This was the edition that made me go all in on new stuff. I admit I have a bad habit of buying second hand, and fading interest later.

And I don't really mind buying books. Or tossing/trading them when they're outdated.

I feel the opposite about books. Rules are the one thing that irritates me to blow money on. Miniatures can transcend games and editions. Rules you use for a few years and then are dead weight. I still have a shelf full of them, and do reference them from time to time, but mostly collect dust. I didn’t mind until 6th. 2 year turnaround killed my goodwill.

My wallet just took a pounding from all the Tallarn I collected, besides that it was mainly bits for my Blood Angels.

I'm in a fortunate situation that my wallet is not a limiting factor in my hobby purchases. However I have some backlog and being a father I'm constantly strapped for hobby time so I have to keep myself in check lest I get buried in plastic and burnt out on just the idea of delving into that overwhelming pile of unfinished stuff.

That said I'm heading for my LGS today. (Help me!)

Not really been interested in many of the later releases.

Titanicus, Kill team etc haven't really done it for me though I did get into Shadespire briefly.

I'm sure Orktober will be an expensive month however.

My friend and I have begun an Imperial Guard army with our own core rule set but we are going to use Victoria miniatures for the infantry. Sorry GW! Nothing else lately.

I've been quite Conservative this year.

I've literally just added stuff to my custodes force, as I had 40 custodes guard from buying all the loose Bop stuff. Saved around 75% on the total, including a free venerable contemptor dread from a friend who literally had no use for it (he has like 3 of the FW contemptor ones!)

However, I have splashed out on a Conquest magazine subscription for collecting a new primaris minotaur army.

So far, I've managed to get the primaris half of Dark Imperium for £35, 19 intercessors for £12, the store birthday captain and 30th anniversary Sargent for £35 so I've got a cracking start to my army for £82,nit too shabby!

With all the FW discontinuations, starting a new army and my ebay practices my wallet has been left so battered and bruised it may as well have prolapsed.

You love the T-Rex. Its both a hero and a Villain in the first two movies. It is the "king" of dinosaurs. Its the best. You love your T-rex.
Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

I really want to try my hand at a Titanicus diorama, but so far I've held firm.

Ask again at the end of next month and witness the parade of roaring shiny fingz driven by their proud and freshly-toofless mekboy owners.

I'm seriously considering throwing my wallet on the pyre for KillTeam in the meantime.

I'm probably going to set my tax return aside for that, depending on if the beta rules do enough to let me stop playing the same exact Mech Sisters army I've been playing since 2008.

Getting Orks for Orktober and finally started to replace my Mark I Rhinos, Mark I Immolators and converted Mark I Exorcists with current models. Also picked up some 2nd edition Eldar for my army that has been repaired over the last 8 months.

Cheers,

CB

GW's money grubbing ways have caused me to unplug from their plastic mold money making machine and only purchase some Kill Team rules content.

My wallet doesn't hurt because I set myself a budget for each month and I stick to it.

It also helps that nothing they've come out with recently (or is coming up) has really caught my eye. Titanicus almost did until I realized just how stupidly-overpriced the models are, and that's further compounded by needing to buy additional weapons separately for them. PASS.

I've instead been using the time/money to practice my hand at scratch-building terrain for the various game systems that I play.
