With Wrath and Rapture box coming out, decent odds on Emperor's Children and/or World Eaters for 40k.

Have the exact prices for these boxes been confirmed by any 3rd-party retailers yet? Particularly the Titanicus one.

The bundles for 40k and AoS are £100 in GW's Christmas catalogue (the contents of the Daughters of Khaine box add up to £165 separately). Since the AT box is described as getting the Warhounds free, I expect it'll also be £100 - the cost of a Warlord and a Reaver.

Any idea of what the Australian prices will be? I did some quick math basing it off of the prices I could see on the sheet and it seems like it'll be $290-300 but I'm hoping it'll be less.

AUD 280, like Archaon (who's also £100), I'd assume.

The last ones were $280 (I got the Archanite Changecult... not from GW obviously, who the hell pays flat retail in Oz?).

Beta Codex containing traits, stratagems and new point costs in December Chapter Approved.

New full factions are pretty sparse all the time. This December has the most new releases coming than there’s been in a December for a long time.

So again: what codexes are coming december? Those are what december traditionally has been void of

None, but again: this December is the most release heavy December in a long time. That’s all anyone’s saying.

And funnily enough, there's precious little difference between the beta codex and a normal codex. It'll have questionable balance, shoddy rules and only cover units for which models are available around the release period. Really, aside from being filler for Chapter Approved and being replaced within a year, there's no functional difference.

What stops you from doing that for other armies?

Why would you expect GW's responsiveness to differ?

because GW stated they want feedback, which they haven't done with the others

They're making changes in Chapter Approved and twice a year in erratas, including beta rules. Seems to me like they are willing to listen to feedback.

Not that it necessarily gets implemented. It's still a case of GW's designers writing rules that they think best mechanically reflect a concept and put the burden of changing their minds on us, with no guarantee that it's going to happen. I fail to see how the process for Sisters is going to deviate from this approach.

GW will listen to feedback, but won't necessarily take heed of offered solutions.

Given the old (based on some fact) adage of 'Dear GW, Rock is overpowered, Paper is fine. Regards, Scissors', that's somewhat understandable.

Exactly. For better or worse, someone has to take the lead on design and have final say to at least try and mitigate bias.

GW has not been very good with feedback until recently. I wouldn't expect any request for feedback to have massive impact even if it were objectively the right way to go, but at least they allow themselves to get nudged in the right direction these days.

I really don't expect the Sisters beta to amount to much, but it should make the eventual codex a little better than it would have been without it.

Hey, remember how this thread is about the contents of the holiday bundle boxes and not the same Chapter Approved/rules balance nonsense that takes over every 40k thread?

The most recent painting vid on WHTV with the Crimson Fists Intercessor has a sculpted Fist icon shoulder badge. That should be additional confirmation on the contents of a Fisty upgrade sprue with the Power Fist and shoulder badges. Wonder what other detail greeblies they would get?

There is a signum type thing on the back packs of several models on the box, so it stands to reason that there will be some sort signum on the sprue.

I thought this was the Chapter Approved thread. Oops.

So all these upgrade sprues come with five small shoulder pads and three large ones, right? Which would suggest that the Imperial Fists box has three to cover the Intercessors and Helblasters, and a fourth so the Captain gets one as well. Does that sound about right?

It's a tempting box as it conveniently skips the Primaris models I don't like. If it has that additional sprue so I have a couple of shoulder pads left over for assorted models, I may just have to grab one.

Actually, they come with six small, three large. The sixth one is for characters (it tends to have some embellishments). So if a guy has two more Fist Pauldrons, they will have enough for four 5-man squads.

No problem! Though I am curious how the character one will be different. The Ultramarines one has a skull, the Dark Angels has a scroll, Blood Angels has a cord with a blood vial and blood drop, and Space Wolves has a tooth and a runestone.

Actually, in looking at the Sprues for the other Chapters, outside of the Ultramarines upgrade, the weapons on the different upgrade sprues are devoid of Chapter emblems. Which means that, if you wanted, you could just swipe the weapon you want from the upgrade sprue (probably could use a bits seller to acquire it) and put it on whatever Chapter Marine you want. That is pretty cool, IMO. It at least makes Power Swords a little easier to get for C:SM Intercessors.

+1 for this. The DA sword praticuly makes it a buy for any sword wielding marine.

Well, thanks to the other forum, we have pictures of the Imperial Fists Upgrade Sprue. It has the same damned Bolt Pistol as the Blood Angles Upgrade Sprue!

Otherwise, everything else looks decent. No fist emblem on the helmet, but whatever. The Power Fist looks great though.

Edit: The trinkets all look really good. I can't wait to deck some of my units out with them. The helmet is definitely different though.

I can't wait to order this thing! I also wonder if Primaris Honour Guard will be available outside of Calgar's Honour Guard. Because I can definitely put some Phalanx Warder Shields on some Primaris dudes and make my own!

People were wondering what might be hanging off the sixth regular shoulder pad, the "special" one for characters.

Turns out for the Imperial Fists their decoration is... another fist.

Sure! Why not?

Yeah, I saw that and was pretty impressed. Not as impressed as I would have been if the little fist icon had a little fist on it.

I don't know if this counts as one of the christmas bundles, but they are currently selling a "Battleforce Genestealer Cult" with quite some discount. I don't know if this might be old news, as the following link shows "2017", though I didn't know about this one.

Eh, I'm not a fan. Not that it's a surprise after the treatment the blood bloods and wolf wolfs got, but Imperial Fists don't need to have fists dangling everywhere.

At least it's just an upgrade sprue and not as excessive as complete, dedicated models would be.

Regardless though, Imperial Fists getting some love is a good thing.
