Clearly this is an out of season April's Fools joke.

Are there any plans to release this for tabletop?

Oh geez this is awkward.

Laurels have been on veteran helmets for years

Is it also crazy for a Lt to have the Lt symbol?

I am leaning toward this being an announcement for Angels of Death. A few new kits (hopefully a Repulsor with fewer guns and an alternate Redemptor, at the very least), upgrade sprues for the Imperial Fists and Iron Hands.

Primaris Iron Fists? Sign me up please. Don't the Fists have sprues coming soon in that army box?

That is exactly what has me leaning toward it being an add-on book with some general releases to go with it. We all but have confirmation of an Imperial Fists Upgrade Sprue, it would make sense for it to be paired with a book.

Perhaps there will be a new datasheet for an HQ Redemptor Dreadnought?

That would make a lot of sense. Honestly I think upgrade sprues for all of the founding chapters would probably sell well. So far we have Space Wolves, Ultras, Blood Angels, and Dark Angels. That's only 5 more small sprues, and Fists are all but guaranteed. Of the chapters without them Iron Hands (haha Iron Fists....nice slippage earlier) probably need one the most, being very bionic and all that jazz.

I'm agreeing with an earlier post....a Primaris Ancient. It's already a banner in the video, and the whole Duty does not end in Death reflects the Ancient rule in the game.

On the topic of upgrade sprues for the primaris; this would make a LOT of sense, considering GW could want to cut in on the profits 3d printers on shapeways and etc are currently enjoying.
Its unreasonable to expect anything beyond the OG 9, but simultaneously unreasonable for GW to let those customers go

That is certainly a possibility. But the one in the Dark Imperium box is pretty much perfect, so I don't really see the need. And from a GW standpoint, they would rather sell you a $150 Dark Imperium than a $30 Ancient. Though really, if they started doing wider releases of some of the characters that are in that boxed set, I would be down for it. And really, between the two new basic Primaris Lieutenants (one is a CC variant, the other is the ranged variant), they have already started to do so. A new Gravis Captain and Ancient are all that remains from that boxed set that isn't available separate.

Oh for sure. And they already have 3D models for the Imperial Fists pauldron (the Mk VIII Pauldron from the Deathwatch Veterans is the same as the Mk X) and Iron Hands. I would love for it to have a Power Fist or Shield on the Imperial Fist one, but I won't hold my breath. We will just have to wait and see. But I already have enough tiny Pauldron icons from Shapeways for my army, so unless this is spectacular, I likely will pass on them.

Didn't the Warhammer Community post before this teaser say "Something BIG is coming to Vigilus." etc? That, combine with this rather bizarre teaser (the banner does look like it's from a random computer game...) is pretty confusing. That's a plus to me.

I think that we're looking at this in too narrow a fashion.

What is this weekend? Vigilis (SP?) Weekender.

Who plays a big(ger?) role in the current narrative? Guilliman and the Ultramarines.

What's in this trailer? The Ultramarine's Chapter Banner.

So... probably something Vigilis related. I doubt they'd make a whole video just for a boxed AUD$50+ Primaris Ancient.

I agree. It's one of the two Primaris Marines that I own, the other being the more dynamic of the two Lieutenants.

I stopped at one Primaris Lieutenant.

GW didn't.

Hey, if that means you get traditional squad types with Primaris statlines and they finally start releasing models with embiggened versions of the classic armour marks, do eeeeeeeeeet. Also, Ultras getting a beating is always fun, even if they always make their Plot Armour save and come back somehow.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

You mean the Power Sword and Bolt Pistol LT? Yeah, he is pretty great, and it isn't often we see a SM that is firing his sidearm when he has a power weapon. Honestly, if they recut the Primaris Ancient from Dark Imperium and sold him separate, I bet he would sell. But instead, we are probably going to get a brand new one that isn't quite as good, but has a bunch of new options that aren't in the codex. But I have one of the Dark Imperium Ancients for each of my main SM armies, so I am good.

What's weird is that usually the date they give is the actual pre-order date.

This could easily just be a teaser for the big box of Primaris marines getting released for Christmas. Or the ancient, or anything.

I'd like a Primaris codex myself. It could feature relics that primaris guys could actually take (unlike half of them in the main book, annoyingly) and stratagems for them too.

I don't think that's what we'll get, but I can dream!

The date is the first day of the Vigilus Open day at Warhammer World so it probably means all will be revealed tomorrow.

Speaking of too narrow an approach, it's not like they would have to limit themselves to one thing. They can easily announce a video game set on Vigilus because it has nothing to do with them really along with a variety of Marine kits tying into the Vigilus storyline (because there's always more room for Marines) as well as push, say Failbaddon or Emprah's Kiddies as the new big threat to Vigilus.

They do tease stuff months in advance now so there's no reason the weekender that's supposed to reveal the future of the Vigilus story has to be about one thing only because that one thing is all they can fit into the next week or three of releases.

I don't see the point in making a teaser video for an ancient.

We all know stuff was going to be announced Saturday.

So why have the Ultramarines chapter banner, which is carried by honour guard, in a little teaser 2 days before the announcement, hype obviously but I wouldn't call a banner bearer big

I'm thinking new honour guard and or calgar
