Quick rules question since we dont have a general topic.

If i want to make a blackshield legio(cuz i want to make a "round up the survivors" legio as i want to have every titan with different colours), what strategems can i actualy select from?
The restrictions on page 85 in the ryza boock is conflicting. I can purchase strategems from any allegiance, but i cannot buy loayalist or traitor strategems..... dont make sence unless they mean i can only use strategems from the ryza book......

No, it only means that you cannot use allegiance specific stratagems from another allegiance. If the stratagem says "any loyalist legio", "traitor legios only" or something along those line, you cannot buy that as a blackshield. You are free to use all stratagems that make no such restrictions.

Can I ask where GW are releasing rules for new units? I've gone and bought a bunch of the new knights and while I've found the links where GW lists the command terminals, it gives the price as + weapons... and there's no price for the various weapon options, or any indication of what combinations of weapons I can take (I can figure that bit for the most part, but still..)

Where are the rules for new units being released? White Dwarf? All those splat books like Doom of Molech? Some other source?

Thanks for any help. Has this gotten other players confused?

They're all on the cards and terminals.

Try the reverse of the terminal.

I've found the pdf download on Forgeworld for the Questoris and Cerastus, but it doesn't have the Acastus. But all I've found for the Acastus is the cardstock version, or this; https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/07/09/adeptus-titanicus-the-acastus-knight-porphyriongw-homepage-post-2fw-homepage-post-1/, which only has the front page of the terminal, not the second.

So have GW also released a command terminal pdf of the Acastus?

The current Acastus points are in the FAQ, since the ones on the terminal were pants on head silly.

And even the faq points still seem too low given how good they are at doing what they do

Yeah, but that's mostly because the points weren't the problem in the first place. They feel off because they are simply packing guns too big for their chassis and the only fix upping their points provides is the eventual point of uselessness where they get too fragile for the points that would be fair for their firepower. They are what they are because Household lists of only knights needed something shooty that can make titans concerned for their wellbeing, but that could have been achieved by providing more guns of appropriate caliber with cheaper points than absurdly overclocked doomcannons on fewer bodies.

I play mine nerfing them to not use Blast or make Aimed shots on the rare occasion I run knights, they are still fantastically pretty models. Adorable chonky bois, these murderturtles. If someone else wants to use theirs, I'm ready to take on their full force but throw off the kid gloves in punching them to dust with all the dirty tricks

Yeah the guns seem a bit strong for their size, at least with max 2 in a battlegroup they're somewhat limited but ya axing the blast part sorta makes it weird for the asterius.

Anyone else doing some wild conversions on their Titanicus models? I've been trying to replicate the look of some old school knights and ones of my own creation so I thought I'd share them here!

The challenge is actually finding the willpower to paint them all...

Trust me on this, there is nothing that hurts the willpower more then seeing a pile of stuff to do, unless you realy like to paint.

So, do what i have started to do, hide every single model but max two and choose thouse who makes you WANT to paint them.
Then find the quickest and fastest way to paint, just to get colour on them, you can allways go back and add details and highlights and layers at a later time.

The belted one was cute, like the plastic verison of this img

Some really cool conversions there Commander Cain!

I can recognise which models they are meant to be (the one with the twin cannons coming out of its carapace especially)

Got on a bit of a painting rush, basicly cuz i had a head full of visions, so did a Reaver from sprue to finished in a week. (yea, they are Blackshield ^^)
For me that is a new all time record, but i had fun cuz i could paint it however i wanted, and that is what i did not have last time i tryed to paint these things in a unifyed way and style.

My dealer is out of Warhounds and says 3 weeks for a restock. Kinda good cuz i need the painting break (plus i dunno how long it will take for my scenery 3rd party epic scale models to arrive to complete the basing)
anyways, phone cam so quality is what it is.

Begun scribbling notes for a solitaire mission.

At the moment I'm thinking the core ruleset, a box of warhounds and Questoris knights. The game will serve as an introductionary mission and could be the first in a narrative campaign.

The battlefield is narrow and long, and the player assumes the role of a damaged Warhound trying to make it to the other side. At some point a second Warhound will enter the battle field and give chase.

Mystery markers will be placed at certain locations and will be revealled when the Warhound gets close enough. They will reveal either a battlefield asset( modified for the mission ) or a Questoris Knight. Questoris knights will attack, most likely along with the assets.

The challenge will be repair the warhound to increase their chances of survival, and might look into a single-use repair facility model as a half-way objective.

The pursuing Warhound is at full strength and has been tasked with finishing off the player's warhound, giving the game a flavour of that movie "Behind enemy lines".

A pack of traditional playing cards will probably be the only other component required for the game...and some extra D6s to track the structure points of the individual Questoris.

Thanks to Crablezworth, and with the lockdown just announced it seems now is the right time for such a mission.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

One of the terrain rules we came up with, titans in water/ponds in the end phase reduce their heat by one, could cool for the solitaire mission, like if the wounded warhound has to boost his reactor to move further it might be enough to get him into the water.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

A few more notes on the solitaire mission...

Board area will be 50" length and 20" wide. Not considered scenery yet, but one of the three current plastic scenery sets should be plenty to work with.

The players warhound is currently set in the following state...
- the plasma reactor marker is placed in the amber position next to the red.
- void shields in the "X" slot.
- all of the markers for the head, body and legs are in the red position, but not on the critical damage tracks.
- armed with two laser destructors
- the right-arm weapon is disabled.

The set up of the board is a challenge, but conjuring up a basic plan of action...

There will be three tokens placed on the board at certain points and if the player's warhound gets close enough their content will be revealled. When revealled, the player will draw from a classic card deck containing 3 jacks and 2 aces. Drawing a jack will mean placing a Questoris knight at the marker's location, a Ace-of-hearts will be a plasma relay and Ace-of-clubs a void relay.

While the plasma and void relay are in the player's control for the duration of the game, the Questoris are not and will move towards the warhound and attack it with all available weapons. A D6 will be placed next to the Questoris models to record their structure points. To keep the game simple the Questoris are lone freeblades and will not stop until the warhound is destroyed - they are not given orders nor ever shaken.

Given the weakened state of the player's titan and the fact that its possible it could be fighting off three angry Questoris, the enemy warhound will give chase on the third turn and is armed with two vulcan mega bolters. Detecting its prey, the enemy warhound will do everything in its power to stop the player's titan from reaching the safety of their battleforce and thus will push its reactor to get into firing range.

The player must reach the far edge of the board at the beginning of the 6th turn to claim victory; any other outcome means defeat.

Obviously this all needs playtesting! Will be doing that this week and tweek where necessary. Been having thoughts for another mission; Inspired by Firefox down, I'm visualising a reaver retreating from a pair of warhounds and two banners of knights have been sent to intercept, allowing the reaver to escape. But that is for another time.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.
