Derelict Factorum's a nice kit.

Think I'll get 2.

Yeah, I guess I'm grateful that these don't speak to me as well as last year's did. I'll probably still end up getting 2 or so, but that's better than the 6 I was fearing...

I was kinda hoping that there wouldn't be a box I wanted this year, been spending too much as it is. But the Craftworlds set...

I know some people view it as 'meh' because it's not the most competitive stuff, but I'm more of a collector/hobbyist who doesn't care about how good things are in game. I don't have a Wraithknight or any Vypers yet, would happily take more Guardians, DAs and Windriders, and have been mentally plotting ways to kitbash and convert plastic seers. So everything in there is something I want. Curses.

The hardest thing will be limiting myself to one.

Well, this is one of the few times that the holiday bundles just haven't done it for me. I'm only interested in the Derelict Factorum and then only for the ruined wall sprue.

My wallet is grateful, though.

I might have considered the Daughters box if the medusas and harpies were flipped. (ie, 10 snakes and 5 winged), and if I hadn't picked up the Change Cult back in march, and wasn't working on a daemon army at the moment. I'll have to ponder some of the terrain, but really, all of it has to compete with Blackstone and Wrath and Ruin this season, soo... probably not.

I'm just surprised AdMech are back in rotation again after getting a box in 2016.
Tyranids, Dark Eldar and Chaos have been missing from the last three years, apart from this 'yet more Nurgle' push. (though this box makes some sense from a marketing perspective)

The Changecult was a good box. These ones... not so much.

Really GW has missed an opportunity to synergise their brands with ongoing narrative events. They could have made the 40K boxes in line with the stuff going on with Vigilus.

Make the Eldar box a Saim-Hann-themed box with lots of Jetbikes and vehicles rather than just another box with Guardians and Dire Avengers. An Ork box with the two buggies you cannot buy yet. That sort of thing.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but the new Sector Imperialis: Imperial Sector kit contains a new wall section the earlier kits don't have.

The Sector Imperialis "exclusive" section contains a wall section which is 3 bays (or units) wide, with a circular fan vent in the middle. The bays on either side may look like all the other arched window sections, but on either side the narrow, arched niches hold stacks of skulls, rather than slat vents. Also the right bay has an unique air-condition(?) unit, not seen on any of the other kits.

On photos showing the interior of the ruin, you can also see that the columns are hollow.

The pictures on the web store don't show any 3-section wall, though. It does mention this:

- 4 frames of wall sections, each containing 3 windowed wall sections – 1 double width and 2 half-width – with pillars and capstones for each wall;

That suggests a double wide window unit (you can see the molding on the inside of the column, and it definitely doesn't match the images of the sprues shown. Strange.

They already did a vigilatus themed ork box with those buggies. Speed freaks was just released with the codex and slightly before the christmas bundles.

The ork one would be speed freeks. Would be odd to do box that is basically same thing with same buggies.

Yeah, I'm not sold on the idea that 6 bikes with the two missing buggies is the same kind of thing as these bundle boxes.

But would be weird for gw to realease 2 big boxes with same 2 buggies in both. Orks aren's marlnes

Did I say it'd have the same miniature content as the Speed Freeks box? Obviously it'd have more. It would just include the two buggies from the box.

Hell, it could have all 6 in there, with a bunch of outrider bikes.

I don't understand why this concept is so difficult to grasp: Speed Freeks is a game, not a Battleforce. GW doing an new Ork Battleforce box with the Shockjump Dragster and the Obnoxious Compoundword wouldn't be them releasing a "second box" because there is no first box.

Am I not explaining this clearly enough?

I don't understand why this super simple concept is so hard to grasp. GW would be super unlikely to put in TWO boxes for orks whose selling point would be SAME 2 buggies. Apart from buggies likely being on sale by that time so no "not on sale" then and if not they would not want the two to cannibalize their sales. It would result in two very similar boxes. Orks aren't space marines. They don't get two similar boxes with competing units to boot with.

This is like elementary school level logic...

They don't sell a box with those buggies for 40K. They sell a game that has them.

Kind of a shame the Lizzies got a Carno. I mean, I love my Carnos, but since you already get 12 Warrios and 8 Knights, we could easily got a Stegie...

Still, it is the "best" deal out of the whole BFs. Should cost $320 USD, versus $170 USD, making it 53.125% off!!

However, comparing it to the actual cost of the SC! should make it "worst". It happens the same with the Chaos Warriors.

Oh well, one can never have enough Carnos!

They wouldn't be dumb enough to put recently released kits into discount bundle.

I hope I can get my hands on the Seraphon bundle. It has a lot of the range I enjoy visually. After that sort of torn. Akhellian models are all fantastic, I enjoy converting Primaris and both the Necron and Eldar ones have a fun collection of units.

I've highlighted the 3 bay section in the photos attached below. This section is unique to this kit, and hasn't been released previously with any of the other ruin kits.

Yep thats new, looks like a new sprue with a complete wall of 3 panels? On the inside the pillars are hollow backed like on some of the Imperialis ruin pieces.

Not sure if this is good or bad. Good as the set includes more for the money (and easier to assemble). Bad as it limits what can be done with the set.

The three bay section clearly has some trade-offs, unless you were going to use three window-sections anyway, in which case it doesn't matter. I would have bought this if it was around when I planned and built my ruins a couple of months ago, and I appreciate that it has unique details.

That would have royally pissed off everyone who bought the SF box with 'exclusive' minis, and they would be right, for once. I could see such a box for next Holiday, not this one.

Although I do like the idea of putting the limited edition power fist captain into Imperial Fists box. Would make it a bit less terrible.

Only two? I find that hard to believe from a self-described Terrain Junkie..

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Order of St Ursula (Sisters of Battle): W-2, L-1, T-1
Get of Freki (Space Wolves): W-3, L-1, T-1
Hive Fleet Portentosa (Nids/Stealers): W-6, L-4, T-0
Omega Marines (vanilla Space Marine): W-1, L-6, T-2
Waagh Magshak (Orks): W-4, L-0, T-1

Liking the Eldar and Sersphon boxes, the Primaris ones are a bit too overlapping with Dark Impeirum etc so less useful to existing armies.

Anyone identify the model on the left of the seraphon box with some sort of shield on it ? It’s higher than the skinks. Spineybits missed it off their list.

The Seraphon box is still the best value if you value the carnosaur at half the start collecting price.

Points wise they all come in around 1k ish for AoS.

Its just the character on foot you can build from the Carno kit.

I was agreeing with you, responding to the 'but speed freaks' comments.

The lack of miniatures was the central point to why it isn't the same.

Decided I will definitely go for a Seraphon box. I was not paying attention last year, how do these bundles work? Are they limited in number or web only, or would I expect to be able to pick them up in my local GW? Should I put my name down there for one or do they just go "live" at some point?

They are being released on 1st December (or that might be pre-order date), can just grab them direct from GW webstore, local GW store or from any other seller that sells GW products (with the usual discount).

They're limited in number but the stock levels can last either a month or a year. There's still some leftovers from last year at my local GW.

I expect the Seraphon, Idoneth, Daughters of Khaine, Death Guard, and Necron ones to be 'big hits' and sell through quickly. I'd advise making sure you're around on November 24th/December 1st to get the Seraphon one if you want one.
