i would pretty much prefer to have day one models with codex, but i guess its better to have them later then never.......
man, is it good or a bad sign to have such low standards for gw. these guys have been putting out more new models this last year then probably the previous decade (im most likely wrong, exaggeration, but still its blistering of how much they've produced recently). gw has improved their output, outreach and quality (of models specifically, rules are still hotly debated), but they still give off that "imperium/chaos only" vibe with everything just like their trash sister company fw.

at this point it seems the most we can hope for is getting new models....eventually in the future (heck, it could take another year till we get anything new and a rumor of "you'll eventually get something" would still be correct).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
posted this in another thread but seemed relevant to this speculation thread----

while officially gw has said the next codexs would be orks and wolves, i wouldn't fault anyone that hadn't done that much research to think the next codex was gsc.

seriously, the next codexes are ork and spacewolves, long standing armies with a strong backing of players who have been waiting patiently/impatiently since the start of 8th to get their time in the limelight, but soon after they are announced to be next we have got mostly nothing but gsc related stuff.

they release a "leak" video showing off some new gsc minis,
they focus the release of killteam with a majority of pics with gsc,
and the most recent article from regimental standard (while killteam related) is still focusing on gsc.

weirdly it seems gw has been trying to quietly hide under the rug that they announced the ork/sw codexs and are intending to release gsc instead.

this would've been the perfect time to focus every article on how cool and awesome orks and sw are. it doesn't even have to be rumors or leaks, it could be fluff articles and army showcases. they could've had the box cover killteam armies be sw and orks. build that hype for those codex that apparently they are releasing next. heck, this seemed like the pattern so far, they try to hype the next codexs with articles leading up to their releases....but what do we get?

we get them showing off just an ork booster box with an existing unit for killteam (a unit the ork player base is not very happy about due to its poor performance in 8th). spacewolves get a killtram starter but instead of iconic sw units its new primaris marines with no real differences then normal primaris marines, they could easily be mistake for non sw if they had a dif paint job.

oh, and let me not forget that recent facebook article that gw posted of kilakans...getting their squigs beaten into the ground by the new castelen knight.....

at this point i bet gsc will get the next codex...and gw will try to delete the community post that announced orks and sw (heck, its actually very hard to find, the article has no into pic or title that suggests codex reveals, witch are just a small footnote at the end of the article).

Another rumor from one of my local GW stores.

DISCLAIMER: I'm pretty sure the guy was just making things up and/or repeating stuff he read on the internet, but you might never know.

So that GW store has re-ordered his stock to basically have one "column" per faction on its shelf, basically the start collecting box, basic troops, some elite choice and one or two big boxes per faction. Same amount of boxes every faction, even space marines!
There were a ton of ork boxes in the "last chance to get" department (basically everything but the stuff in the ork section), so I asked the manager what's up with that.

He answered that the codex was due soon and claimed that orks would get almost half their range redone and that Thrakka would have a new, bigger model that would be in appropriate scale to what we see in the art.

The reason I don't believe him is that there were Flash Gits and Naut boxes in the "last chance to buy" section, and those are our newest models. So if anything they are being withdrawn for repackaging (new manual/bigger bases), worst case they move to online orders only like most things for armies that do have a codex.

Well, unlikely rumors are better than no rumors, right?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

There are only two things that I am certain about:

1) New buggy+wartrakks models

2) Space Wolfes + Orks campaign box.

Then there are two rumours I find likely:

3) New Thrakka model in Primark scale

4) New Kult of speed release/subfaction

I also think it likely, that we will have AoS/40k crossover ork models, tzaangor style. A weirdboy/shaman for example.

@jidmah

I've heard this exsact same rumour 3 times now... pretty sure it's just from the Internet. Half our range is too much... and is a big change. I would much rather they redo all our ood models before touching the new stuff we paid a lotmof money for recently. It punishes customers who bought a product a whole year ago.
I mean look at my Morkanaut! If gw gave him more options I'd be upset because that thing took a lot of time and effort because I thought it would last years and I seriously cba doing that again. However, the old stuff is like 20 years old so most the people who grabbed that likely have forgot getting it and also (no joke here cus I'm running with statistics) died.Sure more options eould be cool but they should have done that from the start.

New buggies, I'm all for though.

The reason why I wouldn't want a cross over is the styles are different. The Orcs are more rounded and their features look more fantasy. While the orkshave a sharper more skeleton look that makes them feel sci fi ish.

This was the case with my store as well, but he didnt say anything about a new range. The gorkanaut is not in that section in my store.

Okay, i will admit. I have had about 5 confirmed reports that the majority of ork stock went on last chance and sent back.

However, I doubt this will be for only online... if the entire ork range went online only that would kill off orks...

That would be strange, I'd have thought Orkz would be one of the more visually appealing forces to someone walking into a GW store to make their first purchases. They certainly got me as a kid.

Source?

With or without new models?

I don't mind so much if we're after SW, another codex release and we should be hot on the heels of that.

What will be more telling is the number of new model releases SW get. If the releases are minimal then we can expect the same.

End of August makes sense - with still more Sigmar and Killteam and then AT to come that would easily fill up the first weeks of August. That might make September a return to 40K with wolves, cultists and then orks.

Yea, rather than panic and go to that extreme, isn't it FAR more likely to believe we are getting repackaged with 32mm bases?

It's happening.

Looks like it will be a Orktember. Regardless, GW has isolated our codecies and now all eyes are on it. If they wanted to brush us under thr rug they could have brought us out randomly at the start.

aug 25th as a pre-order date for space wolves makes sense, I had originally assumed aug 25th as pre-order for orks with space wolves following, this being the case Orks are proably sept 8th for pre-orders.

So we could be looking at next month for any info. Or at the very least September. Hehe (dark humour joke ahead for those thinking I'm being depressing) what if gw just never talks about the Ork codex again. Like it jever comes out and we ask "when's the codex comming" and they either don't reply, tell us soon, tell us it's already out we just can't see it because they made the codex purple or say "what do you mean? What's an ork?"

Why bother yourself with extremely unlikely what if scenerios?

Oh my gork! I actually put in the dark humour part to say I was making a dark British humour joke because last time someone didn't get it and you still don't get it! It's a joke! It's over the top humour mixed with a bit of darkness in it to brighten the mood when things could be down. Do you really think I think gw is actually going to say they made the codex purple so we can't see it? Or deny the existence of Orks? It's standard humour... i don't know.. maybe i watched too mcuh Dead Ringers as a teenager.

for clarification:

1. When I say"hehe"I'm obviously not being serious. I'm doing the laugh you do when sat around a table with mates saying stupid stuff for laughs.
2. When i say "dark humour joke ahead for those thinking I'm being depressing" it probably means the following sentence is dark humour joke and is there for laughing, over the top humour that is not me being depressing.

Here is some more examples so we don't accuses me or anyone else of being depressing again:

1. A group of you are sat around playing DnD. You're rp character is trying to place a sword in his backpack. Someone in the group goes "hehe, what if you roll a 1 and you stab yourself then your trip and stab everyone else in the group killing us all instantly". Obviously this is an extremely unlikely scenario but you mention it because it's dark, over the top and plays to slap stick humour.

2. You're playing 40k and you're about to make a simple roll of 6 armour saves all on a 2 plus on your main hq to win a game winning you a £100 iackpot. Your mate goes "hehe, what if you rolled all ones". Obviously this is an extremely unlikely scenario but you mention it because it would be funny if it happened yet also dark.

3. You're crossing a stable bridge over a river but you're scared of hights and your mate goes. "Hehe, what if the bridge collapsed". Obviously this is an extremely unlikely scenario but you all sit around laughing to help take your mind of the fear.

I'm sorry if this is patronising but this is the 3rd time in a few days people think I'm being serious. So I'm making this public safety announcement so people realise (not just for you) that we're not all edge lords on dakkadakka.

The problem is that its not humor because your not funny. You ride conversations into the gutter like this then stomp your feet when called out on it.

you're the equivalent of the 'its a prank bro' youtube people. The ork player base online has gotten very toxic and negative, and your 'jokes' two things; they make it worse, and they aren't funny.

I am looking to get a bunch of models. Grots out the wazoo, mek gunz, and dozens of boyz (some of which will be kitbashed into kommandos, stormboyz and bustas.) The current models are 100% adequate for what I need. I love the current trukk and BW, and would be perfectly happy if GW released NO new models.

I would be distressed and mad.... But I still have about 150 Orkz to paint.... So, august September sounds good.

In the meantime I'll consider any games up until then to be mere practices with moving Hordes on the table.

Haha, the worst think about if I had to rebase all my ork boyz is that my moving trays would become useless. XD
