This pleases me. I think Calgar looks awesome in Gravis armor and his Honor Guard look great as well. I'd buy him to convert but you just know the capes integral to the model so your stuck with it. Oh, well.
Raptor Chaos Lord:
Nope. He's just to busy looking and worse he's a marine-let. Having gone Primaris I can't go back to tiny marines. Hopefully, when Emperors Children finally do come out they'll have parts worth bits ordering; because if their manlets I won't buying entire kits, then.
Genestealer Cult:
The bikers look great and will fit in nicely with the existing line, very unexpected.
Daemons:
The Fiends, Flesh Hounds, and Karnak are all amazing sculpts worlds better that what came before. GW should be proud of those models. Although the Fiend heads would look better if they were more narrow like the Seeker mounts rather than being so wide. I may have to mod those heads.
Herald:
As much as I love Slaanesh I can't completely sign off on that Herald. She looks chunky compared to the other Daemonettes, just like the current resin Herald; and that head is well not to pretty. What is up with that braid its huge and out of scale like the one on the Callidus Assassin? It should be much thinner and smaller like the braids on the female Scourge models. Which is probably where I get a replacement braid, if I don't just swap the whole head. I'm also not sure about those extra long horns either. Also on her potential rules I hope she can be mounted on a chariot or that she has a large aura or board wide rules; because tat harp does not look mobile at all. She really should have been mounted on something. Still the concept is a winner for me. I really, hope that that harp is a captured Eldar. If not, I'm green-stuffing some knife ears on it and making in a bound Farseer. Now I just have to buy the Scribe model from Kingdom of Death for another body horror Herald.

Well, the alternative is points being plucked from the air on no basis but the author's opinion/bias. Using a formula provides a consistent baseline for ALL models. They can then playtest and vary the points from there.

And you know this, how? The new CSM from BF are almost as big as a Primaris. This guy could be scaled to them for all you know.

Don't we see him next to Primaris Calgar in the new video? The lord looks pretty big in that, sure the scale could be a bit wonky because of depth. But I imagine he's done to scale with the new BFCSM
Edit: You can look for yourselves 39 seconds into the video

Primaris über fans and naysayers should be calm and chill out, this still doesn't herald the end of normal marines. Remember GW has stated new standard marines are still being created, plus there are regular marines all over the vigils video and in the artwork.
The 'Rubicon Primaris' upgrade thing cal gar has gone through may be a highly specialised process that can't be applied universally, more info is require before nay pronouncements are made!
To be fair, they haven't even hinted at a non-primaris space marine release since Dark Vengeance, so it's not an unreasonable conclusion to draw. Really, until we see another old marine release it's safer to err on the side of primaris only from now on.
We have seen old marine releases since primaris came out, series 1&2 of the space marine heroes. Not to mention several FW things. Or do those not count 'cause reasons'
You really think some Japanese blind packs mean the manlets are here to stay?
That and Primaris don’t directly replicate any existing Marine units.
The reason we’re not seeing any new stuf for non-Primaris Marines is that barring the Bikes, that range is pretty modern, so don’t need replacing at the moment.
They don't replace any existing marine units because that way you have to buy the new models to use the new rules.

The Calgar thing gives me hope they're going to revamp some other old 2E-era characters like Azreal. I've held off on buying any of those simply because they look out of place next to modern plastics, and I'm not a good enough painter to hide that.

GW could give away a free solid 24k gold model with every purchase, and tneva would complain it was too heavy. His only purpose here is to find things to criticise. It's not worth engaging him.

I do like that titan, kind of unusual but lots going on. Trying to work out how big it is, almost looks Warlord sized in some of those group shots though might be deceptive as it's on a raised plinth. Can anyone who's seen it in person clarify exactly how big it is?
Will definitely pick up some for AT when they get released and may be tempted by a full size one!
Also, notice there's a redesigned Volcano cannon for the Reaver, looks like it matches the one designed for the AT Reaver which is more like the Warlord version than the one you can currently buy, and a bit more detailed.

I'm not 100% sold on the titan yet. I mean, it looks cool and all but it looks to be Warlord scale which means it's big, expensive and heavy. I would have preferred a reaver or warhound scale titan to be honest.

With hindsight, I'd have rather my half brother been entombed within the hallowed sarcophagus of a Dreadnought, to forever stand as a bastion of might against the darkness of the galaxy, to exist as a shining example of unparalleled heroism and unending sacrifice.
Instead he's been turned into a Primaris Marine. *sigh*
But let us not focus on out-of-scale Space Marines (and their equally as out-of-scale soon-to-be-released Traitor counterparts-that-have-totally-always-been-this-big-you-just-didn't-realise-it-ok!!!), and the continued death of regular Marine miniatures (even the fething Honour Guard are Primaris Marines), and instead look towards more awesome things.
Like Kanarak, who is incredible. Or Harp Lady, who is disturbing. Or the Cult Outriders, which are fantastic (especially that ATV). Or the Cities of Death campaign card sleeve box thing, which is a nice idea. Or the Warbringer, with its teeny tiny adorable T-Rex arms. Or the Chaos Lord, whose name is literally 'Worldtaker'. Is that how it works with Chaos now? Your name is your job. "Vitrius Toiletcleaner, we've had an accident in Level 15, sub-sector 4. Get to it!!!""Right away, Commander Ordergiver!".
All much better than my Primaris Half Brother...

It's a modern GW plastic character. More than that, it's a name character (The Mighty Skeleto... I mean Worldtaker!). You honestly think the kit will have options. Where have you been these past 2 years?
robbienw wrote: ... this still doesn't herald the end of normal marines.
They've created a fluff way for their existing characters to turn into Primaris Marines. The new Dante, Az, and whyone else they want to re-do will be a Primaris Marine.
Normal Marines will never see another release.

They're classing it as a "Nemesis" Titan, which is a Warlord Pattern. Size-wise, it looks like it's built on the warlord legs and torso chassis, with different armour and a different mounting plate for the carapace (to hold that artillery piece.)
So, I'm thinking slightly taller than the FW warlord, because of the carapace weapon...
Damn, another one to add to the collection...also, interesting they mixed "Warbringer" into the name, as that's historically been a sub=pattern of the Emperor-class...

Pic for reference
Its probably best to just ignore people that say manlet/marinelet at this point since they can't be bothered to research and find that the new chaos minis only stand like 2mm shorter than their precious Cawl Monkey Marines. Which makes perfect sense until Fabius designs his own Monkey Marines or GW decides that the warp gives them and their armor growth spurts on top of the normal mutations you see.

When the simply magnificent Cheat Commandos parodied 80's toy-selling cartoons (specifically GI Joe) to what can only be described as comedic gold perfection the leader's name was literally "Gunhaver", because, as you might imagine, he has guns.
Worldtaker.
Worldtaker!!!
Obsidius Mallus, the guy from Blackstone Fortress, whose name basically means Black Hammer in pseudo-Latin High Gothic, is 10x better than fething Worldtaker. It's almost Orky in its absurdity.

Surprised that a herald named Haarken got a pass. It’s a Chaos Carol! Haarken the Herald Angel sings, this world we claim in 80...rings. Okay, fell apart at the end there but really the first name is equally doofy.

That name doesn't seem any more silly than, say, William the Conqueror (or Bastard :p ), or Eric the Red, or <insert culturally significant leader> the Great. People in the past had genuinely simple names- we still have them now, we just don't always know what they mean. My surname means "by the hedge". One of my ancestors would've been called something like Edgar by the hedge. I don't see a problem with Chaos Warlords adopting similar naming conventions based upon their deeds or roles.

It’s does, but you have no details on the process yet, from the calgar video it sounds like it may be difficult. it may be just an excuse to upgrade some famous characters.
I’m certain there will be regular marine releases in future, just like there was this year and last.

Oh, and blindbox minis made for the Japenese market that were out ages ago but are now suddenly available everywhere in now way constitutes a "regular" Marine release.
What I like about primaris is that they are devoid of ridiculous bling… Calgar has so much crapola on top that we cannot even see the gravis, a major pass for me. Keep it simple please!
Yes, we thought that Slaanesh would go the way of the Squats.
Little did we know that this was all subterfuge to keep us distracted whilst they very slowly made regular Marines less and less prominent, until all marines are Primaris Marines. Next step is just making Primaris Marines into just Marines, with no specific distinction.
