I don’t think the GSC or Orks have any character Mary Sue enough to deal with Calgar. It makes sense from a plot perspective though, Guilliman has returned which kinda makes Calgar redundant as a character, as he is now.

Abbadon could handle him, he already took a horus clone, and they are right by the EoT. Though in all fairness I think killing Guilliman off again would be kind of dumb.

Reddit seems to think it's a new Calgar figure with honor guard, because that's the ultramarines chapter banner, carried by his honor guard. Also Calgar and honor guard are mysteriously absent from the store suddenly.

So this must be what the weekender preview is. Kind of a bummer it's even more Space Marines, but I'm sure the models will be nice.

I'm curious to how the honor guard will look as Primaris (dare I say amazing?).

Probably less blinged out if the Black Library stories are anything to go by, as Roboute keeps a mixed guard led by Sicarius, with the regular Honour Guard being much more blinged out than their Primaris counterparts.

I want a twin chainsaw dread with 20 sweeping attacks, just like the armiger warglaive can do.

The Facebook post mentions "Courage and Honour". Perhaps the name of the next Vigilus boxed set? I can see primaris with a new dreadnought versus something like CSM/Noise Marines.

After a wrath and ruin teaser and a vigilus summary that mentioned chaos cults, plus the traitor guard, beastmen and dark Mechanicum in Blackstone, staring at an ultramarines chapter banner is... something. A raw potato, perhaps, when you know a seven ingredient soup is being prepared.

Sure, you can do something with it, but I feel so unprepared for a bog standard SM release with so many holiday bundles, big box games and genestealer cults to wrap up.

Huh, that's an idea. Maybe it will be a boxed set with Ultras (and likely a new Calgar leading them) vs. Abaddon and some new CSM. That would mesh well with the Black Legion in Blackstone and the rumors of a new Abaddon which have been circulating forever.

Ugh... new Ultramarines... of course. Well, there's a lot of different rumors swirling about right now. I think a lot of things are going to be put to rest really quickly this weekend.

For example, different sources are claiming Abaddon, Fulgrim, or Angron. Let's assume it's one of those. The other two rumors will be put to rest.

There were also rumors of a new Primaris force coming to Vigilus, but the rumor said it would be a unique chapter. If it's Ultramarines instead, then we can put that other rumor to rest too.

If there is a box set that's Primaris vs. Chaos, that will put the box set rumor to rest as well.

My money is on Black Legion coming to Vigilus alongside Abaddon versus a Marneus Calgar in a dreadnought.

We'll see what happens in a few days.

The rumour I have seen floating around is a primaris vs black legion box set. Marneus and Abaddon are arguably the two most important non primarch marines in the setting. A box set featuring the elite of those two armies and a gathering storm style box set for the characters would be interesting.

Problem with the "versus" box idea is that the last few have had half the name from each faction, haven't they (tooth & Claw, Wrath & Rapture)? Courage & Glory would be Ultramarines fighting more Ultramarines? Although I suppose double Marines is the final destination of GW boxed sets.

I think this is going to be the 'exclusive' model to round out the year, like Marbo did.

Still sticking with it being a Primaris Ancient. The Astartes Banner rule they have lets slain models still act, it's entirely thematic.

God, Marine players are spoiled... It's only a "proper" release for your chapter if it comes with a chapter-specific upgrade sprue...
